Target detection and field surveillance are among the most prominent applications of wirelesssensornetworks. The quality of detection achieved by a sensornetwork can be quantified by evaluating the probability of detecting a mobile target crossing a sensing field. Detection probability of sensor nodes has been studied in sensornetworks for many purposes such as quality of service and decision making. However, the sensing capabilities of sensors are affected by environmental factors in real deployment. This paper investigates the problem of detecting probability in a log-normal shadow fading environment. It presents an analytic method to evaluate the detection probability by at least k sensors under practical considerations. Furthermore, we also shows that shadow fading makes significant influence in detection probability compared to unit disk sensing model through extensive simulation experiments.

wirelesssensornetworks (WSN) are mainly characterized by a potentially large number of distributed sensor nodes which collectively transmit information about sensed events to the sink. In this paper, we present a centralized generating algorithm running at the sink to obtain the distributed wavelet basis in WSN. And on this basis, Wavelet Transform-based Distributed Compressed Sensing (WTDCS) algorithm is proposed to compress and reconstruct sensor observations with spatial correlations. Finally, the analysis of relationship between reconstruction error and energy consumption in WTDCS is carried out by simulation. The results show that WTDCS can achieve high performance in terms of energy and reconstruction accuracy, as compared to conventional distributed wavelet transform algorithm.

This method embeds watermark into the source data packets, which will be extracted at the base station (BS). The BS will judge whether there are malicious nodes in the transmission path by analyzing the packet loss rate from received data. Simulation results show that this method can effectively detect whether malicious nodes have discarded or tampered the contents of the packets.

wireless Multimedia sensornetwork (WMSN) need to transfer large amounts of video streaming data, how to achieve efficient and reliable transmission becomes a research hotspot. Layered scalable coding techniques can reduce the amount of data to improve channel efficiency. The multi-path transmission technology can balance the network load to fully utilize network resources. This paper presents a multi-path transmission algorithm for Layered scalable coding. First, the source node divides the video source sequence into base layer and enhancement layers through scalable video coding. Second, the energy delay gradient and delay gradient are set up for each sensor node. Last, multiple paths with different service quality are set up according to node gradient, so that it can adapt to the transmission needs of different stream layers. Simulation results show that the algorithm has good bandwidth adaptation and can better meet the business requirements of different users.

Interdependency among system parameters may significantly affect the cross-layer design and optimization performance of wirelessnetworks. However, it is very difficult to derive the interdependency among system parameters in a dynamic complex networking system due to the uncertainty of data observation and system modeling. In this research, we propose a new approach for dynamic interdependency measure among system parameters by using non-additive measure theory. In particular, the Choquet integral model is applied to distinguish the interaction among system parameters towards the objective function through a set of non-additive measures. Then the most significant effect subset of system parameters on the performance metrics of interest for system objective function is identified. The simulations show that it is only need to adjust the parameters in the optimized subset according to the interdependency measure can improved the network throughput, consequently, the radio resource is utilized more reasonably.
