Delay partitioning approach to robust stability analysis for uncertain stochastic systems with interval time-varying delay

This study investigates the problem of delay-dependent robust stability for uncertain stochastic systems with interval time-varying delay. No restrictions on the derivative of the time-varying delay are imposed, although lower and upper bounds of the delay interval are assumed to be known. By decomposing the delay interval into multiple equidistant subintervals, new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals are introduced on these intervals, which result in being much less conservative than most existing results in the literature. In addition, the reduction in the conservatism of the proposed stability criteria is also attributed to the free-weighting matrix technique and a newly proposed bounding condition, which is used to estimate the upper bound of stochastic differential of the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional without neglecting any useful terms. All the stability criteria are formulated in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which are dependent on the size of the time delay. Some numerical examples are given to show the less conservatism and applicability of the obtained results. Moreover, when the number of the divided subintervals increases, the corresponding criteria can provide an improvement on the results.

C-mode imaging is one of the ultrasound imaging modalities. Compared with other modalities, e.g. A-mode, B-mode, M-mode, and Doppler, C-mode is mainly developed and used in industry testing. The potential of C-mode imaging for medical application has not been fully explored. In this paper, we design one 2-d plane array transducer through using the point spread function (PSF), and apply the 2d array transducer for C-mode imaging. The simulation results show that the generated C-mode images can display the anatomic structure and the pathological changes on the biological tissue. © (2012) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Parameters selection of support vector machine is the key issue that impacts its accurate performance.A method for support vector regression machine with standard particle swarm optimization (SPSO) algorithm is proposed in this ***, in order to improve the performance of the SPSO algorithm, the concept of the particles’ average distance and fitness variance is proposed to make the efficiency of algorithm ***, the improve algorithm was also applied in this *** two different models using SPSO and IPSO respectively were used to forecast the density of the acid-lead battery *** experimental results indicate that both SPSO and IPSO have high prediction accuracy and *** time of the parametric searching by IPSO is obviously decreased to that of *** mean squared error (MSE) of the prediction model using SPSO is about 2.02056×10-4, Meanwhile, the MSE of the model using IPSO is only about 1.9324×***, the IPSO algorithm has more superior performance on convergence speed and global optimization.

Target detecting algorithm in infrared image is drawing extensive attention both at home and abroad, expecially when the infrared images own complex backgrounds and low *** to make sure of the accuracy of infrared dim-small target detecting is the key point during the processing *** this paper, a novel region of interest detecting algorithm is proposed for aerial small dim infrared target with clutter *** from traditional region of interest extraction method, we extract region of interest based on the grayscale merging algorithm and connected components analysising ***, the infrared image is reconstructed by separating the grayscale into several interval sections, then binarization is used to segment the processed image according to estimate the threshold value using minimum error probability;finally, analysis and select the connected components, to sift the accurate connected domain which contain the *** validity of the proposed approach is demonstrated by experiment of infrared target region extraction.

Time-dependent resilience assessment and improvement of urban infrastructure systems

This paper introduces an approach to assess and improve the time-dependent resilience of urban infrastructure systems, where resilience is defined as the systems' ability to resist various possible hazards, absorb the initial damage from hazards, and recover to normal operation one or multiple times during a time period T. For different values of T and its position relative to current time, there are three forms of resilience: previous resilience, current potential resilience, and future potential resilience. This paper mainly discusses the third form that takes into account the systems' future evolving processes. Taking the power transmission grid in Harris County, Texas, USA as an example, the time-dependent features of resilience and the effectiveness of some resilience-inspired strategies, including enhancement of situational awareness, management of consumer demand, and integration of distributed generators, are all simulated and discussed. Results show a nonlinear nature of resilience as a function of T, which may exhibit a transition from an increasing function to a decreasing function at either a threshold of post-blackout improvement rate, a threshold of load profile with consumer demand management, or a threshold number of integrated distributed generators. These results are further confirmed by studying a typical benchmark system such as the IEEE RTS-96. Such common trends indicate that some resilience strategies may enhance infrastructure system resilience in the short term, but if not managed well, they may compromise practical utility system resilience in the long run. Transmission projective synchronization of multi-systems with non-delayed and delayed coupling via impulsive control

This paper mainly investigates the transmission projective synchronization of multi systems with non-delayed and delayed coupling via impulsive control. Based on the stability analysis of impulsive differential equation, the control laws and updating laws are designed to realize the transmission projective synchronization. Some criteria and corollaries are derived for the transmission projective synchronization among multi-systems. Numerical examples are presented to verify the effectiveness and correctness of the synchronization within a desired scaling factor. For the multi-systems synchronization model, it seems to have more valuable than the usual one drive system and one response system synchronization model. (C) 2012 American Institute of Physics. The one-sided Lipschitz non-linear system is a generalisation of its well-known Lipschitz counterpart and possesses inherent advantages with respect to conservativeness. In this study, the authors deal with the problem of observer design for one-sided Lipschitz non-linear systems by using the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach. Sufficient conditions that ensure the existence of observers for one-sided Lipschitz non-linear systems are established and expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which are easily and numerically tractable via standard software algorithms. It is shown that the proposed conditions are less conservative and more simpler than some existing results in recent literature. Simulation results on two examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed design.

As it is known that launch vehicle is facing a very harsh environment during the fight process. The challenge of various perturbations and uncertainties has lead to many traditional control methods' failure to meet the requirements of attitude control system. Due to the main advantage of sliding mode control's robustness to the system uncertainties and disturbances in the so-called sliding mode, it has been widely used in engineering. In this paper, regarding particularly on chattering problem, the authors developed a novel dynamic integral sliding mode control scheme and the comparative simulation results carried out with traditional dynamic integral sliding mode demonstrates the superiority of the newly designed control law.

This paper aims to guarantee high-precision tracking of the desired optical path difference velocity for a Fourier transform spectrometer (FTS) in a space exploration system with time-varying parameters and nonlinear dynamics. A novel characteristic model-based adaptive discrete-time sliding mode control (ADSMC) scheme is proposed. The design of the ADSMC includes characteristic modeling, characteristic model-based discrete-time sliding mode control, and the estimator of the uncertain coefficients. The stability analysis of the ADSMC is also given in this paper. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed characteristic model-based ADSMC can achieve high-precision control over a Michelson interferometer-based FTS. The significant advantages of the proposed ADSMC are its robustness and better control performance over the external disturbance and internal parameter uncertainty of the system.

In this paper, we present an online ascent phase trajectory reconstruction algorithm using Gauss Pseudospectral *** Pseudospectral Method (GPM) was used to transform the ascent phase trajectory optimization problem into Nonlinear Program Problem (NLP), we solve the problem using a optimization software named GPOPS in *** this method we can calculate the optimal trajectory control volume and feedback to update the guidance commands *** analysis of the optimized results has been done to prove its *** last, we compare the trajectory recon- struction algorithm to a law without reconstruction algorithm via simulation with aerodynamic and thrust *** simulation results indicate that the method proposed above offers improved performance and has ability for real-time calculating.
