Heart disease (HD) stands as a major global health challenge, being a predominant cause of death and demanding intricate and costly detection methods. The widespread impact of heart failure, contributing to increased rates of morbidity and mortality, underscores the urgency for accurate and timely prediction and diagnosis. This is crucial for effective prevention, early detection, and treatment, thereby reducing the threat to individual health. However, the early and precise prediction of HD remains a significant challenge. The complexity of medical data poses a considerable challenge for healthcare professionals, who are required to interpret and utilize this information swiftly for effective intervention. Addressing this gap, our study introduces a novel Improved Explainable Learning-Based Technique (IELBT) for HD prediction. This technique harnesses a strategic combination of feature selection, Venn diagrams, data normalization methods, optimized parameters, and machine learning algorithms, specifically tailored for predicting HD. We evaluated the performance of our model using the Alizadeh Sani HD dataset, aiming to accurately detect the presence or absence of the condition. Our results demonstrate that the IELBT, employing a support vector machine with a robust scaling approach, optimal parameterization, and a data split ratio of 70:30, achieves an impressive accuracy rate of 96.00%. Beyond achieving high accuracy, the IELBT outperforms similar models in existing literature and provides significant interpretability and explanation, essential elements in the field of medical diagnosis. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

HPPH: computer-Vision-Based Service for High-Performance Pavement Health Recognition

Identifying pavement damage is a crucial component in road maintenance and infrastructure management. Prompt detection and corrective action of pavement defects can prevent severe deterioration, maintain safety, and prolong the useful life of road infrastructure. computer vision is widely applied to vehicle applications, such as driver assistance and self-driving, and that is a good platform to equip the pavement damage recognition service. Therefore, this work applies computer vision to develop the pavement damage detection service named high-performance pavement health recognition (HPPH) to detect common pavement damages, including longitudinal cracks, transverse cracks, alligator cracks, and potholes. The proposed HPPH can be deployed on a vehicle for regular road detection. To fit the requirements of vehicle applications, HPPH considers state-of-the-art techniques to optimize the performance of the recognition service on vehicles, e.g., DeepStream is applied to increase the inference performance. At the same time, YOLOv8s (you only look once, YOLO) provides real-time inference. The experimental results reveal that HPPH provides an accuracy of 90.3% and an average precision 0.5 of 74.3%. Moreover, the optimized HPPH provides three times better than the pure YOLOv8s in terms of the inference speed. In summary, the proposed HPPH provides high recognition accuracy with high efficiency and is feasible to be applied to vehicle applications to realize distributed road maintenance. © 2014 IEEE.

Image copy-move forgery detection (CMFD) has become a challenging problem due to increasingly powerful editing software that makes forged images increasingly realistic. Existing algorithms that directly connect multiple scales of features in the encoder part may not effectively aggregate contextual information, resulting in poor performance. In this paper, an end-to-end context multiscale cross-fusion network (CMCF-Net) is proposed to detect image copy-move forgery. The proposed network consists of a multiscale feature extraction fusion (MSF) module and a multi-information fusion decoding (MFD) module. Multiscale information is efficiently extracted and fused in the MSF module utilizing stacked-scale feature fusion, which improves the network's forgery localization ability on objects of different scales. The MFD module employs contextual information combination and weighted fusion of multiscale information to guide the network in obtaining relevant clues from correlated information at multiple different scales. Experimental results and analysis have demonstrated that the proposed CMCF-Net achieves the best localization results with higher robustness. © 1999-2012 IEEE.

The proposedASDC-OSAML model majorly focuses on the identification and classificationof ASD. To attain this, the presentedASDC-OSAML model follows minmaxnormalization approach as a pre-processing stage. Next, the owl searchalgorithm (OSA)-based feature selection (OSA-FS) model is used to derivefeature subsets. Then, beetle swarm antenna search (BSAS) algorithm withIterative Dichotomiser 3 (ID3) classification method was implied for ASDdetection and classification. The design of BSAS algorithm helps to determinethe parameter values of the ID3 classifier. The performance analysis of theASDC-OSAML model is performed using benchmark dataset. An extensivecomparison study highlighted the supremacy of the ASDC-OSAML modelover recent state of art approaches.

With the unprecedented prevalence of Industrial Internet of Things(IIoT)and 5G technology,various applications supported by industrial communication systems have generated exponentially increased processing tasks,which makes task assignment inefficient due to insufficient *** this paper,an Intelligent and Trustworthy task assignment method based on Trust and Social relations(ITTS)is proposed for scenarios with many tasks and few ***,ITTS first makes initial assignments based on trust and social influences,thereby transforming the complex large-scale industrial task assignment of the platform into the small-scale task assignment for each ***,an intelligent Q-decision mechanism based on workers'social relation is proposed,which adopts the first-exploration-then-utilization principle to allocate *** when a worker cannot cope with the assigned tasks,it initiates dynamic worker recruitment,thus effectively solving the worker shortage problem as well as the cold start *** importantly,we consider trust and security issues,and evaluate the trust and social circles of workers by accumulating task feedback,to provide the platform a reference for worker recruitment,thereby creating a high-quality worker ***,extensive simulations demonstrate ITTS outperforms two benchmark methods by increasing task completion rates by 56.49%-61.53%and profit by 42.34%-47.19%.

The Wireless Sensor Network(WSN)is a network that is constructed in regions that are inaccessible to human *** widespread deployment of wireless micro sensors will make it possible to conduct accurate environmental monitoring for a use in both civil and military *** make use of these data to monitor and keep track of the physical data of the surrounding environment in order to ensure the sustainability of the *** data have to be picked up by the sensor,and then sent to the sink node where they may be *** nodes of the WSNs are powered by batteries,therefore they eventually run out of *** energy restriction has an effect on the network life span and environmental *** objective of this study is to further improve the Engroove Leach(EL)protocol’s energy efficiency so that the network can operate for a very long time while consuming the least amount of *** lifespan of WSNs is being extended often using clustering and routing *** Meta Inspired Hawks Fragment Optimization(MIHFO)system,which is based on passive clustering,is used in this study to do *** cluster head is chosen based on the nodes’residual energy,distance to neighbors,distance to base station,node degree,and node *** on distance,residual energy,and node degree,an algorithm known as Heuristic Wing Antfly Optimization(HWAFO)selects the optimum path between the cluster head and Base Station(BS).They examine the number of nodes that are active,their energy consumption,and the number of data packets that the BS *** overall experimentation is carried out under the MATLAB *** the analysis,it has been discovered that the suggested approach yields noticeably superior outcomes in terms of throughput,packet delivery and drop ratio,and average energy consumption.

Despite the importance of adopting SPM tools for supporting agile practices and the significance of usability as an essential component of human factors engineering, their usability evaluation was neglected in the literature. This study aims to identify the common usability issues in SPM tools and propose suggestions for enhancing their usability. Two of the most widely used SPM tools were selected as a case study for this study, namely Jira and Pivotal Tracker. Three independent evaluators participated in the usability evaluation, using two human factors techniques: Heuristic Evaluation and Cognitive Walkthrough. The results revealed a total frequency of 123 issues in both tools. Both tools had a nearly equal frequency of issues in each evaluation method but different severity levels. Learnability issues were the issues that were raised the most in the evaluation for both tools. Most of the issues had minor to major severity, with the following percentages of total issues: 41.33% and 46.67%, respectively, while only 13.33% were catastrophic. Considering the proposed solutions by designers and developers for this type of tool can help enhance the design of SPM tools, leading to increased user satisfaction and tool adoption. © 2024 ACM.

The growing prevalence of fake images on the Internet and social media makes image integrity verification a crucial research *** of the most popular methods for manipulating digital images is image splicing,which involves copying a specific area from one image and pasting it into *** were made to mitigate the effects of image splicing,which continues to be a significant research *** study proposes a new splicing detectionmodel,combining Sonine functions-derived convex-based features and deep *** stages make up the proposed *** first step entails feature extraction,then classification using the“support vector machine”(SVM)to differentiate authentic and spliced *** proposed Sonine functions-based feature extraction model reveals the spliced texture details by extracting some clues about the probability of image *** proposed model achieved an accuracy of 98.93% when tested with the CASIA V2.0 dataset“Chinese Academy of sciences,Institute of Automation”which is a publicly available dataset for forgery *** experimental results show that,for image splicing forgery detection,the proposed Sonine functions-derived convex-based features and deep features outperform state-of-the-art techniques in terms of accuracy,precision,and ***,the obtained detection accuracy attests to the benefit of using the Sonine functions alongside deep feature *** the regions or locations where image tampering has taken place is limited by the *** research will need to look into advanced image analysis techniques that can offer a higher degree of accuracy in identifying and localizing tampering regions.

In the charity sector, fundraising and transparency have long been key issues. Charity NFT (Non-Fungible Token) auctions, an emerging charity fundraising model integrating blockchain and NFT concepts, bring opportunities and challenges. Blockchain provides distributed data integrity and transparency via cryptography-linked data blocks, while NFTs enable unique digital ownership representation. This study designs a charity NFT auction platform on the Fisco Bcos blockchain, using multi-signature algorithms to ensure NFT authenticity, ECDSA (Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm) signatures for transaction integrity and traceability, NFTs and virtual currencies to reduce costs, and IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) for storage. The implemented system achieves 2104 TPS throughput with 492-millisecond latency, increasing transaction processing with low latency. Overall, the platform aims to address charity issues like opaque fund flows, high costs, and fake initiatives through the strategic application of blockchain and NFT functionality. © 2013 IEEE.
