Utility mining has recently attracted much attention in real-world applications because it fits actual situations. Fuzzy utility mining approaches can discover important high-utility patterns in linguistic terms. Data, however, usually come intermittently, and users may want to know currently updated mining results instead of only the ones at the previous stage. Thus, maintaining correct knowledge is very important to this requirement. In the past, we used the fast-updated (FUP) approach and tree structures to manage the maintenance problem of fuzzy utility mining for incremental databases. In this work, we adopt the pre-large-itemset concept to speed up the tree-based maintenance of high fuzzy utility itemsets. The proposed method uses the header table and the pre-large threshold to reduce database scans for efficiency improvement. From the experimental results, the proposed approach performs better than the FUP-tree-based and batching method. © 2023 ACM.

Despite recent successes in natural language processing and computer vision, Transformer faces scalability issues when processing graphs, e.g., computing the full node-to-node attention on knowledge graphs (KGs) with million of entities is still infeasible. The existing methods mitigate this problem by considering only the local neighbors, sacrificing the Transformer's ability to attend to elements at any distance. This paper proposes a new Transformer architecture called Dual-Encoding Transformer (DET). DET comprises a structural encoder to aggregate information from nearby neighbors, and a semantic encoder to seek for semantically relevant nodes. We adopt a semantic neighbor search approach inspired by multiple sequence alignment (MSA) algorithms used in biological sciences. By stacking the two encoders alternately, similar to the MSA Transformer for protein representation, our method achieves superior performance compared to state-of-the-art attention-based methods on complex relational graphs like KGs and citation networks. Due to the limited computing resources of both mobile devices (MDs) and the mobile edge computing (MEC) server, devising reasonable strategies for MD task offloading, MEC server resource pricing, and resource allocation is crucial. In this paper, a scenario is considered, comprising multiple MDs and a single MEC server. Each MD has a divisible task in each time slot, allowing for partial offloading and the option to discard parts of the task. The MEC server contains multiple computing units with the same computing power, and its computing resources can be dynamically adjusted through dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS) according to the size of tasks offloaded by MDs. At any given time slice, a Stackelberg game is formulated based on the strategies of the MDs and the strategy of the MEC server. An iterative evolution algorithm is employed to explore the optimal strategies for MDs and the MEC server. Simulation results demonstrate that both parties can reach an equilibrium state through the game, and these experiments confirm that the algorithm effectively enhances system efficiency. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

The heart disease cases are rising day by day and it is very Important to predict such diseases before it causes more harm to human lives. The diagnosis of heart disease is such a complex task i.e., it should be performed very carefully. The work done in this research paper mainly focuses on which patients has more chance to suffer from this based on their various medical feature such as chest pain etc. We proposed a system of heart disease prediction that is used to diagnose whether the patient is a victim or not by using the previous medical features of the patient. Support vector machine and k-nearest neighbor algorithms of machine learning are used to predict and classify the patient with heart disease. The models gave satisfactory results and were capable for predicting a heart disease by using k-nearest neighbor and support vector machine which gave a good accuracy in contrast to the algorithms that were used in the previous research such as naive bayes etc. © 2023 IEEE.

Phishing attacks present a persistent and evolving threat in the cybersecurity land-scape,necessitating the development of more sophisticated detection *** machine learning approaches to phishing detection have relied heavily on feature engineering and have often fallen short in adapting to the dynamically changing patterns of phishingUniformResource Locator(URLs).Addressing these challenge,we introduce a framework that integrates the sequential data processing strengths of a Recurrent Neural Network(RNN)with the hyperparameter optimization prowess of theWhale Optimization Algorithm(WOA).Ourmodel capitalizes on an extensive Kaggle dataset,featuring over 11,000 URLs,each delineated by 30 *** WOA’s hyperparameter optimization enhances the RNN’s performance,evidenced by a meticulous validation *** results,encapsulated in precision,recall,and F1-score metrics,surpass baseline models,achieving an overall accuracy of 92%.This study not only demonstrates the RNN’s proficiency in learning complex patterns but also underscores the WOA’s effectiveness in refining machine learning models for the critical task of phishing detection.

The recent rise of Neural Radiance Fields (NeRFs)-like methods has revolutionized high-fidelity scene reconstruction, with 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) standing out for its ability to generate photorealistic images while maintaining fast, efficient rendering. 3DGS delivers high-fidelity representations of complex scenes at any scale (from very small objects to entire cities), accurately capturing geometry, materials, and lighting, while meeting the need for fast and efficient rendering-crucial for applications requiring real-time performance. Although High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology, which enables the capture of comprehensive real-world lighting information, has been used in novel view synthesis, several questions remain unanswered. For example, does HDR improve the overall quality of reconstruction? Are 8 bits enough? Can tone mapped images be a balanced compromise regarding quality and details? To answer such questions, in this work, we study the application of HDR technology on the 3DGS method for acquiring real-world scenes. © 2024 The Authors.

Financial management is a critical and complicated issue. People tend to invest in the stock market and expect a stable uptrend portfolio to spread the investment risk effectively. As global economies affect each other, investing in global markets is the best way to address systematic risk for effective financial management. Selecting an appropriate portfolio across global markets involves a substantial solution space;thus, an efficient and effective evolutionary computation is proposed. The novel entanglement-enhanced quantum-inspired optimization technique is proposed as an efficient mechanism to search for the relationship between stocks with high-dependency solutions. The novel indicator trend ratio aims to evaluate the investor-desired portfolio with a stable uptrend under a perfect balance between return and risk. Therefore, this study is the first attempt to evaluate the major global markets in the Group of Seven (G7) countries to expand the generality of trend ratio usage. The experiments demonstrate that the proposed novel approach has better and more precise searchability than other state-of-the-art optimization. The proposed intelligent model outperforms the Sharpe ratio, benchmark strategy, and index performance regarding the trend ratio, risk, maximum drawdown, and profit factor. The results reveal that risk dispersion substantially improves investment performance. Under the evaluation of the trend ratio, the proposed system integrates G7 markets as an expansion of a prospective avenue for global asset management © 2023 IEEE.

Physics-based fluid simulation has played an increasingly important role in the computer graphics *** methods in this area have greatly improved the generation of complex visual effects and its computational *** techniques have emerged to deal with complex boundaries,multiphase fluids,gas-liquid interfaces,and fine *** parallel use of machine learning,image processing,and fluid control technologies has brought many interesting and novel research *** this survey,we provide an introduction to theoretical concepts underpinning physics-based fuid simulation and their practical implementation,with the aim for it to serve as a guide for both newcomers and seasoned researchers to explore the field of physics-based fuid simulation,with a focus on developments in the last *** by the distribution of recent publications in the field,we structure our survey to cover physical background;discretization approaches;computational methods that address scalability;fuid interactions with other materials and interfaces;and methods for expressive aspects of surface detail and *** a practical perspective,we give an overview of existing implementations available for the above methods.

Given many copies of an unknown quantum state ρ, we consider the task of learning a classical description of its principal eigenstate. Namely, assuming that ρ has an eigenstate | with (unknown) eigenvalue λ > 1/2, the goal is to learn a (classical shadows style) classical description of | which can later be used to estimate expectation values |O| for any O in some class of observables. We consider the sample-complexity setting in which generating a copy of ρ is expensive, but joint measurements on many copies of the state are possible. We present a protocol for this task scaling with the principal eigenvalue λ and show that it is optimal within a space of natural approaches, e.g., applying quantum state purification followed by a single-copy classical shadows scheme. Furthermore, when λ is sufficiently close to 1, the performance of our algorithm is optimal—matching the sample complexity for pure state classical shadows. © 2024, CC BY.

Computational intelligence (CI) has been extensively used in financial technology areas to help make smart decisions within enormous solution spaces. This study proposes a new portfolio optimization model using hybrid strategies to concurrently consider long and short investments and compose effective portfolios assessed by an emerging indicator to reach an excellent balance between return and risk. It exploits the trend ratio investment strategy to a detailed extent to evaluate the steady uptrend and downtrend portfolios and provides an in-depth discussion of the U.S. stock market. The proposed method combines long and short selling through a single fund to enhance investment efficiency. quantum-inspired CI is adopted to construct a near-optimal portfolio efficiently and effectively, and sliding windows are applied to rebalance the portfolio and dynamically discover appropriate periods. The experiment conducts comprehensive statistical tests to show that hybrid strategies significantly improve traditional approaches. The comparison with other traditional methods shows outstanding performances in MDD, PF, RoMaD, return, and trend ratio. The proposed hybrid portfolio optimization application can be complementary, offset the volatility and increase the return, and show great potential in the financial industry. © 2023 IEEE.
