Observer design and interval estimation of time-delay discrete-time linear systems with external disturbance and measurement noise

For a class of time-delay discrete-time linear systems with external disturbance and measurement noise, the interval estimation problems of state and measurement noise are investigated in this paper. First, the system state together with the time-delay term and measurement noise is augmented as a new state, and a singular system is then constructed. Subsequently, a kind of decoupling technique is employed to eliminate the effect of external disturbance, and an observer is designed to simultaneously estimate the system state and measurement noise. Based on the estimated state and measurement noise, the interval estimations of system state and measurement noise are obtained by reachability analysis technique. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by a four-tank liquid level system.

Effectiveness of Precursor Emission Reductions for the control of Summertime Ozone and PM2.5 in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei Region under Different Meteorological Conditions

We used observed concentrations of air pollutants,reanalyzed meteorological parameters,and results from the Goddard Earth Observing System Chemical Transport Model to examine the relationships between concentrations of maximum daily 8-h average ozone(MDA8 O_(3)),PM_(2.5)(particulate matter with diameter of 2.5μm or less),and PM_(2.5)components and 2-m temperature(T2)or relative humidity(RH),as well as the effectiveness of precursor emission reductions on the control of O_(3) and PM_(2.5) in Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei(BTH)under different summertime temperature and humidity *** observed(simulated)MDA8 O_(3) and PM_(2.5) concentrations increased as T2 went up,with linear trends of 4.8(3.2)ppb℃^(−1) and 1.9(1.5)μg m^(−3)℃^(−1),*** results showed that the decreases in MDA8 O_(3) from precursor emission reductions were more sensitive to T2 than to *** a larger proportion of volatile organic compound(VOC)emissions at higher T2 was more effective for the control of summertime O_(3) in *** the control of summertime PM_(2.5) in BTH,reducing nitrogen oxides(NOx)combined with a small proportion of VOCs was the best *** magnitude of reduction in PM_(2.5) from reducing precursor emissions was more sensitive to RH than to T2,with the best efficiency at high *** from this study are helpful for formulating effective policies to tackle O_(3) and PM_(2.5) pollution in BTH.

Structure-performance relationship between denitration performance and catalytic interface morphologies of MnCeO_(x)/P84 catalytic filters

MnCeO_(x)/P84 catalytic filters with spherical,flower-like,cubic and rod-like catalytic interfaces were synthesized respectively,and their catalytic activities in the NH_(3)-SCR reaction were *** MnCeO_(x)/P84 catalytic filter with spherical catalytic interfaces(recorded as S-MnCeO_(x)/P84)exhibits the best catalytic denitration *** NO_(x)removal efficiency of S-MnCeO_(x)/P84 reaches the highest value of 98.6%at 160℃when the catalyst loading is 100 g/m^(2).At the same time,S-MnCeO_(x)/P84 exhibits good SO_(2)resistance and stability,achieving a NO_(x)removal rate of 83%at 190℃with 30 ppm SO_(2).The characterization results illustrate that the MnCeO_x active component in S-MnCeO_(x)/P84 is present in weak crystalline states,tightly wrapped around the surface of the filter fiber,and uniformly dispersed,and the mesopore is the main pore structure of the S-MnCeO_(x)/P84,which can provide a channel for the catalytic reaction to *** the same time,transmission electron microscopy(TEM)characterization shows that y-MnO_(2)is the main form of MnO_(2)in the S-MnCeO_(x)/*** analysis of H_(2)temperature programmed reduction(H_(2)-TPR).NH_(3)temperature programmed desorption(NH_(3)-TPD)and in-situ diffuse reflectance infrared spectra(DRIFTS)show that S-MnCeO_(x)/P84 has good redox ability at 100-200℃and has abundant Lewis acid sites and Bronsteds acid sites,which provides an important guarantee for its superior low-temperature NH_(3)-SCR denitration performance.

As a vital energy source, coal mines are essential to the energy industry. However, the process of fully mechanized coal mining is notoriously harsh, which poses significant challenges to efficient and safe operations. In this context, hydraulic support operators play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and safety of the working face, where potential safety issues from operator errors or external interferences necessitate the adoption of smart mining practices. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a framework for a distributed hydraulic support control system based on a multi-agent system (MAS). First, by constructing this distributed multi-agent system within fully mechanized mining, the interactive relationship among hydraulic supports has been systematically delineated. Second, game theory is employed to inform decision-making regarding hydraulic support behaviors, enhancing both the autonomy and cooperation of the supports. Finally, the proposed model is analyzed and validated by maximizing the utility function, aiming to improve the efficiency and intelligence of fully mechanized mining operations. This comprehensive approach aims to ensure safer and more efficient coal mining practices through advanced technology integration and strategic decision-making. © 2024 IEEE.

Fault diagnosis of rolling bearings with noise signal based on modified kernel principal component analysis and DC‐ResNet

In view of the influence of aliasing noise on the effectiveness and accuracy of bearing fault diagnosis,a bearing fault diagnosis algorithm based on the spatial decoupling method of modified kernel principal component analysis(MKPCA)and the residual network with deformable convolution(DC‐ResNet)is innovatively ***,the Gaussian noise with different signal‐to‐noise ratios(SNRs)is added to the data to simulate the different degrees of noise in the actual data acquisition *** MKPCA is used to project the fault signal with different SNRs in the kernel space to reduce the data dimension and eliminate some noise ***,the DC‐ResNet model is used to further filter the noise effects and fully extract the fault features through the training of the preprocessed *** proposed algorithm is tested on the Case Western Reserve University(CWRU)and Xi'an Jiaotong University and Changxing Sumyoung Technology Co.,Ltd.(XJTU‐SY)bearing data sets with different SNR *** fault diagnosis accuracy can reach 100%within 30 min,which has better performance than most of the existing *** experimental results show that the algorithm has an excellent effect on accuracy and computation complexity under different noise levels.

Particle number size distributions and formation and growth rates of different new particle formation types of a megacity in China

To understand the contribution of new particle formation(NPF)events to ambient fine particle pollution,measurements of particle size distributions,trace gases and meteorological conditions,were conducted at a suburban site(NJU)from October to December 2016 and at an industrial site(NUIST)from September to November 2015 in *** to the temporal evolution of the particle size distributions,three types NPF events were observed:typical NPF(Type A),moderate NPF events(Type B)and strong NPF(Type C)*** favorable conditions for Type A events included low relative humidity,low concentration of pre-existing particles,and high solar *** favorable conditions of Type B events were similar to Type A,except for a higher concentration of pre-existing *** C events were more likely to happen with the higher relative humidity,lower solar radiation and continuous growth of pre-existing particle *** formation rate of 3 nm(J3)was the lowest for Type A events and highest for Type C *** contrast,the growth rates of 10 nm and 40 nm particles were the highest for Type A,and lowest for Type *** show that NPF events with only higher J3 would lead to the accumulation of nucleation mode *** acid was important for the formation of particles but had little effect on the growth of particle size.

Aiming at the problems of stability and efficiency of full-width cross-axis cutting in large section semi-coal rock roadway under complex geological conditions, a shield type intelligent driving robot system is developed, and a new shield type full-width cross-axis cutting system was proposed. The body structure model of the cutting system was constructed, and the mechanical model of the full-width transverse axis drum of the cutting system, the mechanical coupling model of "cutting robot - rectangular shield - top and bottom wall rock", and the force transfer mechanism in the cutting process of the drum were established. The stability condition of the cutting system is determined according to the relationship between the stability moment and the jumping moment of the cutting system, and the stability coefficient model of the cutting system when the shield and the roof are coupled is established. The Adams simulation model of the cutting system is established, and the cutting performance of the coal rock with hardness of f6 is simulated, and the stability coefficient is always greater than 1.1. The simulation and industrial test results show that the shield type full width transverse axis cutting system has characteristics of good stability, cutting efficiency and high forming quality. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Variations in summertime ozone in Nanjing between 2015 and 2020:roles of meteorology,radical chain length and ozone production efficiency

Changes in ozone(O_(3))can be evaluated to inform policy effectiveness and develop reasonable emissions reduction *** study investigated the causes of summertime maximum daily 8-h average(MDA8)O_(3) variation between 2015 and 2020 in Nanjing,China,a megacity in the Yangtze River Delta(YRD)region,from the perspective of meteorological conditions and anthropogenic emissions of O_(3) precursors(VOCs and NO_(x)).Compared with 2015,the observed MDA8 O_(3) decreased by 19.1μg/m^(3) in August *** indirect and indirect impacts of meteorological conditions contributed 44%of the decline,with temperature,relative humidity,and wind playing important roles in the O_(3) *** O_(3) drop by 10.7μg/m^(3)(56%of the total decrease)may have been due to the decreases in anthropogenic emissions of VOCs and NO_(x) by 7.8%and 11.7%,*** longer hydroxyl(OH)radical chain length and higher ozone production efficiency(OPE)indicated that the reduction of anthropogenic emissions accelerated the RO_(x)(RO_(x)=OH+HO_(2)+RO_(2))and NO_(x) cycles in O_(3) production,making O_(3) more sensitive to NO_(x).This corresponded to the O_(3) formation shifting from a VOC-limited regime in 2015 to a transition regime in 2020 and O_(3) decrease with anthropogenic emission ***,the joint control of O_(3) precursor emissions can effectively mitigate O_(3) pollution in Nanjing.

The event-triggered control problem of switched nonlinear cyber-physical systems (CPSs) is investigated under average dwell time (ADT). A new dynamic gain is proposed, which can effectively compensate for the unknown growth rate and measurement sensitivity. Then, a switched observer integrated with a novel dynamic gain is designed and an event-triggered output feedback controller is developed, which can effectively mitigate the communication burden. Finally, it is proved that all the closed-loop signals are bounded and all system states converge to the origin. Accordingly, the effectiveness of the presented scheme is verified through the simulation of switched RLC circuit system. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper studies the issue of observer-based feedback stabilisation for a class of linear sampleddatasystems with model uncertainty and external disturbance. First, for a sampled-data systemwith external disturbance, a sampled-data observer is designed to estimate the system ***, a robust H∞ controller based on the observer is developed. For a continuous samplinginterval, the gain matrices of both observer and controller change exponentially. Second,using the state coordinate transformations with an exponential rate, a unified dynamics is constructedby augmenting the state estimation error and the closed-loop system state as a newstate. Next, the sufficient conditions ensuring the asymptotical stability of the closed-loop systemare given by the Lyapunov–Krasovskii method and linear matrix inequality (LMI) ***, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by a helicopter model.
