Towards catalytic reactions of Cu single-atom catalysts:Recent progress and future perspective

One of the urgent and challenging topics in diversified sustainable energy conversion is the development of high-performance,low-cost,and well durable *** single-atom catalysts(SACs)have become promising catalysts for diversified sustainable energy conversion due to their capability to maximize the utilization efficiency,acquire modulated electronic structure and optimized binding strength with *** this review,we have provided an interview of the recent progress achieved in the field of electrocatalysis,photocatalysis,and heterogeneous reaction based on Cu *** by this review,we have summarized some advanced synthetic strategies for the construction of Cu ***,the performance-improving strategies are discussed in terms of the coordination environments of the reaction center,reaction mechanism and selectivity,based on free energy diagram and electron structure ***,the remaining issues,challenges,and opportunities of Cu SACs are also provided,affording a perspective for future *** review not only offers us a deep understanding on the catalytic mechanism of Cu SACs for energy conversion,but also encourages more endeavors in prompting their practical application.

Isocyanide-Based One-Pot Cascade Synthesis of 3-Acyl Isoindolinones

A series of 3-acyl-substituted isoindolinone derivatives were synthesized in a one-pot manner via the reaction of o-bromobenzaldehydes,isocyanides,and carboxylic acids in the presence of palladium catalyst and base. The reaction employing easily available starting materials features simple operation and high efficiency. The mechanistic study showed that the reaction might undergo 1) Pd-catalyzed [3+2] cyclization of o-bromobenzaldehyde with isocyanide and the re-insertion of another molecule of isocyanide,2) addition of carboxylic acid to in situ formed ketenimine followed by a rearrangement relay to give 3,3-diacyl-substituted isoindolinone derivative. Further transformations of the obtained products through decarbonylation could also be realized.

Metabolomics and gene expression levels reveal the positive effects of teaseed oil on lifespan and aging process in Caenorhabditis elegans

As an irreplaceable dietary constituent,lipids play a vital important role in health,but their effects on aging process and longevity are still not well known *** this paper,the metabolic profiling and gene expression levels of Caenorhabditis elegans were investigated to explore the effects of different edible oils on senescence and *** results showed that teaseed oil(TO)could prolong the life expectancy and slow down the aging process of *** to the control group,the intake of lard oil(LO)and TO increased the expression levels of genes related to inhibition of protein aggregation(akt-1,daf-16,hsf-1,hsp-16.2)and lipid metabolism(daf-7,daf-1,mdt-15,lipl-4,fat-5,fat-6,fat-7),with a more significant alteration in TO *** revealed that palm oil can upregulated plenty of fatty acids(palmitic acid,stearic acid,tetracosanoic acid),together with some amino acids(tryptophan,L-aspartate,L-valine)and carbohydrate(D-glucose),while the trend was opposite in TO ***,moderate-to-strong correlations were found between differential metabolites and changed *** general,this paper claimed that TO could prolong lifespan and slow down aging process via regulating the lipids,amino acids and carbohydrates metabolism.

Compound biological bait can replace commercial bait to ensure fish *** compound biogenic bait can effectively improve the water and soil *** key microbiome induced by compound biogenic bait plays an important *** commercial aquatic fish bait(CA)is not conducive to the scientific breeding of rice and fish in cocropping systems,and excessive feeding easily causes environmental pollution in rice *** this study,an environment-friendly compound biogenic bait(CB)mixed with plant-derived(PB)and animal-derived(AB)baits was *** rice–crucian carp cocropping system was used as the research object,and the soil microorganisms and fish gut microorganisms were sequenced with high throughput,respectively,to verify the effect of CB application and the microbial mechanism underlying its functional *** results showed that the AB and PB components in CB maintain the growth of fish by improving the metabolism-related functions of fish gut microbiome and reducing the abundance of intestinal pathogenic bacteria,including *** particular,the PB components induced soil microbiome,such as Pseudonocardia,that participate in soil nutrient cycling and increase dissolved oxygen in water,which is key for improving rice quality and *** is the first study to focus on how different bait components drive key microbial communities to regulate animal–plant–environment relationships in the integrated planting and breeding patterns of paddy fields.

It is of great interest to develop the novel transition metal-based electrocatalysts with high selectivity and activity for two electron oxygen reduction reaction(2e^(-) ORR).Herein,the nickel ditelluride(NiTe_(2)) with layered structure was explored as the 2e^(-) ORR electrocatalyst,which not only showed the highest 2e^(-) selectivity more than 97%,but also delivered a slight activity decay after 5000 cycles in alkaline ***,when NiTe_(2) was assembled as the electrocatalyst in H-type electrolyzer,the on-site yield of H_(2)O_(2) could reach up to 672 mmol h^(-1)g^(-1) under 0.45 V *** in situ Raman spectra,theoretical calculation and post microstructural analysis synergistically unveiled that such a good 2e^(-) ORR performance could be credited to the intrinsic layered crystal structure,the high compositional stability,as well as the electron modulation on the active site Ni atoms by neighboring Te atoms,leading to the exposure of active sites as well as the optimized adsorption free energy of Ni to –*** inspiringly,such telluride electrocatalyst has also been demonstrated to exhibit high activity and selectivity towards 2e^(-) ORR in neutral media.

Water, an invaluable and non-renewable resource, plays an indispensable role in human survival and societal development. Accurate forecasting of water quality involves early identification of future pollutant concentrations and water quality indices, enabling evidence-based decision-making and targeted environmental interventions. The emergence of advanced computational technologies, particularly deep learning, has garnered considerable interest among researchers for applications in water quality prediction because of its robust data analytics capabilities. This article comprehensively reviews the deployment of deep learning methodologies in water quality forecasting, encompassing single-model and mixed-model approaches. Additionally, we delineate optimization strategies, data fusion techniques, and other factors influencing the efficacy of deep learning-based water quality prediction models, because understanding and mastering these factors are crucial for accurate water quality prediction. Although challenges such as data scarcity, long-term prediction accuracy, and limited deployments of large-scale models persist, future research aims to address these limitations by refining prediction algorithms, leveraging high-dimensional datasets, evaluating model performance, and broadening large-scale model application. Differences in the effects and action modes of gut commensals against dextran sulfate sodium-induced intestinal inflammation

Inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)is a complex relapsing inflammatory disease in the gut and is driven by complicated host-gut microbiome *** commensals have shown different functions in IBD prevention and *** gain a mechanistic understanding of how different commensals affect intestinal inflammation,we compared the protective effects of 6 probiotics(belonging to the genera Akkermansia,Bifidobacterium,Clostridium,and Enterococcus)on dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)-induced colitis in mice with or without gut ***-inflammatory properties(ratio of interleukin(IL)-10 and IL-12)of these strains were also evaluated in an in vitro mesenteric lymph nodes(MLN)co-culture *** showed that 4 probiotics(belonging to the species Bifidobacterium breve,Bifidobacterium bifidum,and Enterococcus faecalis)can alleviate colitis in normal *** probiotic strains differed in regulating the intestinal microbiota,cytokines(IL-10,IL-1βand interferon(IFN)-γ),and tight junction function(Zonulin-1 and Occludin).By constrast,Akkermansia muciniphila AH39 and Clostridium butyricum FHuNHHMY49T1 were not ***,*** JSNJJNM2 with high anti-inflammatory potential in the MLN model could relieve colitis symptoms in antibiotic cocktail(Abx)-treated ***,*** FJSWX25M1induced low levels of cytokines in vitro and showed no beneficial ***,we provided insight into the clinical application of probiotics in IBD treatment.

Ameliorative effects of Lactobacillus fermentum isolated from individuals following vegan, omnivorous and high-meat diets on ulcerative colitis in mice

Lactobacillus *** be beneficial for the prevention or treatment of ulcerative colitis(UC).In this study,153 participants who followed vegan,omnivorous,or high-meat diet were *** analysis of the Lactobacillus community in feces revealed that Lactobacillus fermentum strains were significantly affected by *** of mixed *** strains from vegans significantly improved inflammation compared to that from omnivores and high-meat consumers,as evidenced by a significant reduction in colonic tissue damage,improvement in inflammatory cytokines,enhanced expression of ZO-1,occludin,and claudin-3,and a significant increase in short chain fatty acids *** effect of a single strain of *** was similar to that of a mixed strains of *** *** analysis suggested that *** strains from the guts of vegans possessed a higher prevalence of genes involved in carbohydrate catabolism than those from the guts of omnivores and high-meat *** particular,the ME2 gene is involved in the biosynthesis of acetate,a compound considered to possess anti-inflammatory *** conclusion,this study indicates strain-specific differences in the ability of *** strains to alleviate UC in mice,influenced by habitual diets。
