The Wyner-Ziv distributed video coding scheme is characterized for its intraframe encoder and interframe decoder which can also approach the efficiency of an interframe encoder-decoder system. In Wyner-Ziv residual coding of video, the residual of a frame with respect to a reference frame is Wyner-Ziv encoded, which can reduces the input entropy and leads to a higher coding efficiency than directly encoding the original frame. In this paper, we propose a new approach of residual coding combined with Region Of Interest (ROI) extraction. Experimental results show that, the proposed scheme achieves better rate-distortion performance compared to conventional Wyner-Ziv coding scheme.

Image Hiding Algorithm in Discrete Cosine Transform Domain Based on Grey Prediction and Grey Relational Analysis

Traditional information hiding algorithms cannot maintain a good balance of capacity,invisibility and *** this paper,a novel blind colour image information hiding algorithm based on grey prediction and grey relational analysis in the Discrete Cosine Transform(DCT) domain is ***,this algorithm compresses the secret image losslessly based on the improved grey prediction GM(1,1)(IGM) *** then chooses the blocks of rich texture in the cover image as the embedding regions using Double-dimension Grey Relational Analysis(DGRA).Finally,it adaptively embeds the compressed secret bits stream into the DCT domain mid-frequency coefficients,which are decided by those blocks' Double-Dimension Grey Correlation Degree(DGCD) and Human Visual System(HVS).This method can ensure an adequate balance between invisibility,capacity and *** results show that the proposed algorithm is robust against JPEG compression(46.724 6 dB when the compression quality factor is 90%),Gaussian noise(45.531 3 dB when the parameter is(0,0.000 5)) etc.,and it is a blind information hiding algorithm that can be extracted without an original carrier.

Recently, privacy concerns become an increasingly critical issue. Secure multi-party computation plays an important role in privacy-preserving. Secure multi-party computational geometry is a new field of secure multi-party computation. In this paper, we devote to investigating the solutions to some secure geometric problems in a cooperative environment. The problem is collaboratively computing the Euclid-distance between two private vectors without disclosing the private input to each other. A general privacy-preserving Euclid-distance protocol is firstly presented as a building block and is proved to be secure and efficient in the comparison with the previous methods. And we proposed a new protocol for the application in Wireless sensor networks (WSNs), based on the novel Euclid-distance protocol and Density-Based Clustering Protocol (DBCP), so that the nodes from two sides can compute cooperatively to divide them into clusters without disclosing their location information to the opposite side.

Online/offline signature schemes allow one to quickly compute a digital signature from a precomputed coupon. In this paper, we present an ID-based online/offline signature for wireless sensor networks (WSNs), which is based on Hohenberger' RSA signature (Crypto 09). We argue that due to significant reduction in costs of computation and storage, our scheme is particularly suitable for the WSNs environment with severely constrained resources. Our scheme can be proved secure under the factoring assumption without random oracles. © 2012 Springer-Verlag London Limited.

A secure communication mechanism is necessary in the applications of Wireless Multimedia sensor networks (WMSNs), which is more vulnerable to security attacks due to the presence of multimedia data. Additionally, given the limited technological resources (in term of energy, computation, bandwidth, and storage) of sensor nodes, security and privacy policies have to be combined with energy-aware algorithms and distributed processing of multimedia contents in WMSNs. To solve these problems in this paper, an energy efficient distributed steganography scheme, which combines steganography technique with the concept of distributed computing, is proposed for secure communication in WMSNs. The simulation results show that the proposed method can achieve considerable energy efficiency while assuring the communication security simultaneously.

P-homomorphic signature is a general framework for computing on authenticated data, which is recently proposed by Ahn et al. With P-homomorphic signature, any third party can derive a signature on the object message m′ from a signature of m, if m′ and m satisfy P(m,m′) = 1 for some predicate P which denotes the authenticatable relationship between m′ and m. Ahn et al. proposed a RSA P-homomorphic signature scheme by using a RSA accumulator, which is very efficient in space. However, the computational cost of verification and derivation is very heavy. We present an improved P-homomorphic signature scheme based on factoring problem. In our construction, the time efficiency of both verification and derivation are much better than Ahn's scheme. © 2013 ICST Institute for Computer Science, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Wireless communication system plays a more and more important role in many fields. Wireless network using traditional AODV algorithm only considers the minimal hop of all routes and can not meet specific QoS requirements. Some network resources will be wasted to some extend using traditional algorithm. A cognitive routing algorithm, R-AODV, which is based on the AODV algorithm, is proposed in this paper. The new proposed algorithm collects network status and chooses different routing strategy to make the best use of network resources. It may collect network status before having routing algorithm and according to different conditions of current network to choose different routing algorithm, which may make the best use of network resources. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.

The routing optimized problem in HAPs-Satellite integrated network is focused on this paper. A novel routing algorithm(AR-HS) based on the swarm intelligence by changing the pheromone updating strategy is proposed. In order to build an optimal solution, the proposed algorithm make use of ant agents that consist of probe packets sent on the HAPs-Satellite integrated network that allow to find the optimization problem solution. In this work we have performed a comparison of a classical shortest path algorithm with our the proposed algorithm ,and the simulation results show that our routing algorithm can reduce end to end delay and drop ratio, and improve performance of network. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.

Wireless senor networks have more and more applications while fundamental constraint still exists, such as limited power supply and bandwidth. When the sensing signal exhibits spare, we can sampling only a part of signal corresponding to nonzero coefficients. Inspired by recent results in theory of compressive sensing (CS), we propose a data fusion method based on CS. First, we describe the distributed data fusion in UWSNs based on CS. Then, we present a monitoring model of the cyanobacteria bloom-forming (CBF). Finally, we demonstrate the performance analysis and provide concluding remarks. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.

In order to find the service nodes, which the users are satisfied with, in a high speed and efficiency in open network environment, a new grid-oriented multi-level service selection model is proposed, which is based on the concept of user-similarity group. On this condition, direct trust calculation based on time decay is given and fine-grained recommendation trust calculation is studied, which can distinguish the ability of honesty. In addition, based on activity level of nodes, dynamic weight-allocation method is proposed, which can make the prediction results be closer to the fact. After job-interaction, the update algorithm about honesty ability of recommendation nodes is researched, which will provide more reasonable and reliable reference for the next prediction. Simulation results show that the service selection model and trust calculation methods are reasonable and accurate. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.
