This paper investigates the impacts of network coding (NC) on user fairness from the network perspective in multiple access channels. Firstly, simultaneous outage is exploited as the metric to evaluate user fairness. To optimize it, a fairness-oriented physical layer NC scheme is proposed, in which users' signals are superimposed in specific calculated proportion at relay and then decoded by maximal ratio combination (MRC) and serial interference cancellation (SIC) at destination. Furthermore, the influence of power allocation coefficient error on simultaneous outage is also analyzed to reveal its correlation with user fairness. Simulation results indicate that the proposed scheme can supply approximately equal performance promotion for each cooperation-participated user and outperform those without fairness consideration in terms of the employed metric.

Due to the unpredictability of continuous data in distributed applications, it is hard for system to deal with data explosion in limited time. As a result, traditional static data storage technology fails to meet the demands for real-time data processing. To improve processing ability, many parallel processing structures are proposed, which brings up the problem that how the parallel machines can be scheduled to maximize their efficiency. Accordingly, a dynamic assignment scheduling algorithm for stream computing is proposed and a stream query graph is built to calculate the weight of every edge. The edge with the minimum weight is selected to send tuples. Simulation results show that the proper number of the logic machines could dramatically reduce system response time. Furthermore, system context switching is reduced by increasing the number of tuples sent every time.

Heterogeneous wirelesssensornetwork (HWSN) consists of sensor nodes with different ability, such as computing power and sensing range. Compared with homogeneous wirelesssensornetwork, the design of protocols for such networks has to be more complex due to the energy constraint in order to prolong the lifetime of the network. As energy consumption mostly comes from the radio transmissions, bandwidth utilization affects the network lifetime greatly. In this paper, a novel lossless data aggregation scheme (Better-to-Fit) is presented for the clustering-based HWSN to improve the bandwidth utilization without introducing extra computation. The average performance is evaluated theoretically and validated by simulations. It has been found that the proposed aggregation technique can minimize the aggregation time under energy constraint and achieve promising efficiency in terms of bandwidth utilization.

network Coding (NC) is an effective technology to enhance the cooperative system spectral efficiency. However, since it is network-oriented, the existing performance metric of single-user outage can not comprehensively evaluate its gain and the impact to the entire network, which affect the user fairness. This paper proposes two novel user fair-based adaptive relay power allocation algorithms in single-relay NC cooperative multiple access channels. Firstly, common outage probability is employed as the performance metric, and to minimize it, a specific condition is deduced. On this basis, the instantaneous channel information-based adaptive relay power allocation scheme and the channel statistic information-based one with lower complexity are designed respectively, which make users' signals superimposed at accurately calculated proportion to maintain fairness. Simulation results show that compared with other existing schemes, the proposed schemes can best maintain user fairness, and effectively improve the common outage performance of the whole system, at the expense of small spectral efficiency.

A novel back-projection framework for single image super-resolution is proposed in this paper. In our framework, the edge of the high-resolution image is firstly detected by the canny edge detection algorithm and the bilateral filtering algorithm, and the high-resolution image is divided into edge area and flat area. Then the edge area of the high resolution image is filtered by the adaptive kernel regression denoising algorithm in the iterative back-projection process. And the flat area of the high resolution image is reconstructed by the iterative back- projection method. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can reconstruct high quality images in both the measure of objective quality and the subjective perception.

Based on the sequence entropy of Shannon information theory, we work on the network coding technology in wirelesssensornetwork (WSN). In this paper, we take into account the similarity of the transmission sequences at the network coding node in the multi-sources and multi-receivers network in order to compress the data redundancy. Theoretical analysis and computer simulation results show that this proposed scheme not only further improves the efficiency of network transmission and enhances the throughput of the network, but also reduces the energy consumption of sensor nodes and extends the network life cycle.

In this paper, a novel video back projection super- resolution method using non-local prior is proposed. Our approach has three steps. First, we make initial motion estimation with block-matching and fine block matching to search for the pixels with similar structural content from video sequences. In this process, an adaptive technique is introduced to avoid redundant search. Second, we do initial interpolation to the input video sequences and a bilateral filtering is applied to the interpolation frames to achieve edge-preserving image smoothing. Third, a video non-local means filter is applied to modify the error image in iteration step of the iterative back projection. The experimental result shows that the proposed method can increase image details, moreover, the chessboard effect and ringing effect along image edges can be removed and sharp and clear edges in visual perception will be obtained.
