network coding has been confirmed as a potential technology to improve performance of wireless mesh networks (WMNs) and a few network coding aware routings have been proposed. However, these mechanisms detect coding opportunities through local traffic pattern checking, which hardly obtains optimal routes. This paper proposes a Genetic algorithm based Coding Aware Routing (GCAR) for wireless mesh networks, which employs genetic algorithm to optimize routes and coding opportunities. In addition, the key ingredients in GCAR, e.g., chromosome representation, genetic operation of crossover and mutation, fitness function considering coding opportunity and interference, are carefully designed. Through simulations on a randomly generated wireless mesh network, GCAR is shown to find optimal routes within a short time, and achieve more improvements than the previously proposed methods on route setup time, throughput and load balancing.

In this paper, we consider the buffer-aided multi-relay MIMO-OFDM networks and propose a joint space-time-frequency subchannel pairing scheme, in which subchannels of the source to relay links and relay to the destination links are paired in time, frequency, and space domain (TPFPSP) simultaneously. TPFPSP scheme can increase the equivalent channel gains between source and destination. We derive new expressions for the energy efficiency, the system capacity and the outage probability to examine the performance of TPFPSP scheme. Our analytical and numerical results outline that this TPFPSP scheme brings higher capacity, energy efficiency and better outage probability performance to our system. This work reported here provides detailed insights into the design of new subchannel pairing scheme, which achieves full diversity in space, time and frequency domains.

Traditional mobile communication systems mainly work on the licensed frequency band near or below 3 GHz; however, this band is becoming increasingly crowded. On the other hand, there are abundant unlicensed spectrum resources in higher frequency bands, e.g., 6 GHz, 15 GHz, and 28 GHz, and if those bands are applied, the current spectrum shortage problem could be effectively alleviated. However, the wireless channel characteristics and models are important but still unknown, and thus in this study, extensive measurements and modeling have been conducted to study the characteristics of the high-frequency 15-GHz band. Specifically, a PN(Pseudo Noise) sequence based time-domain measurement system was built and applied to measure the propagation characteristics of the LOS (Line-of-Sight) and NLOS (Non-Line-of-Sight) scenarios in an indoor corridor at 15 GHz. Then, in-depth analysis and modeling on the large-scale characteristics of wireless channels, the relationship between distance and path loss, the path loss exponent, and the shadow fading standard variance are provided. Moreover, the relationship between received power and different elevation angles was studied. In the measurement, two 25-dBi horn antennas with a 10 half-power beam width are used to change elevation angles in the transmitting terminal and azimuth angles in the receiving terminal for all measurement points. The findings and results in this work will serve as a reference and basis for future theoretical studies of the 15-GHz band.

This paper proposes an integrated poor-quality model to find the potential relationship between elected STB (set-top boxes) indicators and network conditions. The target is to make the IPTV network fault diagnosis more accurately and efficiently, especially for the sudden pause or blurred screen. The integrated poor-quality model consists of indicator, record and user model. Firstly, the poor-quality indicator model is in charge of selecting the effective indexes from candidate STB indicators. From the result of experiment, we conclude that jitter, abend-number and MLR (media loss rate) are the most important QoS (Quality of Service) parameters in our scenario. Secondly, the poor-quality record model has responsibility for adjustment of threshold values in order to meet the needs of higher accuracy rate with lower misjudgment ratio. Finally, the poor-quality user model takes customer's viewing time parameter into account, which can reflect end user's quality of experience objectively.

Quantum steering is one form of quantum correlations interpolating between entanglement and Bell nonlocality, which in some cases can be detected by various steering inequalities. Recently, a remarkable and useful steerability criterion via geometric Bell-like inequalities was established [M. Zukowski, A. Dutta, and Z. Yin, Phys. Rev. A 91, 032107 (2015)]. We report an experimental investigation of this steering criterion and verify the geometric Bell-like steering inequality experimentally by using of the Werner states. The results demonstrate that the geometric Bell-like steering inequality is a convenient tool to detect quantum steering both theoretically and practically.
