This paper explores the contributions of various features in semantic role lab.ling. Moreover, an optimal set of features is selected using a greedy strategy. Finally, an effective headword-driven pruning algorithm is proposed to filter out irrelavant instances. Evaluation on the CoNLL'2005 SRL benchmark corpus shows that our method achieved comparable performance with the best-reported ones on a single automatic parse tree.

In this paper, we present a two-hop-relay WCDMA cellular system with queueing capability, where a call can wait in the incoming buffer at the congested Base Transceiver Station (BTS) if no channel is immediately availab.e, so as to reduce the call blocking rate. We develop an analytic model based on Multidimensional Markov chains. Then based on this model, we can obtain the average transmission rate and the queuing delay performance of the system respectively. Finally, through numerical calculation, we analyze the impact of the various parameters on the performance of the two-hop-relay WCDMA cellular system with queueing capability.

Sidechain prediction is an important subproblem of protein design and structure prediction. Construction of rotamer library is the basis for protein sidechain prediction because it provides the basic searching space for prediction. However, the state-of-the-art rotamer libraries focus on the statistical information of individual amino acids, ignoring the direct affection of its adjacent amino acids. This article presents a sequence- and backbone-dependent rotamer library. Both the conformation information of adjacent amino acids and torsion angle of the current residue are taken into account to construct a sequence- and backbone-dependent library by HMM. Evaluation on all 13 free modeling targets of CASP8 based on our rotamer library is conducted. Comparing with side-chain prediction based on the state-of-the-art rotamer library, our library outperforms the sidechain prediction accuracy on all the test targets to a certain extent.

T43 paper investigates the matching problem between radio resources and multi-homing services in a dynamic heterogeneous wireless environment. A mobile terminal (MT) with multi-homing service simultaneously transmits data to multiple radio access networks using multiple air interfaces. We develop an energy efficient resource matching algorithm for statistically guaranteeing the transmission rate of each MT with the minimum power consumption. Firstly, aided with the resource matching conception and the dynamic characteristics of wireless channels, we propose a matching probability metric to construct resource matching model for maximizing energy efficiency of all MTs subject to statistical guarantee requirements, and simplify the dynamic channels characteristic based on matching theory. Secondly, we propose a two-level distributed matching algorithm (TLDMA), with inner minimum power consumption and outer maximum matching probability, which realizes joint optimal allocation of bandwidth, transmission power and rate. Simulation results show that TLDMA outperforms conventional algorithms in terms of wireless resources management. © 2018 IEEE.

Wireless sensor networks are usually deployed in complex environments;an attacker can easily inject false data by capturing nodes, causing serious consequences. The main work of this paper is as follows. Firstly, the logical loop model is created based on the estimated value of the source events of every wireless sensor network node. Secondly, each node based on RSSI find neighbor nodes by establishing consistency loop model. Finally, the malicious node is determined by comparing the similarities and differences of the nodes between the two loop models. The simulation shows that this mechanism is effective to inhibit the infringement of malicious nodes to the network, and improve network security performance. © 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

Existing localization algorithms didn't consider the important factor of the antenna measuring angles. And most wireless indoor localization algorithms require a site survey process which is time-consuming and lab.r-intensive. This paper presents a featured region localization algorithm without site survey and discusses the measured angle in different intervals. According to the relationship among the fingerprints sets of the same angle interval, our proposed algorithm is used to find the featured points within the region. Regions of points are determined by calculating Euclidean distance between the points and APs (Access Points). Experiments are conducted in an 8m by 8m lab.ratory, and results show that this algorithm has superior performance compared with existing algorithms. © 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

Link Detection (abbr. LDT) is to determine whether two stories discuss the same topic in Topic Detection and Tracking (abbr. TDT) track. The key issue is to correctly measure the relevance between two stories. Most researches on LDT use a series of independent words to describe stories (each story is a text specially discussing news), and the relevance between two stories is determined based on the percentage and weight of overlapping words between them. Although substantial improvement has been achieved, inadequate descriptions of word sense and semantics still have negative influences on the accuracy of LDT. In this paper we propose an online semantic tree, which is hierarchically constructed by the most relevant words extracted from previous story streams. In online semantic tree, word sense is described by a series of words in a sense closed-loop, and semantic relation among words is measured by depth and width of level that words locate in. In LDT, online semantic tree is built for each story, and the relevance between two stories is determined by measuring the KL divergence between their online semantic trees. The method performs quite well on TDT4 corpus. The Min Norm CDet of the method in testing is 0.2274 lower than that of the baseline.

Computed Tomography (CT) is an imaging technique widely used in clinical diagnosis. However, high-attenuation metallic implants result in the obstruction of low-energy Xrays and further lead to metal artifacts in the reconstructed CT images. Deep supervised model-based metal artifact reduction(MAR) approaches are limited in clinical applications due to the difficulty in obtaining paired artifact-affected and artifactfree data. Furthermore, these model-based methods lack the consideration of data consistency in the sinogram-domain to perform exact metal trace inpainting. To address these challenges, we propose a Data-consistent unsupErVised diffusiOn model for meTal artifact rEDuction, called DEVOTED-Net. First, DEVOTED-Net leverages prior knowledge to guide the conditional diffusion model for fine-grained metal trace inpainting. Second, an unsupervised MAR framework is designed in the reverse process for the unknown metal traces restoration in the sinogram domain. Third, to further enhance the sinogram-domain data consistency, physics-based consistency constraint loss including conjugateray consistency loss and accumulation-ray consistency loss is designed. Extensive experiments are carried out to verify the performance of our algorithm on the publicly availab.e dataset and clinical experimental dataset. This efficient, accurate, and reliable MAR approach holds great potential in clinics. © 2023 IEEE.
