In this paper, based on the Android operating system, an electronic dictionary system on mobile devices is designed. Local word searching is achieved by SQLite database storing and managing data, local word library being built on the res\raw directory in the Android project, and then the Input Stream data being written to corresponding files in other directories;By using the interface of Unabridged Dictionary, calling utf8 encoding scheme to implement the web-based word search. © 2014 Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

This paper is devoted to an English Pronunciation training system on the Android platform with functions like English transcription, word pronunciation demonstration, listening and repeating, pronunciation comparison, grading, pronunciation feedback and correction. The training system is designed and developed in line with the characteristics of Android operation system, giving full play to the advantages of Android platform by calling the relevant functions of function interface and components to improve the development efficiency of the system. The system is of high real-time and reliability with a series of multimedia techniques like the pronunciation mouth video-based animation, internal mouth structure figure, pronunciation guidance of mouth and tongue positions, and can effectively guide the learners to learn and practice English pronunciation. © 2014 Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The teaching platform system is so designed that the main function of it is activated by "hot link menus" and the hot issues of users’ concern are set on with "hot tags". An automatic 2-tiered structure comes into shape that the more frequent a user clicks on, the higher the tag ranks. The script combination techniques of Ajax and CSS are employed in the design of hot tags and menus, connection to the backstage database being there for state storage. Based on the techniques of hot tags and menus, teachers themselves can always determine what hot issues to teach and modify the order of knowledge teaching, thus the priority is always given to the teaching matters of importance in teaching management. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The bridge tower crack extension probability is very large because of the stress concentration at the crack tip, combined with the fatigue stress. Based on the long-term observations of temperature fatigue load spectrums of a bridge tower and the experiment of concrete fatigue performance parameters, the problem of crack propagation is analyzed by infinite life safety reliability model and safe and reliable crack extension randomness model. It is concluded that the concrete structure crack extension probability is close to 98.6% and reasonable repair cycle should be about 3 years. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

A tension-compression cycle fatigue test was performed in order to study the fatigue property of C50 concrete with pre-cracks in cyclic loading. The stress ratio was -1 and the amplitude was 0.2 MPa ~1.30 MPa. The results show that the modified coefficient of fatigue strength is 0.198~0.265 and the infinite life fatigue strength is below 0.45MPa. While the log value of fatigue life is approximately linear with the amplitude of fatigue load stress, the discreteness of fatigue life, the particularity of concrete, has little to do with the amplitude. The S-N, P-N fatigue life curves and the constant fatigue life diagram of pre-crack concrete are obtained. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

To solve the problem of image information transmission delay in the network multimedia teaching system, the compression and multicast solutions are put forward on the basis of usual screen blocking skill of data. According to the characteristics of the multimedia teaching system, the screen changes typically little at smaller intervals. It means that only a few screen blocks, which are changing, are needed to be transferred by screen blocking skill. At the same time, the network video data transmission volume is further curtailed through compression and multicast so that the multimedia information network transmission delay is decreased. The minimal buffer size for allocation is determined to ensure the smooth transmission of video data in the multimedia teaching system. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

A key challenge in the closed-loop recycling of spent lithium iron phosphate is the difficulty in removing aluminum during the regeneration of battery-grade iron phosphate. Our study demonstrates that the carbon-mediated reduction of iron to its ferrous state facilitates the efficient removal of aluminum under controlled pH conditions. The carbon-mediated transfer of electrons from sulfite to Fe3+ and complete reduction to Fe2+, resulting in 99.4 % removal of aluminum in the pH-regulated precipitation de-alumination process. The purified iron phosphate solution is oxidatively precipitated to produce iron phosphate with an Al content as low as 0.00175 %. In-situ Raman, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), and the open circuit potential method confirm the formation of low-potential carbon-sulfite complexes and their role in accelerating electron transfer. A life cycle analysis shows that the process reduces energy consumption by 28.72 % and greenhouse gas emissions by 29.47 % while improving profit by nearly 369 % compared to conventional hydrometallurgical processes. The high-efficiency, clean technology proposed in this study for regenerating low-aluminum battery-grade iron phosphate will significantly contribute to the sustainable development of the lithium iron phosphate battery industry. © 2025

Effects of material reactivity on the sintering properties of magnesium oxide partially stabilized zirconia metering nozzle

In this study, a magnesium oxide partially stabilized zirconia (Mg-PSZ) sample was prepared by granulation, molding, drying, and calcining. MgO was used as stabilizer, along with chemical- and electrofusion-made zirconium dioxide (ZrO2) powder, as well as a different mixture of the two as the raw material. The effects of material reactivity on the sintering properties of the Mg- PSZ metering nozzle were studied by analyzing the physical properties and microscopic structure of the sample. The results show that, under the same sample preparation conditions, the electrofusion- made ZrO2 had lower reactivity, resulting in a lower percentage of stable phase, loose adhesion among particles after sintering, more than 20% porosity, and poor antierosion and antiscouring performance. However, electrofusion-made ZrO2 only had a shrinking percentage of 6%, leading to a higher sintering yield. However, compared with the electrofusion-made ZrO2, chemical-made ZrO2 had a higher reactivity, better sintering properties, more stable phase component, and approximately 75% less porosity. Chemical-made ZrO2, however, had a shrinking percentage as high as 20%, causing serious sample cracking after sintering. Therefore, both types of ZrO2 are not ideal as the only raw material for Mg-PSZ metering nozzles. Nonetheless, when a 1:1 mixture of the two types of ZrO2 was used as the raw material, the calcined sample showed better property parameters in porosity and volume density, as well as compressive strength, satisfying the requirements for Mg-PSZ-based metering nozzles. © 2020 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

Effects of calcium oxide and magnesium oxide stabilizing agents on the critical transformation size of tetragonal zirconia

The preparation of tetragonal zirconia nanopowders by sol-gel method using zirconium oxychloride as raw material, ammonia water and sodium hydroxide solution as precipitant, and calcium oxide or magnesium oxide powders as stabilizing agents is described. After suction filtration, drying, and calcination, tetragonal zirconia nanopowders with different particle size and tetragonal phase content were obtained. The particle size and phase composition of the powders are characterized by using a laser particle size analyzer and an X-ray diffractometer, and the tetragonal phase content and grain size are calculated from the crystal plane formula and Scherrer formula. The analysis of the relationship between the tetragonal phase content and the particle size of the zirconia nanopowders stabilized by calcium oxide and magnesium oxide at room temperature reveals the inhibitory effect of the stabilizing agents on the growth of zirconia grains. The stabilized zirconia nanopowder is finer than unstabilized zirconia nanopowder, and the particle distribution is more uniform in the former. The stabilizing effect of calcium oxide is superior to that of magnesium oxide;the critical transformation size of the zirconia grains stabilized by calcium oxide is the largest, and that of unstabilized zirconia is the smallest. The critical transformation size of calcium oxide- stabilized, magnesium oxide-stabilized, and unstabilized zirconia nanopowders is 18-22.6 nm, 24-28 nm, and 26-33.6 nm, respectively. Under the same calcination condition, the calcium oxide- stabilized zirconia nanopowder retains the highest tetragonal phase content at room temperature. © 2020 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.
