Efficient Rate Control Algorithm for Multi-view Video Coding

Rate control is one of the key factors influencing the multi-view video ***,there is not a rate control algorithm in the existing Joint Multi-view Video Coding *** this paper,an efficient rate control algorithm and a bit allocation strategy for multi-view video coding are *** order to obtain the consistent view quality,a bit allocation model based on the Lagrange optimum algorithm is firstly ***,considering the encoding statistical characteristics of different view types,a view weighting factor is introduced,and it will help improve the precision of bit allocation among *** with the fixed QP control strategy,experiment results show that the proposed algorithm can efficiently control the bit rate and obtain more consistent views,with video visual quality improved.

SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) is used to solve visual tracking problem, where the appearances of the tracked object and scene background change during tracking. The implementation of this algorithm has five major stages: scale-space extrema detection;keypoint localization;orientation assignment;keypoint descriptor;keypoint matching. From the beginning frame, object is selected as the template, its SIFT features are computed. Then in the following frames, the SIFT features are computed. Euclidean distance between the object's SIFT features and the frames' SIFT features can be used to compute the accurate position of the matched object. The experimental results on real video sequences demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach and show this algorithm is of higher robustness and real-time performance. It can solve the matching problem with translation, rotation and affine distortion between images. It plays an important role in video object tracking and video object retrieval. © 2008 IEEE.

In this paper, a novel error concealment (EC) method for compressed stereoscopic image pairs is presented, which contains a new binocular EC mode and an improved monocular EC mode. The proposed algorithm selects appropriate EC mode to conceal the error block (EB) in the stereoscopic image according to the local characteristic of the EB. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme has good subjective and objective EC performance in stereoscopic images as compared to monocular mode. © 2010 IEEE.

Gait recognition under variations of clothing and carrying condition is still a challenging task. In this paper, we present a gait identification method via sparse representation. We formulate the recognition problem as finding the coefficients of linear combination of the training samples plus an error term and discuss sparse signal representation theory that offers the solution to this problem. Based on the sparse representation computed by l1-minimization, we define a new distance metric to choose non-polluted area and propose a method for gait identification. Compared with the state-of-the-art methods on a large dataset, the proposed method achieves significant performance improvement in identification rates and it shows robustness to variations. © 2011 IEEE.

In view of the fact that the proportion of face in the whole image is small and the face posture is skew, which leads to the low accuracy of facial expression recognition, this paper proposes a two-branch neural network based on attention mechanism and length feature of facial landmark. The first branch is based on the modified VGG19 and the integration of the convolutional block attention module (CBAM), which focuses on the extraction of important features of expression. The second branch extracts 68 feature points from the face image, and calculates the Euler distance between these feature points to acquire the length information of 2278 dimensions, and is finally normalized and fed into the full connection layer. The network composed of the first branch and the second branch is trained by joint fine-tuning, where L2 regularization is added to prevent overfitting. The proposed method is tested and verified on Jaffe, CK + and FER +, and the highest accuracy is 93.48%,96.12% and 84.73% respectively. The performance of the proposed method is more advance than many existing algorithms, which shows that the proposed model has good accuracy and robustness. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper introduces a novel moving vehicle color recognition method. By processing videos recorded by monocular camera on traffic, we get single color image of vehicles which are crossed the traffic in any direction. First, paper employed a H-S two dimension histogram method to detect the color of the vehicles, and distinguish red, yellow, green and blue four color vehicles. Due to deal with the vehicles that do not satisfy above 4 colors, Regional Color Judgment method is proposed. This method consists of the following five steps: Firstly, position the color detection region by identifying the travelling direction of the vehicle. Then pick out the candidate color extraction region used to vehicle recognition. At last extract the color of the candidate region and match the color with the templates we predefined, the color of the best fit template is the color of the vehicle. © 2011 IEEE.

Objective image quality assessment(IQA)plays an important role in various visual communication systems,which can automatically and efficiently predict the perceived quality of *** human eye is the ultimate evaluator for visual experience,thus the modeling of human visual system(HVS)is a core issue for objective IQA and visual experience *** traditional model based on black box fitting has low interpretability and it is difficult to guide the experience optimization effectively,while the model based on physiological simulation is hard to integrate into practical visual communication services due to its high computational *** bridging the gap between signal distortion and visual experience,in this paper,we propose a novel perceptual no-reference(NR)IQA algorithm based on structural computational modeling of *** to the mechanism of the human brain,we divide the visual signal processing into a low-level visual layer,a middle-level visual layer and a high-level visual layer,which conduct pixel information processing,primitive information processing and global image information processing,*** natural scene statistics(NSS)based features,deep features and free-energy based features are extracted from these three *** support vector regression(SVR)is employed to aggregate features to the final quality *** experimental comparisons on three widely used benchmark IQA databases(LIVE,CSIQ and TID2013)demonstrate that our proposed metric is highly competitive with or outperforms the state-of-the-art NR IQA measures.

A new algorithm of color image blind watermarking based on BP neural network and wavelet significant tree is proposed. In YCbCr, the luminance component is decomposed with wavelet, and the wavelet significant tree can be found. Then the correlativity among nodes of wavelet significant tree is described by the nonlinear relationship responded by the trained BP neural network. Based on the relationship, the watermark is embedded into wavelet significant trees. Finally, the embedded watermark can be extracted without original image. The experimental results show that the embedded watermark can be extracted preferably in some common attacks, and this algorithm has better transparency and stronger robustness with some comparisons to other algorithms. © 2008 IEEE.

A new prediction algorithm of tourists flow distribution based on transition probability matrix (TPM) is proposed in this paper. In order to analyze the visitor transition-behavior and the tourists distribution model, the tourists flow distribution of 5 zones at Shanghai Expo site is predicted based on the TPM, which is estimated by use of multivariate linear regression in optimization. The extensive experimental results verify the efficiency and the correctness of the proposed algorithm over the wavelet neural network prediction method. © 2012 AICIT.
