Although the analysis of electromagnetic sources transformation under the theory of transformation optics has been widely discussed in many literatures, there are few discussions about actual antennas in the context of coordinate transformation. In this paper, we deduce the proper feeding formulation which is excited upon antennas according to the transformation method of ideal electromagnetic sources, and validate the analysis through numerical simulation of a specific example. This analysis shows that we can design a conformal antenna which has the same field distribution with the antenna having the desired performance by covering the antenna with transformed media. This method provides a new way in designing conformal antennas.

A switchable dual-wavelength erbium-doped fiber laser is proposed and experimentMly demonstrated, which is constructed by a polarization-maintaining fiber Sagnac loop mirror (PMF-SLM) and two FBGs with different wavelengths. Wavelength switching operation is achieved by properly adjusting the polariza~ tion controller (PC) in the PMF-SLM. Stable single- or dual-wavelength lasing output can be realized. The maximum amplitude variation for every lasing wavelength is less than 1 dB, and the signal-to-amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) ratio is about 35 dB.

A cost-effective frequency-quadrupling scheme which is capable of generating high frequency millimeter-wave (mm-wave) signal is theoretically proposed. By employing optical two-step self-heterodyne technique, this scheme is easy to realize and have a high efficiency. Base on this scheme, a frequency-octupling frequency component is generated. This proposed scheme is a viable solution for the future ultra-high frequency mm-wave applications.
