Dynamic load altering attack detection based on adaptive fading Kalman filter in smart grid

This paper mainly studies a detection method of dynamic load altering attacks (D-LAAs) in smart grids. First, communication factors are considered, and a smart grid discrete system model under D-LAA attack is established. Second, for closed-loop D-LAAs, an adaptive fading Kalman filter (AFKF) is designed to estimate the states of smart grids with Gaussian noise in real time, and a Euclidean distance ratio detection algorithm based on AFKF is proposed to detect D-LAAs. Moreover, the proposed detection algorithm can identify D-LAAs even in the presence of noise in the measurement data, significantly enhancing the speed of attack detection. Finally, take a smart grid with three generators and six buses as an example. Its feasibility and effectiveness of the Euclidean distance ratio detection algorithm are verified by simulations. The simulations are carried out through the real-time hardware-in-the-loop simulation platform, which is mainly composed of StarSim and multi-tasking devices. © 2024 The Authors. This paper investigates the problem of false data injection attacks(FDIA) occurring at the multi-area load frequency control(LFC) system actuator. A resilient control strategy based on adaptive RBF observer is proposed. Firstly, an adaptive RBF observer is designed in combination with Luenberger observer and RBF neural network to achieve observation of states and estimation of FDIAs. Then, an H∞ state-feedback elasticity controller is implemented based on the feedback signal from the adaptive RBF observer. Finally, to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, simulation experiments are carried out based on the two-region load frequency control system. © 2024 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Due to the deep coupling between the power and cyber networks and the un-certainty of new energy, the security issues of modern power grids, as a typi-cal cyber-physical system, are becoming increasingly prominent. The node importance evaluation of power grids plays a crucial role in ensuring its reliability and security. This paper proposes a comprehensive node importance evaluation scheme by CRITIC and VIKOR methods. Monte Carlo simulation is used to handle the uncertainty of wind power generation, and a node im-portance index (GLT) is proposed considering the generation, load, and transmission capacity of the nodes in the power grid. A decision matrix containing the GLT and the other five evaluation indexes is constructed from two aspects of electrical and topology characteristics, and the CRITIC and VIKOR methods are used to integrate the indexes of the decision matrix into a comprehensive importance evaluation index. In the simulation tests, the metrics of power supply and survival node rate are adopted to verify the ef-fectiveness and superiority of the proposed method, which can effectively identify the critical nodes in the power grid. ©2023 IEEE.

The fault detection problem of a class of linear discrete switched systems with time delay is studied,where the subsystems of the systems are all *** main idea of this article is to design a fault detection filter to turn the detection problem into a H filter *** this paper,we use a special dwell time and Lyapunov function,introduce the weighted fault matrix,and the sufficient conditions for the stability of the augmented systems are obtained by using the linear matrix inequality ***,an example is used to verify the effectiveness of the fault detection filter designed in this paper.

Aiming at the present information security problems and the one-sidedness of vulnerability assessment indicators of cyber-physical power systems,an assessment model is proposed based on the improved fuzzy analytic hierarchy process to identify the critical nodes of the ***,an integrated model of the cyber-physical power system is established,and the cascading failure process after component failure of the power system is taken into ***,several assessment indicators considering two aspects of power flow character and structural safety are given.A three-scale method and the optimal transfer matrix are employed to improve the traditional analytic hierarchy process,and the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation is used to determine the final ***,the validity of the proposed method is verified on the model based on the IEEE 30-bus system.

Optimizing the microdynamics in alkaline and neutral conditions is a significant but challenging task in developing pH-universal hydrogen evolution(HER)***,a unique Pt-O-Ni bridge has been constructed to alter the coordination and electronic environment between Pt nanoparticles(Pt_n)and nickel metaphosphate(NPO)substrate(Pt-NPO).Sufficient electron transfer from NPO to Pt_n to maintain an electron-rich environment and a low valence state of Pt_***,H*is produced from the H_(2)O dissociation on Ni site and then spillover toward Pt sites to bind into H_(2),which makes up for the insufficient H_(2)O dissociation ability of Pt in Volmer ***-NPO exhibits long-term stability and only need the overpotentials of 22.3,33.0 and 30.5 mV to attain 10 mA cm^(-2)in alkaline,neutral and acidic media,*** anion-exchange membrane(AEM)water electrolyzer catalyzed by Pt-NPO shows high water electrolysis performance that a cell voltage of 1.73 V is needed to obtain the current density of500 mA cm^(-2)in 1 M KOH at 80℃,at the same time maintains good stability for 350 *** regulation strategy proposed in this work is helpful for the design and synthesis of highly efficient pH-universal HER electrocatalysts.

Modulation of the surface electron distribution is a challenging problem that determines the adsorption ability of catalytic ***,we address this challenge by bridging the inner and outer layers of the core–shell structure through the bridge Br *** shell wrapped copper bromide nanorods(CuBr@C)are constructed for the first time by chemical vapour deposition with hexabromobenzene(HBB).HBB pyrolysis provides both bridge Br atom and C *** C shell protects the stability of the internal halide structure,while the bridge Br atom triggers the rearrangement of the surface electrons and exhibits excellent electrocatalytic ***,the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)activity of CuBr@C is significantly better than that of commercial N-doped carbon nanotubes,surpassing commercial Pt/C at over 200 mA·cm^(−2).Density functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal that bridge Br atoms inspire aggregation of delocalized electrons on C-shell surfaces,leading to optimization of hydrogen adsorption energy.

Exponential stability, L1-gain performance and fault detection are investigated in this paper for continuous positive switched system (PSS) when there exists no stable subsystems. To eliminate the instability brought by the unstable modes ensure the exponential stbility, a time-driven switching strategy is proposed by means of the average dwell time approach. Then, the L1-gain performance for the PSS is guaranteed. Additionally, the stable filter design is converted into the L1-gain analysis. Sufficient conditions are deduced to guarantee the L1-gain performance with exponential stability in terms of linear matrices inequalities (LMIs). Finally, an example is provided to test and verify the effectiveness and practicality. © 2023 IEEE.

Sequential recovery of cyber-physical power systems considering cyber-attacks

This paper delves into the sequential recovery of cyber-physical power systems (CPPS) under several typical cyber-attacks. A sequential recovery model considering cyber-attacks is built based on the cascading failure framework to integrate the system operation mechanism and the fault propagation mode under cyber-attacks. To restore the load power, a deep Q-network (DQN) is used to determine the optimal recovery sequence of failed components in the large-scale CPPS. Taking the CPPS based on the IEEE 30-bus system as an example, the recovery process under several typical cyber-attacks is analyzed and the optimal recovery sequence of several randomly generated residual systems is determined. The superiority of the recovery strategy based on the DQN algorithm in load recovery is verified by comparison. © 2025 Elsevier Inc.
