Clustering analysis for geological text makes the navigation, retrieval or extraction of geological text more effectively. Clustering ensemble can be employed to obtain more robust clustering results. However, most generation approaches focus on the diversity of clustering members rather than their quality. Too much emphasis on the diversity of clustering members reduces the accuracy of clustering results. In order to solve the problem, a new generation method of clustering members is proposed in this paper. Hierarchical clustering algorithm and k-means algorithm alternately combined with random projection method are employed to generate diverse base members and a new selection strategy for the number of clusters is presented to improve the quality of clustering members. Furthermore, a clustering ensemble framework for geological text is constructed. The framework involves geological text preprocessing, geological text feature representation, clustering members generation and ensemble integration. Experimental results on two UCI datasets and one real-world geological text demonstrate that the clustering ensemble based on diversity and quality is superior to those clustering ensemble algorithms that only consider the diversity of clustering members. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020.

We present a method of leaf image reconstruction for plants whose midribs are close to straight. First, tangerine leaves are used as an example to illustrate the geometric and leaf-shape features of such leaves and suggest an extraction method using principal component analysis. Hence, this method was used to extract the geometric features, and additional methods such as coordinate conversion, mathematical morphology, and scan line analysis were applied to extract the leaf shape features. Then, based on these leaf shape features, a Bezier deformation function of the tangerine leaf edges and their curved Bezier deformation function in the normal vector direction were employed to obtain a parametric equation of the leaves according to their rectangular deformation. Finally, a simple illumination model for the leaves is presented. The reconstruction results show that the method is highly efficient and geometrically realistic. These results will be useful for the further study of plant leaf image reconstruction.

To evaluate the quality of blurred images effectively,this study proposes a no-reference blur assessment method based on gradient distortion measurement and salient region ***,a Gaussian low-pass filter is used to construct a reference image by blurring a given *** similarity is included to obtain the gradient distortion measurement map,which can finely reflect the smallest possible changes in textures and ***,a saliency model is utilized to calculate image ***,an adaptive method is used to calculate the specific salient threshold of the blurred image,and the blurred image is binarized to yield the salient region ***-wise visual saliency serves as the weight to obtain the final image *** results based on the image and video engineering database,categorial image quality database,and camera image database demonstrate that the proposed method correlates well with human *** computational complexity is also relatively low.

Intrusion-related gold deposits(IRGS)are a lowgrade,large-tonnage exploration ***,auriferous magmatic rocks were found in the Bumo deposit of the Gezhen shear zone in Hainan Province,***,the geochronology and geochemical characteristics of the intrusions,as well as the mineralization potential,are still *** and petrographic work show that the sulfidebearing intrusions can be divided into diorite porphyrites,quartz monzodiorites and *** LA–ICP–MS U–Pb dating demonstrates that diorite porphyrites,quartz monzodiorites and monzodiorites were formed at104±1,114±1,114±1 Ma,*** addition,sulfides in Yanshanian intrusion-related gold mineralization haveδ;S values of 0.2–4.4%,lower than those in Hercynian-Indosinian(1.9–9.8%)orogenic deposits(ca.219–378 Ma)in the Gezhen shear *** addition,all these intrusions display close correlations between Eu/EuN*with Th/U,consistent with the differentiation of amphibole,apatite and titanite from a hydrous ***,zircon Eu/EuN*in the intrusions are higher than0.4,demonstrating that the magmatic rocks have high water contents and oxygen fugacity values,favorable for gold ***,the Yanshanian magmatic rocks can be a new potential gold exploration target in the Gezhen shear zone.

The peak position of each peak is determined accurately in the spectra, which is a key problem in the analysis of γ-ray spectrum. In this paper, basis of comparing the Gaussian product function method and the symmetrical zero area method, the IAEA-approved G-1200 is selected as the peak-searching test spectra, the simulation experiment based on MATLAB is used for the test analysis and to extract the corresponding characteristic parameters of the spectral line. Aiming at the respective advantages of the two peak searching methods in γ-ray spectrum analysis, a method of combined peak-searching for symmetric zero area and Gaussian product function is proposed, which the statistical fluctuation of spectral data is effectively reduced, the background effect is eliminated, the peak positions information is highlighted, and the true peaks or false peaks can be identified according to the preset conditions. The result of experiment represents that symmetric zero area and Gaussian product function combined peak-searching method to peak-searching is also suitable for unsmooth data, this method has the advantages of small calculation amount, fast searching speed and obvious effect.

The Chinese word segmentation applied in the geoinformation field has played important role in the specialized search of geological information, abstract extraction of geological literature, automatic classification of geological document. Chinese word segmentation is a key step in geoinformation processing. However, the majority of traditional Chinese word segmentation methods can't achieve satisfactory results and meet the needs of practical application when they are applied into geoinformation field. This paper presents a new Chinese word segmentation algorithm for geoinformation on the basis of divide-and-conquer strategy, which aims at improving segmentation accuracy rate that brought by low adaptability of existing Chinese word segmentation. After a coarse segmentation to the Chinese text, this algorithm divides specialized terminology in geology in priority, and then adds specific tagging to the segmentation to get an implicit temporary result for subsequent processing. In order to recognize the intersectional ambiguity fields further, a Reverse Minimum Matching segmentation algorithm based on character scope is designed and a second segmentation process is conducted for the implicit temporary result. At last, ambiguity resolution is made to partial ambiguity words by Hidden Markov Model (HMM). For the HMM processing we propose a class factor matrix to record the most impossible state level. Through testing and result comparison, this segmentation algorithm owns distinct advantage in segmentation accuracy of geoinformation literature. © 2018 Indian Pulp and Paper Technical Association. Fault interpretation in geology inherently involves uncertainty, and there is a growing need to develop methods to quantify and analyze this uncertainty. In this paper, we propose a novel framework that integrates Markov chains, graph theory, information theory, and the principle of increase of entropy to comprehensively analyze uncertainty in fault interpretation and its geological implications. Our framework provides a more complete and quantitative approach compared to traditional methods. We demonstrate how entropy can be used to quantify the uncertainty in fault interpretation and kinematic analysis results, and how it can be interpreted for faulting analysis and the analysis of fault network evolution using the principle of increase of entropy. Our findings suggest that entropy can serve as a metric to compare different fault networks, and it provides a measure of the total available evolutionary paths for a fault network, enabling the quantification of uncertainty in fault kinematic analysis results. The integration of these tools provides a powerful approach for quantifying and analyzing the uncertainty in fault interpretation, which can enhance our understanding of the geological implications of uncertainty and enable geologists to analyze fault networks in a more quantitative manner. © 2023, The Authors. The Zoujiashan uranium deposit in the Xiangshan ore field is the largest volcanic-related uranium deposit in ***-and fluorite-type ores are the predominant mineralization *** in the Xiangshan ore field is closely associated with uranium mineralization,mainly occurring as hematitized rocks enclosing fluorite-type vein ores developed in pre-ore illitized porphyritic *** petrographic and mass balance calculation studies were conducted to evaluate the mechanisms for uranium precipitation and mass transfer during *** observations suggest that in the hematitized rocks,orthoclase is more altered than plagioclase,and quartz dissolution is common,whereas in the illitized rocks,pyrite commonly occurs within the altered biotite grains,and chlorite grains are locally *** balance calculations indicate that Na2O and U were gained,K2O,Ca O and Si O2were lost,whereas Fe2O3-t remained more or less constant during *** observations suggest that the hydrothermal fluids were Na-and U-rich and Ca-K-poor,and the Fe2+used for hematitization was locally derived,most likely from biotite,pyrite and chlorite in the host *** Fe2+is inferred to have played the role of reductant to precipitate uranium,and calculation indicates that oxidation of Fe2+provided by host rocks is sufficient to form ores of economic ***,the hematite-type ore is interpreted to be generated by the reaction between oxidized ore fluids and reduced components in host *** development of calcite and pyrite in the fluorite ores suggests that perhaps mixing between the U-rich fluid and another fluid carrying reduced sulfur and carbon may have also contributed to uranium mineralization,in addition to temperature and pressure drop associated with the veining.

Sedimentary process research is of great significance for understanding the distribution and characteristics of *** the detailed observation and measurement of the Sangyuan outcrop in Luanping Basin,this paper studies the depositional process of the hyperpycnal flow deposits,and divides their depositional process into three phases,namely,acceleration,erosion and *** the acceleration phase,hyperpycnal flow begins to enter the basin nearby,and then speeds up *** developed in the acceleration phase are *** addition,the original deposits become unstable and are taken away by hyperpycnal flows under the eroding *** a result,there are a lot of mixture of red mud pebbles outside the basin and gray mud pebbles within the *** the erosion phase,the reverse deposits are eroded and become thinner or even ***,no reverse grading characteristic is found in the proximal major channel that is closer to the source,but it is still preserved in the middle branch channel that is far from the *** entering the deceleration phase,normally grading deposits appear and cover previous *** final deposits in the basin are *** are reverse,and others are *** are superimposed with each other under the action of hyperpycnal *** analysis of the Sangyuan outcrop demonstrates the sedimentary process and distribution of hyperpycnites,and reasonably explain the sedimentary characteristics of *** is helpful to the prediction of oil and gas exploration targets in gravity flow deposits.

Contrast and visual saliency similarity-induced index for assessing image quality

Image quality that is consistent with human opinion is assessed by a perceptual image quality assessment (IQA) that defines/utilizes a computational model. A good model should take effectiveness and efficiency into consideration, but most of the previously proposed IQA models do not simultaneously consider these factors. Therefore, this study attempts to develop an effective and efficient IQA metric. Contrast is an inherent visual attribute that indicates image quality, and visual saliency (VS) is a quality that attracts the attention of human beings. The proposed model utilized these two features to characterize the image local quality. After obtaining the local contrast quality map and the global VS quality map, we added the weighted standard deviation of the previous two quality maps together to yield the final quality score. The experimental results for three benchmark databases (LIVE, TID2008, and CSIQ) demonstrated that our model performs the best in terms of a correlation with the human judgment of visual quality. Furthermore, compared with competing IQA models, this proposed model is more efficient. Copyright © 2017, The Authors. All rights reserved.
