Video Question Answering (VideoQA) is an important research direction in the field of artificial intelligence, enabling machines to understand video content and perform reasoning and answering based on natural language questions. Although methods based on static relationship reasoning have made certain progress, there are still deficiencies in the accuracy of static relationship recognition and representation, and they have not fully utilized the static relationship information in videos for in-depth reasoning and analysis. Therefore, this paper proposes a reasoning method for intra-type and inter-type message passing based on static relationships. This method constructs a dual graph for intra-type message passing reasoning and builds a heterogeneous graph based on static relationships for inter-type message passing reasoning. The intra-type message passing reasoning model captures the neighborhood information of targets and relationships related to the question in the dual graph, updating the dual graph to obtain intra-type clues for answering the question. The inter-type message passing reasoning model captures the neighborhood information of targets and relationships from different categories related to the question in the heterogeneous graph, updating the heterogeneous graph to obtain inter-type clues for answering the question. Finally, the answers are inferred by combining the intra-type and inter-type clues based on static relationships. Existing referring video object segmentation methods segment the target object referred by one referring expression or a simple group of multiple referring expressions by word concatenation in all video frames, which might still suffer from the issue of wrong object identification. To solve this problem, we propose a new transformer-based framework built upon hybrid referring expressions. To fully explore the multi-model fusion, three interaction methods are studied, and the early interaction shows the best alignment between discriminative video features and multi-language semantics. Moreover, two ways are explored to generate conditional queries in transformer-based methods, and the proposed word-group level method can better represent the target instance. Experiments on the large-scale Ref-YoutubeVOS benchmark show that the proposed model achieves 63.8% J & F, exceeding the state-of-the-art methods.

Adaptive steganography emplaces the message into the hard-to-detect noise area or the complex texture area of the image, so the steganography analysis method based on artificial design features needs to design a very complex feature extraction algorithm to detect the steganography image. In view of the advantages of deep learning steganography in automatic extraction of image features and high detection accuracy, an image steganography analysis algorithm is designed by using deep convolutional neural network, and an image steganography analysis system based on deep learning is developed. The system realizes the functions of neural network structure analysis, image steganography and verification, steganography analysis and so on. The system simplifies the operation process of algorithm comparison, reduces the complexity of algorithm performance evaluation, and verifies the feasibility of the proposed algorithm. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Cerebral perfusion computed tomography(PCT)is an important imaging modality for evaluating cerebrovascular diseases and stroke *** widespread public concern about the potential cancer risks and health hazards associated with cumulative radiation exposure in PCT imaging,considerable research has been conducted to reduce the radiation dose in X-ray-based brain perfusion *** the dose of X-rays causes severe noise and artifacts in PCT *** solve this problem,we propose a deep learning method called *** exceptional characteristics of non-subsampled contourlet transform(NSCT)and the Sobel filter are introduced into *** decomposes the convolved features into high-and low-frequency *** decomposed high-frequency component retains image edges,contrast imaging traces,and noise,whereas the low-frequency component retains the main image *** Sobel filter extracts the contours of the original image and the imaging traces caused by the contrast agent *** extracted information is added to NCS-Unet to improve its performance in noise reduction and artifact *** and quantitative analyses demonstrated that the proposed NCS-Unet can improve the quality of low-dose cone-beam CT perfusion reconstruction images and the accuracy of perfusion parameter calculations.

Deep learning methods have shown significant potential in retinopathy classification using optical coherence tomography (OCT) images. However, substantial challenges arise due to domain shift issues, which are attributable to heterogeneity in data collection devices, variations in subject populations, and discrepancies in imaging protocols and parameters. To address these, we propose a novel approach leveraging Disentangling Representation and Adaptation Networks (DRANet) to enhance the robustness and generalization of retinopathy classification models across different OCT datasets. Our methodology involves developing DRANet, a specialized network architecture designed to disentangle representations of data and facilitate domain adaptation. DRANet includes components for learning invariant representations across domains through adversarial training, ensuring robustness against domain shifts. DRANet encodes individual representations of content and style from both source and target images. Then, it adapts the domain by incorporating the transferred style factor into the content factor, along with learnable weights specified for each domain. This learning framework allows bidirectional domain. After conducting extensive experiments conducted on three public datasets achieved accuracies of $\mathrm{8 8 \%, ~} \mathrm{9 0 \%}$, and $\mathrm{9 2 \%}$ under three cross-domain scenarios, demonstrating the efficacy of our approach in mitigating domain shift effects and improving retinopathy classification performance.

The automatic detection of skin diseases via dermoscopic images can improve the efficiency in diagnosis and help doctors make more accurate judgments. However, conventional skin disease recognition systems may produce high confidence for out-of-distribution (OOD) data, which may become a major security vulnerability in practical applications. In this paper, we propose a multi-scale detection framework to detect out-of-distribution skin disease image data to ensure the robustness of the system. Our framework extracts features from different layers of the neural network. In the early layers, rectified activation is used to make the output features closer to the well-behaved distribution, and then an one-class SVM is trained to detect OOD data;in the penultimate layer, an adapted Gram matrix is used to calculate the features after rectified activation, and finally the layer with the best performance is chosen to compute a normality score. Experiments show that the proposed framework achieves superior performance when compared with other state-of-the-art methods in the task of skin disease recognition. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

We study the problem of imitation learning in automated decision systems, in which a learner is trained to imitate an expert demonstrator. A widely used method is adversarial imitation learning that alternately optimizes a generator (learner) and a discriminator (reward function). However, the discriminator is biased during the initial and intermediate training stages. Consequently, the gradient descent direction of the learner is misguided, which leads to unstable training and sample complexity. In this paper, we propose deep imitation learning through a guidance-based policy distillation (GIL) algorithm. First, GIL proposes a teacher model, the guidance-based variational autoencoder, which is pre-trained with expert demonstrations. Then, GIL proposes a perturbation-based policy distillation method that uses the teacher model to guide the learner in the correct optimization direction, enabling the learner to imitate the expert policy with fewer detours. The experimental results show that our approach achieve higher sample efficiency compared with multiple baselines.

Insulator exposed to a wild environment for long-term running usually suffers from the damage of natural calamities that makes them become one of the most fragile components in the whole power system. In this case, even a slight fault will seriously affect the power supply safety of the power grid. Therefore, it is critical to find and identify the faulty insulator efficiently and accurately. However, an insulator is quite a small component in comparison with a huge power system which makes it hard to visible with naked eyes. This characteristic leads to poor recognition accuracy for existing detection methods. In order to solve the above problems, we propose an insulator defect detection algorithm based on an improved YOLOv4-tiny model. It differs from existing insulator detection models, our algorithm applies the effective channel attention network to the feature extraction network of YOLOv4-tiny, which significantly enhances the feature extraction ability of the backbone network. These two-way features of the pyramid can be fully fused in the two-way feature fusion stages seamlessly. Experimental results show that compared with, our proposed algorithm outperforms Faster RCNN and YOLOv3 in average classification accuracy, missed detection, and false detection. © 2022 IEEE.
