Design of ultralow power receiver front-ends for 2.4 GHz wireless sensor network applications

This paper presents the design of an ultralow power receiver front-end designed for a wireless sensor network （WSN） in a 0.18 μm CMOS process. The author designs two front-ends working in the saturation region and the subthreshold region respectively. The front-ends contain a two-stage cross-coupling cascaded common-gate （CG） LNA and a quadrature Gilbert IQ mixer. The measured conversion gain is variable with high gain at 24 dB and low gain at 7 dB for the saturation one, and high gain at 22 dB and low gain at 5 dB for the subthreshold one. The noise figure （NF） at high gain mode is 5.1 dB and 6.3 dB for each. The input 1 dB compression point （IPldB） at low gain mode is about -6 dBm and -3 dBm for each. The front-ends consume about 2.1 mA current from 1.8 V power supply for the saturation one and 1.3 mA current for the subthreshold one. The measured results show that, comparing with the power consumption saving, it is worth making sacrifices on the performance for using the subthreshold technology.

Heterogeneous wireless network selection algorithm based on group decision

In the environment of heterogeneous wireless networks, it is vital to select a currently optimal network for applications and subscribers. The use of multiple attribute decision making （MADM） for heterogeneous network selection can provide subscribers with satisfactory service quality. Converting heterogeneous network selection into a MADM problem, the authors present an improved algorithm for MADM based on group decision theory. The algorithm combines weight vectors of multiple attribute decision making to obtain a combinational weight vector. Then the results＇ compatibility will be assessed. If they do not meet the requirements of compatibility, the judgment matrix will be modified until a comprehensive vector that satisfies compatibility requirements is produced. The vector is combined with simple weighting method （SAW） for network selection. Simulation shows that the algorithm can provide users with satisfactory quality of service （QoS）.

Currently,the cloud computing systems use simple key-value data processing,which cannot support similarity search efectively due to lack of efcient index structures,and with the increase of dimensionality,the existing tree-like index structures could lead to the problem of"the curse of dimensionality".In this paper,a novel VF-CAN indexing scheme is ***-CAN integrates content addressable network(CAN)based routing protocol and the improved vector approximation fle(VA-fle) *** are two index levels in this scheme:global index and local *** local index VAK-fle is built for the data in each storage ***-fle is thek-means clustering result of VA-fle approximation vectors according to their degree of *** cluster forms a separate local index fle and each fle stores the approximate vectors that are contained in the *** vector of each cluster center is stored in the cluster center information fle of corresponding storage *** the global index,storage nodes are organized into an overlay network CAN,and in order to reduce the cost of calculation,only clustering information of local index is issued to the entire overlay network through the CAN *** experimental results show that VF-CAN reduces the index storage space and improves query performance efectively.

Due to a rapid increase in the number of functionally equivalent web services at open and dynamic Io T service environment,Qo S has become a major discrimination factor to reflect the user's expectation and experience of using a *** are different languages and models for expressing Qo S advertisements and requirements among service providers and ***,it leads to the issues of semantic interoperability of Qo S information and semantic similarity match between a semantic description of the service being requested by the service consumer,and a formal description of the service being offered by the service *** this paper,we propose a hierarchical two-layer semantic Qo S ontology to promote the description and declaration of Qo S-based service information in detail for any domain and ***,we develop a semantic matchmaking algorithm to compare the web services according to their Qo S information and adopt analytical hierarchy process( AHP) to make decision for the ranked services depending on the Qo S *** comparison study and experimental result show that our proposed system is superior to other service ranking approaches.

Joint power allocation and multi-relay selection scheme based on system outage probability

An amplify-and-forward （AF） based multi-relay network is studied. In order to minimize the system outage probability with a required transmission rate, a joint power allocation （PA） and multi-relay selection scheme is proposed under both total and individual power constraints （TIPC）. In the proposed scheme, the idea of ordering is adopted to avoid exhaustive search without losing much system performance. Besides the channel quantity, the ordering algorithm proposed in this article also takes relays＇ maximal output ability into consideration, which is usually ignored in traditional relay ordering algorithms. In addition, simple power reallocation method is provided to avoid repetitive PA operation during the process of searching all possible relay subsets. By Adopting the idea of ordering and using the proposed power reallocation method lead to remarkable decrease of the computation complexity, making the scheme easier and more feasible to implement in practical communication scenarios. Simulations show that the proposed multi-relay selection scheme provides similar performance compared to the optimal scheme with optimal PA and exhaustive search （OPAES） but with much lower complexity.

After wormhole attacks the routing mechanism of wireless sensor network (WSN) is damaged, then the hop count and distance between nodes cannot be well matched, so that the WSN becomes the anisotropic sensor network, resulting in security treats for WSN. Considering that wormhole attacks can cause the changing of node connectivity, through the theoretical analysis and derivation, the paper has proposed a method which detects wormhole attacks with the connected relation of high connectivity nodes, and optimizes routing with the help of the normal nodes outside the wormhole. Simulation results show that the algorithm can well detect wormhole attacks and has better localization accuracy In addition, the effect is more obvious in the case of the wormhole nodes with large communication radius and long distance.

A QoS-aware routing algorithm based on ant-cluster in wireless multimedia sensor networks

QoS-aware routing algorithm is important in wireless multimedia sensor networks. This paper formulates a generalized QoS-aware routing model on the basis of multiple routing metrics and priorities of packets. We first introduce a 2D plain-based routing algorithm IPACR which improves the standard ant colony algorithm by optimizing the initial distribution of artificial pheromone in order to accelerate the algorithm convergence rate. Then a clustering-based routing algorithm ICACR is presented which can be well applied in a large scale network. ICACR is a variation of IPACR because it can be suitable for clustering cases to satisfy the larger scale situations. Both the numerical algorithm performance analysis and simulation of IPACR and ICACR are given. The results show that ICACR outperforms IPACR in terms of both network lifetime and QoS-aware routing metrics in large scale wireless multimedia sensor networks. Moreover, the simulation based on the real video traces shows that by extending the multi-path to ICACR for different priorities of video frames better performance can be achieved.
