Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) can be applied in many Internet of Things (IoT) systems, e.g., smart farms, as a data collection platform. However, the UAV-IoT wireless channels may be occasionally blocked by trees or high-rise buildings. Intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) can be applied to improve the wireless channel quality by smartly reflecting the signal via a large number of low-cost passive reflective elements. This paper aims to minimize the energy consumption of the system by jointly optimizing the deployment and trajectory of the UAV. The problem can be formulated as a mixed-integer- and-nonlinear-programming (MINLP), which is difficult to be addressed by the traditional solution, which may be easily fall into the local optimal. To address this issue, we propose a Joint Optimization framework of depLoyment and Trajectory (JOLT), where an adaptive whale optimization algorithm (AWOA) is applied to optimize the deployment of the UAV, and an elastic ring self-organizing map (ERSOM) is introduced to optimize the trajectory of the UAV. Specifically, in AWOA, a variable-length population strategy is applied to find the optimal number of stop points, and a nonlinear parameter a and a partial mutation rule are introduced to balance the exploration and exploitation. In ERSOM, a competitive neural network is also introduced to learn the trajectory of the UAV by competitive learning, and a ring structure is presented to avoid the trajectory intersection. Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) is emerging as a promising technology for next-generation wireless communication networks, offering a variety of merits such as the ability to tailor the communication environment. Moreover, deploying multiple RISs helps mitigate severe signal blocking between the base station (BS) and users, providing a practical and efficient solution to enhance the service coverage. However, fully reaping the potential of a multi-RIS aided communication system requires solving a non-convex optimization problem. This challenge motivates the adoption of learning-based methods for determining the optimal policy. In this paper, we introduce a novel heterogeneous graph neural network (GNN) to effectively leverage the graph topology of a wireless communication environment. Specifically, we design an association scheme that selects a suitable RIS for each user. Then, we maximize the weighted sum rate (WSR) of all the users by iteratively optimizing the RIS association scheme, and beamforming designs until the considered heterogeneous GNN converges. Based on the proposed approach, each user is associated with the best RIS, which is shown to significantly improve the system capacity in multi-RIS multiuser millimeter wave (mmWave) communications. Specifically, simulation results demonstrate that the proposed heterogeneous GNN closely approaches the performance of the high-complexity alternating optimization (AO) algorithm in the considered multi-RIS aided communication system, and it outperforms other benchmark schemes. Moreover, the performance improvement achieved through the RIS association scheme is shown to be of the order of 30%. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Fatigue driving is a common potential traffic safety hazard. To detect and analysis the driver Fatigue degree in real-time, more attention have been increasing paid to application research of EEG fatigue detection device. However, existing methods suffer from complex model structure or large-scale model parameters. In the other words, they requires high computational consumption and large memory footprint, which creates a contradiction between model and portable EEG machine with limited hardware resources. In this work, we take both time and frequency domains of EEG signal into account and design an lightweight and efficient driver fatigue detection network based on GCN (EEG-GNet), which is available edge-end device application. Experiments on 4th Raspberry Pi on a public baseline dataset show that our EEG-GNet outperforms the state-of-the-art methods and takes good tradeoff between detection accuracy and resource consumption. Our EEG-GNet provides a new potential opportunity for future applications in practical portable/wearable (P/W) devices. © 2024 IEEE.

Fast Algorithm for Parallel Solving Inversion of Large Scale Small Matrices Based on Gpu

Inverting a matrix is time-consuming, and many works focus on accelerating inverting a single large matrix by GPU. However, the problem of inverting large-scale small matrices has little attention. In this paper, we propose a Revised In-Place Inversion algorithm for inverting large-scale small matrices, which runs on the CUDA platform and utilizes multicore GPUs. The proposed algorithm is well-suited for large-scale-small matrices (dimension $n \leq 32$), which can invert millions of small matrices within tens of milliseconds. In addition, we find there is an upper bound of input data size for each GPU device, the performance will degrade if the input data size is too large. Hence, we improve the proposed method by dividing matrices into batches according to this finding. Experimental results show that this strategy can effectively alleviate the performance degradation for inverting large scale small matrices, and maintain the high-performance execution of the algorithm. © 2022, The Authors. Negative information filtering algorithm based on text content in multimedia networks

In the multimedia network environment, it is necessary to effectively filter negative information in the multimedia network and enhance the ability to mine and identify valid data. This paper presents a new algorithm of negative information filtering based on text content in multimedia networks. The principal component features of negative information in multimedia networks are extracted, and matched filters are designed to filter the negative information reasonably. All text contents and negative information are normalized and sorted. They are transformed into the same text format for classification and processing, and the filtering and detection of negative information are realized. Finally, based on the semantic features of text content, the support vector machine algorithm is used to extract negative information features from data. Experimental results show that the algorithm improves the filtering accuracy and performance for negative information in multimedia networks, and it has good application value. © 2019 Totem Publisher, Inc. Hybrid chaotic encryption algorithm for securing DICOM systems

The DICOM system contains patients' personal privacy and may present a risk of information leakage in telemedicine diagnostics. In order to solve the security problem of the DICOM system, we propose a medical image encryption method based on the cross-diffusion of the logistic map and the Chebyshev map. We first parse the DICOM image and read the data elements, and then we use the logistic map and the Chebyshev map to generate a key. Then, we cross-use these two sequences for further image encryption diffusion. Finally, we conduct in-depth experiments and comparisons with existing algorithms to validate the characteristics of high security and low correlation of adjacent pixels of the proposed encryption algorithm. © 2019 Totem Publisher, Inc. This study focuses on the application of large models to deal with imbalanced data problems in text classification. In view of the central position of text in web data and the negative impact of class imbalance on classifier performance, researchers have explored the method of using large models to generate high-quality minority class samples to enhance model performance. This paper reviews the technical progress of machine learning, deep learning, and large language models and their applications in text classification tasks. Although large models perform well in complex tasks due to their excellent language understanding ability, traditional machine learning and deep learning methods are popular in text classification scenarios that require fast response due to their simple structure and higher computational efficiency. This study proposes a data augmentation technique inspired by SMOTE, which uses a large language model combined with a simple prompt engineering strategy to generate high-quality minority samples. The experimental results show that the proposed method significantly improves the macro average precision, recall and F1 score on multiple text classification models, and effectively alleviates the challenge of class imbalance.

RGBT tracking receives a surge of interest in the computer vision community, but this research field lacks a large-scale and high-diversity benchmark dataset, which is essential for both the training of deep RGBT trackers and the comprehensive evaluation of RGBT tracking methods. To this end, we present a Large-scale High-diversity benchmark for short-term RGBT tracking (LasHeR) in this work. LasHeR consists of 1224 visible and thermal infrared video pairs with more than 730K frame pairs in total. Each frame pair is spatially aligned and manually annotated with a bounding box, making the dataset well and densely annotated. LasHeR is highly diverse capturing from a broad range of object categories, camera viewpoints, scene complexities and environmental factors across seasons, weathers, day and night. We conduct a comprehensive performance evaluation of 12 RGBT tracking algorithms on the LasHeR dataset and present detailed analysis. In addition, we release the unaligned version of LasHeR to attract the research interest for alignment-free RGBT tracking, which is a more practical task in real-world applications. BeFA: A General Behavior-driven Feature Adapter for Multimedia Recommendation

Multimedia recommender systems focus on utilizing behavioral information and content information to model user preferences. Typically, it employs pre-trained feature encoders to extract content features, then fuses them with behavioral features. However, pre-trained feature encoders often extract features from the entire content simultaneously, including excessive preference-irrelevant details. We speculate that it may result in the extracted features not containing sufficient features to accurately reflect user preferences. To verify our hypothesis, we introduce an attribution analysis method for visually and intuitively analyzing the content features. The results indicate that certain items’ content features exhibit the issues of information drift and information omission, reducing the expressive ability of features. Building upon this finding, we propose an effective and efficient general Behavior-driven Feature Adapter (BeFA) to tackle these issues. This adapter reconstructs the content feature with the guidance of behavioral information, enabling content features accurately reflecting user preferences. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the adapter across all multimedia recommendation methods. Our code is made publicly available on https://***/fqldom/BeFA. Convergence analysis of particle swarm optimization algorithm

Using Particle Swarm Optimization to handle complex functions with high-dimension it has the problems of low convergence speed and sensitivity to local convergence. The convergence of particle swarm algorithm is studied from the dynamic system theory, and the condition for the convergence of particle swarm algorithm is given. The analysis provided qualitative guidelines for the general algorithm parameter selection. Results of numerical tests show the efficiency of the results.
