In this work,a sustainable method to prepare functional cellulose nanocrystals(CNCs)and cellulose nanofibrils(CNFs)using formic acid(FA)(a recoverable organic acid)was *** FA hydrolysis,the obtained CNCs could be well dispersed in ***,the CNC products and fibrous cellulosic solid residue(FCSR)in DMAC could be easily separated by a conventional centrifugal process,and the collected FCSR could be further fibrillated to CNFs with relatively low-intensity mechanical fibrillation *** isolated CNC products showed high crystallinity index(about 75%)and excellent thermal stability(with onset thermal degradation temperature of 325℃).Both the resultant CNCs and CNFs showed better dispersibility in DMSO,DMF and DMAC respectively because of the introduction of ester groups on the surface of the *** presence of surface ester groups could increase the interface compatibility of nanocelluloses with polymeric matrices and enable their applications in reinforcing polymeric matrix materials(*** composite films like PHVB+CNFs).

In the laser edge banding system, automatic color reading and adjustment of input color matching that of edge banding is an important factor in achieving high automation level. This paper describes a working prototype designed for color-based automatic sorting of objects. TCS3200 sensor was used to detect the color of the product; and Arduino board was used to control the overall process in which matching sealing edge was introduced. Color input was based on analysis of reading of TCS3200 sensor. Results illustrated matching of color in a series of products coded E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, E6, E7, and E8. According to the results, we concluded that laser edge sealing reduces unstable factors, reduces labor and stalibizes product quality.

In this study, the authors used hot wax selected from beeswax and insect wax. These two types of wax are blended with a 1: 1 ratio. Then use three methods of surface treatment before wax coating on the Ash wood surface including hydrothermal method, compound lye method, and plasma method. Through comparative analysis of 4 properties: color, adhesion, hardness and surface properties of the hydrophobic coating. The results show that the hot wax coating on the ash surface can maintain the original color of the wood. Comparison of three methods of wood treatment shows that: plasma method for the coating surface has the best adhesion, hydrothermal method for best surface hardness of the coating, and the hydrophobicity of hot wax after hydrothermal pretreatment is the best.

Nanocelluloses have emerged as novel materials and attracted significant interest from both academia and *** can now be produced at pilot plant and pre-commercial scales,and even at commercial scales in some regions in the *** commercial applications of nanocelluloses have entered commercial stages though their full potentials are yet to be *** this short communication,the applications of these nanomaterials are high-lighted,including high-volume applications(e.g.,paper,textiles),high-value applications(e.g.,aerogels and structure materials for aerospace),and novel/emerging applications(e.g.,organic light emitting diodes,photonic films).Close collaboration between industries and the academic world would facilitate the development of commercial markets for using nanocelluloses in existing/new areas.
