Feature Fusion Based Hand Gesture Recognition Method for Automotive Interfaces

Hand gesture recognition on the depth videos is a promising approach for automotive interfaces because it is less sensitive to light variation and more accurate than other traditional ***,video gestures recognition is still a challenging task since lots of interferences are induced by the uncorrelated gesture *** that if the displays are more relevant,the results will more accurate,so ResNext,a kind of compact and efficient neural network,is firstly used as feature extractor,then an improved weighted frame unification method is adopted to obtain the key frame samples,finally the Discriminant correlation analysis(DCA) is employed to fuse features for static data and dynamic data after conducting Feature embedding branch(FEB) on static *** public dataset named Depth based gesture recognition database(DGRD) is used in this paper,but the dataset is a little small and the class distribution is largely imbalance,and we find the performance of ResNext degrades badly in the condition of imbalance problem although it achieves excellent result at sufficient training *** order to conquer the disadvantages of limited dataset,a special loss function scheme combining the soft max loss and dice loss is *** of the algorithm performances in comparison with other state-of-the-art methods indicates that the proposed method is more practical for gesture recognition and may be widely adopted by automotive interfaces.

Todo: Task Offloading Decision Optimizer for the Efficient Provision of Offloading Schemes

As the volume of data stored on local devices increases, users turn to edge devices to help with processing tasks. Developing offloading schemes is challenging due to the varying configurations of edge devices and user preferences. While traditional methods provide schemes for offloading in various scenarios, they face unavoidable challenges, including the requirement to manage device workloads in real-time, significant computational costs, and the difficulty of balancing multi-objectives in offloading schemes. To solve these problems, we propose the Task Offloading Decision Optimizer, which offers efficient multi-objective offloading schemes considering real-time device workload and user preference. The proposed offloading scheme contains three goals: reducing task execution time, decreasing device energy consumption, and lowering rental costs. It comprises two important parts: Scheme Maker and Scheme Assistor. Scheme Maker utilizes deep reinforcement learning, optimizes the internal architecture, and enhances the performance of the operation. It optimizes buffer storage to generate dependable multi-objective offloading schemes considering real-time environmental conditions. Scheme Assistor utilizes the data in the Scheme Maker buffer to enhance efficiency by reducing computational costs. Extensive experiments have proved that the proposed framework efficiently provides offloading schemes considering the real-time conditions of the devices and the users, and it offers offloading schemes that enhance task completion rate by 50%. Compared to the baseline, the task execution time is reduced by 12.1%, and the device energy consumption is reduced by 11.4%. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Symmetric Transformer-based Network for Unsupervised Image Registration

Medical image registration is a fundamental and critical task in medical image analysis. With the rapid development of deep learning, convolutional neural networks (CNN) have dominated the medical image registration field. Due to the disadvantage of the local receptive field of CNN, some recent registration methods have focused on using transformers for non-local registration. However, the standard Transformer has a vast number of parameters and high computational complexity, which causes Transformer can only be applied at the bottom of the registration models. As a result, only coarse information is available at the lowest resolution, limiting the contribution of Transformer in their models. To address these challenges, we propose a convolution-based efficient multi-head self-attention (CEMSA) block, which reduces the parameters of the traditional Transformer and captures local spatial context information for reducing semantic ambiguity in the attention mechanism. Based on the proposed CEMSA, we present a novel Symmetric Transformer-based model (SymTrans). SymTrans employs the Transformer blocks in the encoder and the decoder respectively to model the long-range spatial cross-image relevance. We apply SymTrans to the displacement field and diffeomorphic registration. Experimental results show that our proposed method achieves state-of-the-art performance in image registration. Noisetrans: Point Cloud Denoising with Transformers

Introduction: Point clouds obtained from capture devices or 3D reconstruction techniques are often noisy and interfere with downstream ***: The paper aims to recover the underlying surface of noisy point ***: We design a novel model, NoiseTrans, which uses transformer encoder architecture for point cloud denoising. Specifically, we obtain structural similarity of point-based point clouds with the assistance of the transformer's core self-attention mechanism. By expressing the noisy point cloud as a set of unordered vectors, we convert point clouds into point embeddings and employ Transformer to generate clean point clouds. To make the Transformer preserve details when sensing the point cloud, we design the Local Point Attention to prevent the point cloud from being over-smooth. In addition, we also propose sparse encoding, which enables the Transformer to better perceive the structural relationships of the point cloud and improve the denoising ***: Experiments show that our model outperforms state-of-the-art methods in various datasets and noise environments. © 2022, The Authors. Reachability analysis is one of the most basic and challenging problems in verification. We investigate this problem in multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) system by transforming the reachability analysis to decision-making problem tackled by mixed integer linear programming (MILP) solver Gurobi. We define syntax and semantics for multi-role strategy logic (mrSL) which is used to describe the reachability specification. The logic mrSL is a variant of SL to express properties, which provide a holistic perspective to describe reachability properties instead of specifying a specific agent reaches a certain state in the MARL system. And the algorithms to translate reachability property into MILP constraints are provided. A tool called MAReachAnalysis is introduced, which uses Gurobi to solve the corresponding reachability problem and evaluate it on the predator-prey task of multi-agent deep deterministic policy gradient (MADDPG) example, discussion of the experimental results obtained on a range of test cases. © 2013 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose collaborative beamforming (CB) in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-assisted communication networks to improve transmission data rate with minimum energy consumption. Specifically, CB allows a group of UAVs forming a virtual element antenna array (VEAA) and transmitting data collaboratively in a synchronous manner through a high-gain mainlobe (ML) beam. The goal is to optimize the deployment locations of UAVs in the VEAA and excitation current weights for performing CB transmissions considering the energy cost for UAV deployment. Accordingly, we formulate an Energy-Efficient Communication Multi-objective Optimization Problem (EECMOP) to jointly maximize the transmission rate and minimize the maximum sidelobe level (SLL) as well as UAV energy consumption. Then, we propose an Enhanced Multi Objective Ant Lion Optimizer (EMOALO) algorithm which incorporates a chaos theory to develop chaotic initialization and adjustable mode operators for solving the problem. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the EMOALO algorithm in improving energy efficiency for UAV-assisted communication networks.

Few-shot learning (FSL) aims to learn to new concepts based on very limited data. One of the main challenges in FSL is the use of pretrained embeddings whose dimension is too high for the small sample size. While the large dimensionality helps capture diverse features in the training example, not all the features are relevant to the task at hand. Such task-irrelevant features from pre-trained embeddings can negatively impact the performance of the FSL model. To address this challenge, we propose a simple yet effective way to learn task-level manifolds that explicitly eliminate the negative effect of nuisance features. One key novelty of our approach is to address class imbalance in the training data by injecting supervised information through key virtual samples, which we named Manifold Support Points. Empirically, we demonstrate that the stability of the learnt task-level manifolds and their effectiveness in challenging tasks in FSL. Our approach shows competitive performance on several benchmark datasets, including tieredImageNet and CUB.

Discrepancy-Guided Reconstruction Learning for Image Forgery Detection

In this paper, we propose a novel image forgery detection paradigm for boosting the model learning capacity on both forgery-sensitive and genuine compact visual patterns. Compared to the existing methods that only focus on the discrepant-specific patterns (e.g., noises, textures, and frequencies), our method has a greater generalization. Specifically, we first propose a Discrepancy-Guided Encoder (DisGE) to extract forgery-sensitive visual patterns. DisGE consists of two branches, where the mainstream backbone branch is used to extract general semantic features, and the accessorial discrepant external attention branch is used to extract explicit forgery cues. Besides, a Double-Head Reconstruction (DouHR) module is proposed to enhance genuine compact visual patterns in different granular spaces. Under DouHR, we further introduce a Discrepancy-Aggregation Detector (DisAD) to aggregate these genuine compact visual patterns, such that the forgery detection capability on unknown patterns can be improved. Extensive experimental results on four challenging datasets validate the effectiveness of our proposed method against state-of-the-art competitors. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. Tc-Sepm: Characterizing Soft Error Resilience of Cnns on Tensor Cores from Program and Microarchitecture Perspectives

As an architectural CNN accelerator integrated into NVIDIA's GPUs, existing research mainly focus on improving the performance of Tensor Core. However, the highly integrated Tensor Cores are vulnerable to transient faults (i.e., soft errors), causing catastrophic consequences in safety-critical applications like automatic driving. Thus, it is imperative to estimate the reliability of CNNs on Tensor Cores. However, it is expensive to obtain a statistically significant resilience profile of CNNs on Tensor Cores with the existing fault injection(FI)-based reliability estimation methods. To this end, we build TC-SEPM to predict the error resilience of CNNs on Tensor Cores instead of FI methods. To ensure the accuracy of TC-SEPM, we first investigate resilience-related features from microarchitecture and program perspectives. Then, leveraging these heuristic features, we train machine learning models to learn the hidden relationship between error resilience and the investigated features, enabling us to predict the impact of soft errors in Tensor Cores on CNN output. Experimental results show that TC-SEPM achieves high accuracy for individual soft error resiliency prediction and overall program resilience estimation while its overhead is only 1/27 of FI methods. Additionally, TC-SEPM can provide valuable insights for programmers or architects to design more robust CNN models on Tensor Cores. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The rapid accumulation of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) has transformed healthcare by providing valuable data that enhance clinical predictions and diagnoses. While conventional machine learning models have proven effective, they often lack robust representation learning and depend heavily on expert-crafted features. Although deep learning offers powerful solutions, it is often criticized for its lack of interpretability. To address these challenges, we propose DeepSelective, a novel end to end deep learning framework for predicting patient prognosis using EHR data, with a strong emphasis on enhancing model interpretability. DeepSelective combines data compression techniques with an innovative feature selection approach, integrating custom-designed modules that work together to improve both accuracy and interpretability. Our experiments demonstrate that DeepSelective not only enhances predictive accuracy but also significantly improves interpretability, making it a valuable tool for clinical decision-making.
