The multiplex network has attracted wide attention because it can better describe the various relationships in the real world, and the duplex network is a special two-layer form of it. The purpose of this research focuses on introducing new entropy-based measures for multiplex network, especially duplex network. The new measure called Interactive entropy in duplex network (IE) is based on information entropy, a key concept of information theory. The Master-Slave Encoder Model for Improving Patent Text Summarization: A New Approach to Combining Specifications and Claims

In order to solve the problem of insufficient generation quality caused by traditional patent text abstract generation models only originating from patent specifications, the problem of new terminology OOV caused by rapid patent updates, and the problem of information redundancy caused by insufficient consideration of the high professionalism, accuracy, and uniqueness of patent texts, we proposes a patent text abstract generation model (MSEA) based on a master-slave encoder architecture;Firstly, the MSEA model designs a master-slave encoder, which combines the instructions in the patent text with the claims as input, and fully explores the characteristics and details between the two through the master-slave encoder;Then, the model enhances the consideration of new technical terms in the input sequence based on the pointer network, and further enhances the correlation with the input text by re weighing the "remembered" and "for-gotten" parts of the input sequence from the encoder;Finally, an enhanced repetition suppression mechanism for patent text was introduced to ensure accurate and non redundant abstracts generated. On a publicly available patent text dataset, compared to the state-of-the-art model, Improved Multi-Head Attention Mechanism (IMHAM), the MSEA model achieves an improvement of 0.006, 0.005, and 0.005 in Rouge-1, Rouge-2, and Rouge-L scores, respectively. MSEA leverages the characteristics of patent texts to effectively enhance the quality of patent text generation, demonstrating its advancement and effectiveness in the experiments. In this paper, we address the task of extracting aspects and opinions by adopting a generative end-to-end deep learning model. And we address the challenge of limited high-quality labeled data in aspect-based sentiment analysis by introducing a data augmentation method. To evaluate the effectiveness of our proposed generative model and data augmentation technique in the healthcare domain, we collected reviews related to diagnosis and treatment from online health communities(OHC) and verified the effectiveness of the proposed model. The experimental results demonstrate the superiority of generative models in complex aspect-based sentiment analysis tasks, showing a noteworthy nearly 13% increase in F1 score. Furthermore, we find that our data augmentation method is effective in enhancing the experimental outcomes. Our work contributes to the advancement of natural language processing techniques in the healthcare domain, and it has the potential to improve the quality of healthcare services through more fine-grained analysis of patients' feedback. In the relentless pursuit of scientific advancement, comprehending the profound impact and innovation nature inherent in funded research projects assumes paramount significance. To illuminate this matter, I delve into the realm of research supported by the esteemed National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the distinguished National Science Foundation (NSF). Our evaluative framework encompasses a spectrum of metrics, including the 5-year citation, normalized citation, and citation to patents, as markers of research impact. Moreover, I embrace ex-ante innovation (Novelty) and ex-post innovation (Disruption) as dual indispensable yardsticks for evaluating the innovative nature of research projects. Novelty denotes the manifestation of atypical combinations of existing knowledge, while Disruption signifies the extent of paradigm-shifting potential and the ability to exert a disruptive influence on future research endeavors. First, the analysis reveals that funded research projects manifest a conspicuously heightened impact in comparison to their non-funded counterparts. Second, I uncover a noteworthy finding, namely that funded research demonstrates significantly higher levels of ex-ante innovation (Novelty). However, in a surprising twist, the investigation also uncovers that funded research exhibits significantly lower levels of ex-post innovation (Disruption). Additionally, I undertake a meticulous scrutiny of the robustness of the research findings by scrutinizing patterns across disparate years and fields. This comprehensive analysis further unveils inconspicuous heterogeneity, thus substantiating the multifaceted nature of funded research and the vast potential for its innovation across various disciplines and temporal dimensions. © 2023, The Authors. The K-Step H Indices in Citation Networks at the Paper, Author, and Institution Levels

From the viewpoint of high-generation citation networks, h indices can be extended to global metrics at both basic and aggregated levels. To accomplish this, three types of networks are designed: the paper-paper network, the author-paper-paper network, and the institution-paper-paper network. The k-step h index is then proposed at the level of papers, authors, and institutions, respectively. Through a comprehensive empirical study based on the APS dataset, it is found that the k-step h index extends the depth and dimensionality of the Hirsh core, allowing for more global information. The consistency and convergent validity of the k-step h indices are quantitatively assessed. The results indicate that the k-step h index demonstrates a high degree of consistency and focuses on the potential for further research, and is capable of measuring the long-term reputation rather than short-term popularity. The convergent validity of the k-step h indices is rigorously tested using benchmark examples such as Nobel laureates and their publications, and they demonstrate superior performance in identifying seminal papers and prominent scientists compared to traditional metrics at the paper and author levels. The k-step h index also excels in ranking institutions, offering a promising new approach for evaluating the impact and influence of scientific entities at both the basic and aggregate levels. Recent experiment has uncovered semimetal bismuth (Bi) as an excellent electrical contact to monolayer MoS2 with ultralow contact resistance. The contact physics of the broader semimetal/monolayer-semiconductor family beyond Bi/MoS2, however, remains largely unexplored thus far. Here we perform a comprehensive first-principle density functional theory investigation on the electrical contact properties between six archetypal two-dimensional (2D) transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) semiconductors, i.e. MoS2, WS2, MoSe2, WSe2, MoTe2 and WTe2, and two representative types of semimetals, Bi and antimony (Sb). As Bi and Sb work functions energetically aligns well with the TMDC conduction band edge, Ohmic or nearly-Ohmic n-type contacts are prevalent. The interlayer distance of semimetal/TMDC contacts are significantly larger than that of the metal/TMDC counterparts, which results in only weak metalization of TMDC upon contact formation. Intriguingly, such weak metalization generates semimetal-induced gap states (MIGS) that extends below the conduction band minimum, thus offering an effective mechanism to reduce or eliminate the n-type Schottky barrier height (SBH) while still preserving the electronic structures of 2D TMDC. A modified Schottky-Mott rule that takes into account SMIGS, interface dipole potential, and Fermi level shifting is proposed, which provides an improved agreement with the DFT-simulated SBH. We further show that the tunneling-specific resistivity of Sb/TMDC contacts are generally lower than the Bi counterparts, thus indicating a better charge injection efficiency can be achieved through Sb contacts. Our findings reveal the promising potential of Bi and Sb as excellent companion electrode materials for advancing 2D semiconductor device technology. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. Publishing articles in high-impact English journals is difficult for scholars around the world, especially for non-native English-speaking scholars (NNESs), most of whom struggle with proficiency in English. In order to uncover the differences in English scientific writing between native English-speaking scholars (NESs) and NNESs, we collected a large-scale data set containing more than 150,000 full-text articles published in PLoS between 2006 and 2015. We divided these articles into three groups according to the ethnic backgrounds of the first and corresponding authors, obtained by Ethnea, and examined the scientific writing styles in English from a two-fold perspective of linguistic complexity: (1) syntactic complexity, including measurements of sentence length and sentence complexity;and (2) lexical complexity, including measurements of lexical diversity, lexical density, and lexical sophistication.
