A dual-band absorber based on graphene and cavity array is designed and investigated. The simulation results using the finite-difference-time-domain (FDTD) method show that two near-perfect absorption peaks both appear at THz frequencies. The two resonant frequencies are caused by different electric field distributions, resulting in different tuning properties. The absorption peaks are tuned by adjusting the chemical potential of monolayer graphene. In addition, the influence of the structural parameter such as period, thickness of dielectric layer, depth and radius of circular cavity on the absorption characteristics of the absorber is studied. © 2022, The Authors. A multimodal progressive fusion bearing fault diagnosis algorithm based on residual network

Bearings are crucial components of rotating machinery in critical industrial equipment such as wind turbines, high-speed trains, and aerospace engines. Existing methods for bearing fault diagnosis are generally confined to superficial integration of multi-sensor or multi-domain data, constrained by either poor heterogeneous information integration in early fusion approaches or information loss and imbalanced modality representations caused by late fusion strategies, resulting in limited diagnostic effectiveness under complex and dynamic industrial operating conditions. To solve this issue, we propose a multimodal progressive fusion bearing fault diagnosis algorithm based on residual networks. The algorithm integrates multi-sensor and multi-domain data and automatically extracts fault features using residual networks. Then, an improved progressive feature fusion technique is applied to optimise the utilisation of the multimodal features, which aims to allow earlier layers to access later fused features, avoiding the loss of important information and improving the fusion representation over multiple iterations. The diagnostic efficacy of the proposed method is validated using two different bearing datasets, achieving a diagnostic accuracy of 99.97% for composite faults. This advancement shows the great potential for implementation on industrial IoT platforms, especially in scenarios such as power generation and transport where predictive maintenance is required, reducing unplanned downtime and maintenance costs. © 2001-2012 IEEE.

The resistive leakage current in surge protectors is an important indicator to characterise its aging degree. It is of great significance to accurately extract the resistive components from the total leakage current for online monitoring of the surge protectors. An improved phase-shift current method is proposed to extract the weak resistive components. The fundamental frequency and phase-shift angle of the total leakage current are determined by the measures of zero-crossing detection, low-pass filtering, and phase measurement on the leakage current. The resistive components extracted from simulation and experimental data by this improved method are analysed with FFT. The results show that the improved method can significantly improve the extraction accuracy of the fundamental and harmonic resistive components. © 2019 Institution of Engineering and Technology. The error of sounding temperature sensor with bead thermistor induced by solar radiation seriously affects the accuracy of temperature measurement. To solve this problem, this paper presents a novel numerical analysis method based on computational fluid dynamics to correct solar radiation error. The error thermal analysis model of sounding temperature sensor with bead thermistor is established from ground to 32km altitude with different air pressures, and computational fluid dynamics is employed for numerical simulation analysis of solar radiation error. The solar radiation errors are reported in different physical parameters such as the altitude, the direction of solar radiation and the surface coating reflectivity of sensor. The results show that the solar radiation errors present a nonlinear monotone increasing trend with the rise of altitude. Among the errors caused by solar radiation, the error is biggest in the direction perpendicular to the front of the sensor. The simulation results also indicate that the solar radiation error can be significantly reduced by improving the surface coating reflectivity of sensor. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd. Compressed Sensing MRI via a Multi-scale Dilated Residual Convolution Network

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) reconstruction is an active inverse problem which can be addressed by conventional compressed sensing (CS) MRI algorithms that exploit the sparse nature of MRI in an iterative optimization-based manner. However, two main drawbacks of iterative optimization-based CSMRI methods are time-consuming and are limited in model capacity. Meanwhile, one main challenge for recent deep learning-based CSMRI is the trade-off between model performance and network size. To address the above issues, we develop a new multi-scale dilated network for MRI reconstruction with high speed and outstanding performance. Comparing to convolutional kernels with same receptive fields, dilated convolutions reduce network parameters with smaller kernels and expand receptive fields of kernels to obtain almost same information. To maintain the abundance of features, we present global and local residual learnings to extract more image edges and details. Then we utilize concatenation layers to fuse multi-scale features and residual learnings for better reconstruction. Compared with several non-deep and deep learning CSMRI algorithms, the proposed method yields better reconstruction accuracy and noticeable visual improvements. In addition, we perform the noisy setting to verify the model stability, and then extend the proposed model on a MRI super-resolution task. keywords: MRI Reconstruction, Dilated Convolution, Residual Learning, Copyright © 2019, The Authors. Gravitational-wave high-energy Electromagnetic Counterpart All-sky Monitor (GECAM) is a space-borne instrument dedicated to monitoring high-energy transients, including Terrestrial Gamma-ray Flashes (TGFs) and Terrestrial Electron Beams (TEBs). We implemented a TGF/TEB search algorithm for GECAM, with which 147 bright TGFs, 2 typical TEBs and 2 special TEB-like events are identified during an effective observation time of ∼9 months. We show that, with gamma-ray and charged particle detectors, GECAM can effectively identify and distinguish TGFs and TEBs, and measure their temporal and spectral properties in detail. A very high TGF-lightning association rate of ∼80% is obtained between GECAM and GLD360 in east Asia region. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Tunable Supercontinuum Generated in a Yb^3＋-Doped Microstructure Fiber Pumped by Ti：Sapphire Femtosecond Laser

We experimentally demonstrate that a tunable supercontinuum（SC） can be generated in a Yb3＋-doped microstructure fiber by the concept of wavelength conversion with a Ti：sapphire femtosecond（fs） laser as the *** results show that an emission light around 1040 nm in an anomalous dispersion region is first generated and amplified by fs pulses in the normal dispersion region. Then, SC spectra from 1100 to 1380 nm and 630 to 840 nm can be achieved by combined effects of higher-order soliton fission and Raman soliton self-frequency shift in the anomalous dispersion region and self-phase modulation, dispersive wave, and four-wave mixing in the normal dispersion region. It is also demonstrated that the 20 nm change of pump results in a 280 nm broadband shift of soliton and the further red-shift of soliton is limited by OH-absorption at 1380 nm.

An E-type Temperature Sensor for Upper Air Meteorology

An E-type high-precision temperature sensor, which is adopted for upper air meteorology, was proposed in this paper. A computational fluid dynamics(CFD) method was implemented to analyze temperature rise induced by solar radiation at different altitudes and solar radiation intensities. A temperature rise correction equation was obtained by fitting the CFD results using a Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno(BFGS) method. To verify the performance of the temperature sensor, an experimental platform was constructed. Through simulations and experiments, the relationship among the altitude, solar radiation intensity and radiation temperature rise was obtaned. The root-mean-square error(RMSE) between the temperature rise derived from the correction equation and that derived from the experiments is 0.013 K. The sample determination coefficient r2 of the solar radiation error correction equation is 0.9975.
