The D2D (Device-to-Device) communication has been very popular as it is a promising and low-cost solution to reduce the burden on the cellular network. However, there are rare concerns about the distribution and pairing of DUEs(D2D user equipments), which have a significant impact on QoS (Quality of Service) of D2D communication. In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm based on the coalitional game to optimally adjust the distribution of DUEs. The proposed algorithm aims to form the optimal coalition structure, which achieves a balance between the throughput and power consumption of each coalition, obtaining the enhanced QoS of D2D. We show that our algorithm is superior to the benchmark models in terms of the throughput and energy efficiency of the DUE coalition. To further improve the QoS, we also propose a method to predict and maximize the pairing probability of DUEs. The proposed prediction method adopts the Logistic Regression to model the global pairing probability according to the communication parameters of DUEs. Experimental results show that the proposed prediction method is significantly superior to the benchmark methods in terms of prediction accuracy. In addition, the pairing probability maximization algorithm proposed also significantly improves the pairing probability.

Over the recent years, ontologies are widely used in the biomedical domains. However, biomedical ontology heterogeneity problem hamper the cooperation between intelligent applications based on biomedical ontologies. It is crucial to establish correspondences between the heterogeneous biomedical concepts in different ontologies, which is so-called biomedical ontology matching. Approaches based on Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithm (MOEA), such as NSGA-II, are emerging as a new methodology to solve the ontology matching problem. In this paper, to further improve the quality of biomedical ontology alignments, a hybrid NSGA-II is proposed, which modifies the knee solutions in the Pareto front by using a local search method. Experiment utilizes two biomedical ontology matching tracks provided by Ontology Alignment Evaluation Initiative (OAEI 2017). The experimental results show that our approach outperforms the participants of OAEI 2017 and NSGA-II based ontology matching technique. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2019.

In this paper, a sliding mode control method for manipulator in the presence of external disturbance is addressed. Firstly, the dynamic model of n-joint manipulator system is introduced. Secondly, aiming at a manipulator system with disturbance, a novel dynamic sliding mode controller based on adaptive technique is proposed, in which the parameter of external disturbance is estimated and updated by online adaptive method. Further, the stability of the overall system under this controller is verified based on Lyapunov theorem. Besides, through this method, there is no need to obtain the precise value of disturbance. Finally,experimental results demonstrate that the controller proposed in this work has strong robustness for disturbance, meanwhile can effectively reduce the chattering.

An adaptive PID sliding mode control method for 6 degree-of-freedom quadrotor is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the dynamic model of quadrotor UAV is introduced. Then the model is divided into two parts which include the position subsystem and attitude subsystem. Data that attitude subsystem required are generated from position subsystem. Secondly, the controller is designed based on PID sliding surface and the control gains of which can be estimated online. The stability of the control system was demonstrated by using Lyapunov stability theory. Finally, the simulation is carried out and simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Research on radiation noise field reconstruction of underwater vehicle shell structure

When studying the radiation noise of underwater vehicle, it is more realistic to simulate the underwater vehicle by using the volume source shell structure model. However, in the process of using COMSOL to simulate the radiation noise of the underwater vehicle shell structure, the far field calculation cannot be realized with the software because the calculation amount is too large. This paper proposes to measure the noise of underwater vehicle shell structure model in the near field. According to the theory of acoustic holographic and the idea of equivalent source, it is achievable to obtain the equivalent sound source of underwater vehicle shell structure noise source, and thus realizing sound field reconstruction. Studies have shown that underwater vehicle radiation noise field reconstruction and far-field calculation can be achieved by transformation within the tolerance of error. At the same time, this paper also compares the reconstructed sound fields obtained by different methods.

A fault tolerant control(FTC) scheme based on adaptive sliding mode control technique with guaranteed stability are obtained for space manipulator under actuator fault. Firstly, the dynamic model of space manipulator is addressed and its actuator faulty model is modeled in free-swinging fault case. Secondly, adaptive sliding mode fault tolerant control for actuator fault and external disturbance is proposed, in which a novel kind of multiple sliding mode surface is design to reduce the chattering and convergence time of conventional sliding mode. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed fault tolerant controller is successfully demonstrated by simulations for a dual-joint manipulator.

The interaction between light and its surroundings (i.e. the geometry and materials) shapes the lighting distribution and determines the appearance of scenes and its visual experiences. In this study, we introduced the concept of light distribution solids by distinguishing luminance distribution solids and illuminance distribution solids. It is helpful to understand the spatial and form-giving lighting effects on objects' appearance. Furthermore, this study together with our previous study (Xia, Pont et al. 2016, Xia, Pont et al. 2016) provide theoretical basis for the exploration of extracting photometry parameters out of HDR panoramic photographs of scenes.

Using NSGA-III for optimising biomedical ontology alignment

To support semantic inter‐operability between the biomedical information systems, it is necessary to determine the correspondences between the heterogeneous biomedical concepts, which is commonly known as biomedical ontology matching. Biomedical concepts are usually complex and ambiguous, which makes matching biomedical ontologies a challenge. Since none of the similarity measures can distinguish the heterogeneous biomedical concepts in any context independently, usually several similarity measures are applied together to determine the biomedical concepts mappings. However, the ignorance of the effects brought about by different biomedical concept mapping's preference on the similarity measures significantly reduces the alignment's quality. In this study, a non‐dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA)‐III‐based biomedical ontology matching technique is proposed to effectively match the biomedical ontologies, which first utilises an ontology partitioning technique to transform the large‐scale biomedical ontology matching problem into several ontology segment‐matching problems, and then uses NSGA‐III to determine the optimal alignment without tuning the aggregating weights. The experiment is conducted on the anatomy track and large biomedic ontologies track which are provided by the Ontology Alignment Evaluation Initiative (OAEI), and the comparisons with OAEI's participants show the effectiveness of the authors' approach.

The light diffuseness (Xia, Pont et al. 2016, Xia, Pont et al. 2016) can strongly influence the appearance of scenes and objects inside it. There are numerous studies investigating how to measure the light diffuseness or modelling index. However, there are few studies about how light diffuseness is interpreted by human observers. We use an appearancematching experiment to investigate observers' visual interpretation of light diffuseness from object appearance and its potential interactions with viewing angles, light probe type, etcetera. The results indicate that, generally, the observers are able to distinguish different diffuseness levels for both the smooth and rough white spherical probes. The “diffuseness-direction ambiguity” (Pont and Koenderink 2007) is obvious especially for the smooth probe and it can be largely corrected for by the “effective vector to scalar ratio” (Cuttle 1971). Moreover, the results showed that the use of a probe with mesorelief can at least partly resolve the “diffuseness-direction ambiguity”.

Image reconstruction of concrete based on Filtered Backprojection method using ultrasonic time of flight data

This research aims to recognize the defect of concrete materials using an ultrasonic computed tomography imaging technique. Filtered Backprojection method was used to reconstruct concrete images in this paper. Ultrasonic time of flight data was measured to reconstruct computer tomography images. 306 data paths were obtained in total by manual scanning for one computer tomography image. We examined the effect of the interpolation data as the density of time of flight data has a considerable effect on image quality. The feasibility of concrete reconstruction system and time of flight data interpolation were examined in detail using numerical and concrete phantoms.
