Fractional-order follower observer design for tracking consensus in second-order leader multi-agent systems: Periodic sampled-based event-triggered control

This paper investigates the tracking consensus problem for the second-order leader systems by designing fractional-order observer, where a periodic sampled-based data event-triggered control is employed. In order to track the position information of leader, observers for followers are designed by fractional-order system, where only the relative position information is available. Furthermore, in the process of observers design, a sampled-based event-triggered strategy is proposed so that observers use the event-triggered sampled-data, to reduce the overall load of the network. In our proposed event-triggered strategy, the event detection only works at every sampling time instant which determines whether the sampled-data should be discarded or used. Under this control strategy, the Zeno-behavior is absolutely excluded since the minimum of inter-event times is inherently lower bounded by one sampling period. It is found that the followers can track state of the leader if fractional-order observers are appropriately designed and relevant parameters are properly selected. By using the generalized Nyquist stability criterion, a necessary and sufficient condition for the observer tracking consensus of the second-order leader systems is derived. The results show that the real and imaginary parts of the eigenvalues of the augmented Laplacian matrix, and fractional-order a of observer play a vital role in reaching consensus. Hopf bifurcation in a love-triangle model with time delays

In this paper, a love-triangle model with nonlinear romantic sentimental interactions and four time delays is proposed. Regarding time delay as bifurcating parameter, the dynamical behaviors which include local asymptotical stability and Hopf bifurcation are studied in detail by analyzing the characteristic equation corresponding to the linearized system of a love-triangle model. When the delay passes through a sequence of critical values, we find that Hopf bifurcation occurs. Furthermore, stability and direction of bifurcating periodic solution are derived by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem in our love-triangle model. Finally, an illustrative example is also used to support our theoretical results. (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Finite-time event-triggered synchronization for reaction-diffusion complex networks

In this paper, we investigate the finite-time event-triggered synchronization problem of the reaction-diffusion complex networks (RDCNs) with Dirichlet boundary conditions. A novel nonlinear event-triggered controller is developed, which is based on the random sampled-data. Under the proposed controller, it is found that the Zeno behavior is naturally excluded and the finite-time synchronization of RDCNs is guaranteed. Moreover, by utilizing Lyapunov functional method and the inequality techniques, the finite-time synchronization condition of the RDCNs is derived as well as the finite time is calculated. Finally, numerical simulation results are provided to demonstrate the theoretical results. (C) 2018 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

H∞ bumpless transfer control of switched systems with time-varying delays

This paper investigates the H-infinity bumpless transfer control (HBTC) problem of switched systems with time-varying delays. A novel smooth switching state feedback controller is designed to eliminate the bumps existing in the classical switched state feedback control strategy. By the use of average dwell time (ADT) and multiple Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals, some solvability conditions for the HBTC problem are derived. The control gain matrices can be calculated by solving linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). A numerical example is employed to show the validity of the proposed results.

Exponential stability of delayed neural networks with delayed sampled-data inputs: An extended bilateral looped functional approach

In this paper, the exponential stability of delayed neural networks (DNNs) with delayed sampleddata inputs is investigated via extended bilateral looped functional approach. Firstly, a new extended bilateral looped functional is constructed, which is differentiable at sampling intervals and can relax the constraints on positive definiteness when compared to traditional functionals. Then, less conservative criteria for exponential stability of DNNs with delayed sampled-data inputs expressed through linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) are obtained. Furthermore, the results are extended to T-S fuzzy DNNs with delayed sampled-data inputs, where corresponding stability conditions are likewise derived. Robust Stabilization of Uncertain Switched nonlinear Systems With Hybrid Saturated Inputs

In this article, we propose a novel class of mathematical models of uncertain switched nonlinear systems with saturation constraints on both the sampled-data control signal and the impulsive signal, which can reflect the actuator saturation phenomenon of hybrid control signals more realistically. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory, polytopic representation approach, matrix inequality, and Schur complement, we analyze the robust stability of the considered system, overcoming the relevant difficulties from the parameter uncertainty, the discontinuity produced by impulsive effect and the input constraints on both the sampled-data control signal and the impulsive signal. Moreover, to make it easier to find the suitable control gains, the design of the hybrid control gains is investigated. And, some optimization problems are also established to obtain the larger estimation of the attraction domain. Simulation results for the system consisting of two neural network subsystems are presented to show the feasibility and effectiveness of our robust stabilization methods and the LMI optimization problems.

Constrained hybrid control for parametric uncertainty systems via step-function method

In this paper, considering that sometimes signal transmission may be interrupted, or sig-nal input errors may occur, we establish a novel class of parametric uncertainty hybrid control system models including the impulsive control signals under saturated inputs, which can reflect the signal transmission process more realistically. Based on the step-function method, improved polytopic repre-sentation approach and Schur complement, we find the stability conditions, which are less conservative than those with the traditional Lyapunov method, of the considered control system. In addition, we in-vestigate the design of the control gains and the auxiliary control gains for easily finding the suitable control signals, the auxiliary signals and the estimation of the attraction domain. Moreover, our pro-posed methods are applied to the fixed time impulse problems of uncertain systems with or without Zeno behavior. Simulation results for the uncertain neural network systems are presented to show the feasibility and effectiveness of our stabilization methods using the step-function.

Accelerated Projection Algorithm Based on Smoothing Approximation for Distributed Nonsmooth Optimization

In this article, a distributed smoothing accelerated projection algorithm (DSAPA) is proposed to address constrained nonsmooth convex optimization problems over undirected multiagent networks in a distributed manner, where the objective function is free of the assumption of the Lipschitz gradient or strong convexity. First, based on a distributed exact penalty method, the original optimization problem is translated to a problem of standard assignment without consensus constraints. Then, a novel DSAPA by combining the smoothing approximation with Nesterov's accelerated schemes, is proposed. In addition, we provide a systematic analysis to derive an upper bound on the convergence rate in terms of the objective function based on penalty function and to choose the optimal step size accordingly. Our results demonstrate that the proposed DSAPA can reach $O({\log (k)}/{k})$ when the optimal step size is chosen. Finally, the effectiveness and correctness of the proposed algorithm are verified by numerical and practical application examples.

Secure and Efficient Data Deduplication in JointCloud Storage

Data deduplication can efficiently eliminate data redundancies in cloud storage and reduce the bandwidth requirement of users. However, most previous schemes depending on the help of a trusted key server (KS) are vulnerable and limited because they suffer from revealing information, poor resistance to attacks, great computational overhead, etc. In particular, if the trusted KS fails, the whole system stops working, i.e., single-point-of-failure. In this article, we propose a Secure and Efficient data Deduplication scheme (named SED) in a JointCloud storage system which provides the global services via collaboration with various clouds. SED also supports dynamic data update and sharing without the help of the trusted KS. Moreover, SED can overcome the single-point-of-failure that commonly occurs in the classic cloud storage system. According to the theoretical analyses, our SED ensures the semantic security in the random oracle model and has strong anti-attack ability such as the brute-force attack resistance and the collusion attack resistance. Besides, SED can effectively eliminate data redundancies with low computational complexity and communication and storage overhead. The efficiency and functionality of SED improves the usability in client-side. Finally, the comparing results show that the performance of our scheme is superior to that of the existing schemes

Huber-based Unscented Kalman Filters with the q-gradient

This study presents the Huber-based unscented Kalman filters with the q-gradient (HUKF-Q). As an extension of the classical gradient vector based on the concept of Jackson's derivative, the q-gradient can be utilised to improve the optimisation performance of the Huber method, significantly. Combining the Huber method based on the q-gradient into state estimation based on the unscented transformation, generates the novel HUKF-Q. The Cramer-Rao lower bound is introduced as a performance measure metric. Compared with the conventional HUKF, the proposed HUKF-Q can achieve better filtering accuracy and robustness. In addition, the impact of the tuning parameter q on the filtering performance is discussed by simulations. Simulations on the two examples of univariate non-stationary growth model and bearings only tracking model, confirm the superior performance of the proposed HUKF-Q.
