In this paper, we consider sequential online prediction (SOP) for streaming data in the presence of outliers and change points. We propose an INstant TEmporal structure Learning (INTEL) algorithm to address this problem. Our INTEL algorithm is developed based on a full consideration to the duality between online prediction and anomaly detection. We first employ a mixture of weighted Gaussian process models (WGPs) to cover the expected possible temporal structures of the data. Then, on the basis of the rich modeling capacity of this WGP mixture, we develop an efficient technique to instantly learn (capture) the temporal structure of the data that follows a regime shift. This instant learning is achieved only by adjusting one hyper-parameter value of the mixture model. A weighted generalization of the product of experts (POE) model is used for fusing predictions yielded from multiple GP models. An outlier is declared once a real observation seriously deviates from the fused prediction. If a certain number of outliers are consecutively declared, then a change point is declared. Extensive experiments are performed using a diverse of real datasets. Results show that the proposed algorithm is significantly better than benchmark methods for SOP in the presence of outliers and change points. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The problem of multiple testing arises in many contexts, including testing for pairwise interaction among a large number of neurons. Recently a method was developed to control false positives when covariate information, such as distances between pairs of neurons, is available. This method, however, relies on computationally-intensive Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC). Here we develop an alternative, based on Sequential Monte Carlo, which only requires one pass of the data. This scheme considers data items sequentially, with relevant probabilities being updated at each step. Simulation experiments demonstrate that the proposed algorithm delivers results as accurately as the previous MCMC method. We illustrate the method by using it to analyze neural recordings from extrastriate cortex in a macaque monkey. © 2018 IEEE.

SLBERT: An Improved FLAT-BERT for Named Entity Recognition

Named Entity Recognition (NER) aims to identify named entities mentioned in unstructured text and classify them into predefined named entity classes. Although models using word fusion have achieved relatively high performance, the recognition of ambiguous entities in text remains challenging, and the performance of the models depends on a sufficient amount of manually labeled data;exploring models that fuse more feature dimensions and schemes that fuse existing datasets is of farreaching interest. In this work, we propose an improved scheme of FLAT-BERT, SLBERT, that can be used in the field of named entity *** scheme consists of two phases that more fully exploit the global semantics of the text. In the first stage, the model is trained based on the current dataset, another dataset is predicted for cross-dataset fusion, and the correctness of label annotation is improved by entity confidence modeling. In the second stage, the global semantics of the text is extracted using Sentence BERT and embedded into the feature matrix encoded using Lattice BERT for subsequent Token classification. We have conducted experiments on several datasets, and the experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme in this paper. In terms of F1 values, compared with FLAT-BERT, the improvement is 0.15%, 0.34%, 0.61%, and 0.58% on datasets OntoNotes, MSRA, Resume, and Weibo, respectively. © 2022, The Authors. Crowdsourcing has become an effective tool to utilize human intelligence to perform tasks that are challenging for machines. In the integrated crowdsourcing systems, the requesters are non- monopolistic and may show preferences over the workers. We are the first to design the incentive mechanisms, which consider the issue of stimulating the biased requesters in the competing crowdsourcing market. In this paper, we explore truthful task assignment mechanisms to maximize the total value of accomplished tasks for this new scenario. We present three models of crowdsourcing, which take the preferences of the requesters and the workload constraints of the workers into consideration. We design a task assignment mechanism, which follows the matching approach to solve the Valuation Maximizing Assignment (VMA) problem for each of the three models. Through both rigorous theoretical analyses and extensive simulations, we demonstrate that the proposed assignment mechanisms achieve computational efficiency, workload feasibility, preference (universal) truthfulness and constant approximation.

As the emerging technology of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) becomes mature, UAVs are widely used in environmental monitoring, communication and other fields. In view of this, this paper analyzed the task of synergistic multi-UAVs exploration of unknown environments, and proposed a path planning method for them based on reinforcement learning. Firstly, the path planning task of the UAVs was divided into two parts: the path travel strategy module and the information exploration strategy module. Models of the two modules were based on the Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient algorithm (DDPG), and an improved Artificial Potential Field (APF) force traction mechanism was introduced in the path travel strategy module. Its aim was to assist in guiding the generation of UAV flight path trajectories. Also it could enhance the learning capability of the model. The path travel strategy module would generate the complete flight path of the whole cluster in a distributed manner. A series of temporary target points provided by the information exploration strategy module helped. In maps with 21.5%, 25.3% and 29.6% of obstacles, multi-UAVs could achieve 84.2%, 76.7% and 69.9% of environmental exploration by the designed method. Compared with the APF method, the A star method and the Breath First Search (BFS) method, the proposed method is not only able to plan feasible paths in a more complex map model, but also the curvature of the planned paths is smoother, thus achieving the goal of reducing the energy cost of UAVs.

Due to the limitation of hardware resources, the traditional people flow monitoring system based on computer vision in public places can't meet different crowd-scale scenarios. Therefore, a people flow monitoring system based on MD-MCNN algorithm is designed, which is an application system combining the improved SSD object detection algorithm MNSSD and MCNN density map regression algorithm. In the initial stage, the system uses MNSSD for accurate detection and counting. If the people flow gradually reaches a certain threshold, the system automatically uses MCNN to estimate people flow until the people flow falls below the threshold. Through the experimental verification, the system can realize the people flow statistics of low-density and high-density people in different scenarios, and can be applied on the existing embedded platform. This scheme can be extended to smart cities, smart scenic spots, smart transportation and other fields. © 2020 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The mobile robot adapts to the more complicated indoor and outdoor environments, and can expand its scope of application. In order to reduce the influence of the cumulative error caused by navigation in complex environments, the indoor mobile robot that combines Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and encoder fusion is designed and implemented. In view of the limitations of the traditional single lidar scheme, a Multi-sensor Fusion scheme is proposed to achieve indoor map construction, path planning, multi-point navigation and other functions, and a MSIF KartoSLAM (Multi-sensor Information Fusion) algorithm is proposed, which combines the KartoSLAM algorithm and Multi-sensor information to achieve map construction in complex environments. Through comprehensive testing in the indoor environment, the results show that the Multi-sensor Fusion scheme is superior to the traditional single lidar scheme, and can achieve higher accuracy in mapping and navigation. At the same time, the robot platform can also be combined with the Internet of Things technology and integrated into intelligent housing system. © 2020 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

With the increase of car ownership in China, the problem of difficult parking in cities has become more and more serious. In large parking garage, finding an ideal parking space has become a daily problem for people; especially during the peak usage period of parking garage, a large number of vehicles will be driven into the parking garage, which will bring congestion, and at the same time, the demand of a large number of users in the area will lead to network congestion under 4G network, and users cannot access the network to check and find parking spaces. Therefore, this paper proposes a global optimal navigation mechanism with 5G network based on the above mentioned problems by analyzing the congestion situation during the peak usage of the parking garage. This mechanism uses an optimal parking space selection model and a global optimal scheduling model that can avoid congestion. Based on the model proposed in this paper, we construct a navigation planning system based on mobile, front-end and back-end. With the ultra-low latency, ultrahigh transmission efficiency and reliability of 5G network, the mobile port can select the optimal parking space according to the user's preference, and the back-end can show the parking space and congestion in the parking garage in real time according to the actual situation of the parking garage. Finally, the performance of the model and system proposed in this paper is verified through experiments.

The rapid increase of data has led to many security issues. Various new technologies and other sub-disciplines have been introduced into the research of intrusion detection system (IDS), which has become a hot topic in the current field of security. However, IDS utilizing traditional machine learning technology suffers from relatively low detection rate, large computational overhead, and high false positive rate, due to the large amount of redundancy and high correlation of network traffic data. Therefore, we select random forest (RF) to handle the classification of the network traffic data, and try the classic feature selection algorithms Extra-Trees (ET) and Chi-square (CHI) to reduce the detection time and improve the efficiency of IDS. The experimental results based on the NSL-KDD dataset indicate that ET-RF and CHI-RF outstand in accuracy and computational overhead. Meanwhile, RF with ET outperforms that with CHI.

Intrusion detection system (IDS), as a network security device, monitors network data in real time and responds actively when it detects suspicious transmissions. However, suffered from the large amount of redundancy and high correlation of network data, the traditional IDS have defects in low detection rate and high computational overhead. In this paper, we propose a network data classification mechanism (CPEL). data preprocessing of network traffic data is first performed using correlation-based feature selection (CFS) and principal component analysis (PCA). CFS selects the best features in the data, PCA to dimensionality reduction and denoising. Then, we use multiple classifiers to perform anomaly detection, and select the best three classifiers according to the classification effect. On this basis, we use the majority vote as the ensemble learning (EL) method of combination rules to further improve the performance of the classifier. Experimental results on the benchmark NSL-KDD and WSN-DS datasets indicate that this mechanism outperforms a single algorithm in accuracy and detection rate. In the meantime, computational overhead is remarkably reduced.
