Wireless Multimedia sensor network (WMSN) need to transfer large amounts of video streaming data, how to achieve efficient and reliable transmission becomes a research hotspot. Layered scalable coding techniques can reduce the amount of data to improve channel efficiency. The multi-path transmission technology can balance the network load to fully utilize network resources. This paper presents a multi-path transmission algorithm for Layered scalable coding. First, the source node divides the video source sequence into base layer and enhancement layers through scalable video coding. Second, the energy delay gradient and delay gradient are set up for each sensor node. Last, multiple paths with different service quality are set up according to node gradient, so that it can adapt to the transmission needs of different stream layers. Simulation results show that the algorithm has good bandwidth adaptation and can better meet the business requirements of different users. ©2011 IEEE.

For some existing handoff control algorithms in Aerospace Information network, the success rate of their handoff calls is not high. This paper proposes a handoff control algorithm based on service priorities and channel reservation. The services are divided into different priorities, and reserve different number of channels for different businesses according to their priorities. Besides, the algorithm allows the emergency services to seize the channel resources. Simulation results show that when comparing with the traditional handoff algorithms, the algorithm we proposed can reduce the handoff failure rate. And ensure the handoff performance of emergency users. © 2011 IEEE.

WiFi signals have attracted extensive attention for context-aware due to its ubiquity. Traditional WiFi sensing methods mainly adopt Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI), however the coarse features hamper its expansion. To achieve more finger-grained information, Channel State Information (CSI) is introduced for sensing, based on which, we design a directional human detection scheme via data prediction, which aims to visualize the variations of CSI when human appears. However, this scheme suffers from the limitations caused by the link-centric architecture of WiFi. Considering the demands for omnidirectional coverage of some scenarios (e.g. museum exhibition), we propose a omni-directional detection scheme based on fingerprinting utilizing the relationship between the CSI signal features and locations. Experiments are processed in actual scenarios and experimental results verify the feasibility of our two schemes. © 2015 ACM.

The Wyner-Ziv distributed video coding scheme is characterized for its intraframe encoder and interframe decoder which can also approach the efficiency of an interframe encoder-decoder system. In Wyner-Ziv residual coding of video, the residual of a frame with respect to a reference frame is Wyner-Ziv encoded, which can reduces the input entropy and leads to a higher coding efficiency than directly encoding the original frame. In this paper, we propose a new approach of residual coding combined with Region Of Interest (ROI) extraction. Experimental results show that, the proposed scheme achieves better rate-distortion performance compared to conventional Wyner-Ziv coding scheme.

Distributed Deep Learning for Cooperative Computation Offloading in Low Earth Orbit Satellite networks

Low earth orbit(LEO) satellite network is an important development trend for future mobile communication systems, which can truly realize the“ubiquitous connection” of the whole world. In this paper, we present a cooperative computation offloading in the LEO satellite network with a three-tier computation architecture by leveraging the vertical cooperation among ground users, LEO satellites, and the cloud server, and the horizontal cooperation between LEO satellites. To improve the quality of service for ground users, we optimize the computation offloading decisions to minimize the total execution delay for ground users subject to the limited battery capacity of ground users and the computation capability of each LEO satellite. However, the formulated problem is a large-scale nonlinear integer programming problem as the number of ground users and LEO satellites increases, which is difficult to solve with general optimization algorithms. To address this challenging problem, we propose a distributed deep learning-based cooperative computation offloading(DDLCCO) algorithm, where multiple parallel deep neural networks(DNNs) are adopted to learn the computation offloading strategy dynamically. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve near-optimal performance with low computational complexity compared with other computation offloading strategies.

Camera calibration is the essential step of obtaining 3D information from 2D views in the field of computer vision, which is widely used in the area of 3D reconstruction, navigation, visual supervision, etc. A camera self-calibration method based on dual constraints of multi-view images is proposed to make calibration possible when there is no reference calibration block or the movement of camera is arbitrary. In this method, multi-view images are preprocessed first to select three images which are most suitable for camera self-calibration, then we use the method based on the genetic algorithm, the camera parameters are finally estimated by using epipolar geometry matching error and reprojection error as fitness functions as two steps. Experimental results show that the proposed camera self-calibration method is correct and effective. © 2011 IEEE.

This paper proposes a novel approach to simultaneously estimate speaker identity and the other two traits of the speaker, specifically, emotion and gender. This simultaneous process is named as multi-dimensional speaker information recognition. We choose i-vector to represent the utterance with different duration as fixed length vector. In our paper, we first build individual neural networks (NN) for each single recognition task. In this single task, the input is i-vector of one speaker and the output is the corresponding one-hot vector. We then design a multi-task learning (MTL), the difference with the single task is the NN output, which contains three parallel one-hot vectors for MTL. The one-hot vectors denote the identity, emotion and gender information, respectively. The proposed approach is conducted on the KSU-Emotions corpus, which was recorded mainly for emotional recognition. Experimental results show that the best multi-task mechanism recognition accuracy is 4.6% better than the single task. © 2018 IEEE.

Logic qubit plays an important role in current quantum communication. In this paper, we propose an efficient entanglement concentration protocol (ECP) for a new kind of logic Bell state, where the logic qubit is the concatenated Greenber- Horne- Zeilinger (C-GHZ) state. Our ECP relies on the nondemolition polarization parity check (PPC) gates constructed with cross-Kerr nonlinearity, and can distill one pair of maximally entangled logic Bell state from two same pairs of less-entangled logic Bell states. Benefit from the nondemolition PPC gates, the concentrated maximally entangled logic Bell st ate can be remained for further application. Moreover, our ECP can be rcpea ted to further concentrate the less-entangled logic Bell state. By repeating the ECP. the total success probability can be effectively increased. Based on above features, this ECP may be useful in future long-distance quantum communication.
