Semi-supervised clustering ensemble has emerged as an important elaboration of classical clustering problem that improves quality and robustness in clustering by combining the results of different clustering components with user provided constraints. In this paper, we propose a novel semi-supervised consensus clustering algorithm based on multi-ant colonies. Our method incorporates pairwise constraints not only in each ant colony clustering process, but also in computing new similarity matrix during the multi-ant colonies ensemble. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

Query-oriented relevance, information richness and novelty are important requirements in query-focused summarization, which, to a considerable extent, determine the summary quality. Previous work either rarely took into account all above demands simultaneously or dealt with part of them in the dynamic process of choosing sentences to generate a summary. In this paper, we propose a novel approach that integrates all these requirements skillfully by treating them as sentence features, making that the finally generated summary could fully reflect the combinational effect of these properties. Experimental results on the DUC2005 and DUC2006 datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach. © 2012 ACM.

With the popularity of Web 2.0, comments left by readers on web documents have drawn much attention. In this paper, we study the problem of comments-oriented document summarization, which aims to summarize a web document by considering not only its content but also the comments. Generally, most of the comments usually convey one or a few aspects of the document. Given a sentence set from both the web document and its corresponding comments to summarize, we can divide different sentences into different clusters (named "aspects") according to the content. It is challenging and interesting to summarize the web document based on these clusters. Motivated by this, we propose a novel model: MultiAspectCoRank, for comments-oriented document summarization. Firstly we rank all the sentences based on the multiple aspects obtained from the whole document, and then provide each ranking list as feedback to others until the top-N results of each ranking list are unchanged. We get the final result by integrating these different ranking lists together. Experimental results on a set of real-world blog data with manually labeled sentences show the promising performance of our approach. © 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

Recently, much research focuses on event storyline generation, which aims to produce a concise, global and temporal event summary from a collection of articles. Generally, each event contains multiple sub-events and the storyline should be composed by the component summaries of all the sub-events. However, different sub-events have different part-whole relationship with the major event, which is important to correspond to users' interests but seldom considered in previous work. To distinguish different types of sub-events, we propose a mixture-event-aspect model which models different sub-events into local and global aspects. Combining these local/global aspects with summarization requirements together, we utilize an optimization method to generate the component summaries along the timeline. We develop experimental systems on 6 distinctively different datasets. Evaluation and comparison results indicate the effectiveness of our proposed method. © 2013 Association for Computational Linguistics.

Query-oriented multi-document summarization (QMDS) attempts to generate a concise piece of text byextracting sentences from a target document collection, withthe aim of not only conveying the key content of that corpus,also, satisfying the information needs expressed by that *** to its great applicable value, QMDS has been intensively studied in recent decades. Three properties are supposed crucial for a good summary, i.e., relevance, prestige and low redundancy (orso-called diversity). Unfortunately, most existing work either disregarded the concern of diversity, or handled it with non-optimized heuristics, usually based on greedy sentences election. Inspired by the manifold-ranking process, which deals with query-biased prestige, and DivRank algorithm which captures query-independent diversity ranking, in this paper, we propose a novel biased diversity ranking model, namedManifoldDivRank, for query-sensitive summarization tasks. The top-ranked sentences discovered by our algorithm not only enjoy query-oriented high prestige, more importantly, they are dissimilar with each other. Experimental results on DUC2005and DUC2006 benchmark data sets demonstrate the effectivenessof our proposal. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Today’s Internet architecture was designed and proposed in the 60s and 70s with the intention to interconnect several computing resources across a geographically distributed user group. With the advent of substantially various Internet businesses, traditional Internet is increasingly powerless to satisfy the unprecedented demands. This paper probed the polymorphic routing prototype based on proposed Flexible Architecture of Reconfigurable Infrastructure (FARI) which attempts to emerge as a clean-slate revolution of future Internet and resorts to centralized control manner. Routers in FARI were reconfigurable to adapt to different businesses in terms of identifier type. There are more and more emerging problems in today’s Internet, indicating today’s Internet architecture can not meet the quality requirement of various applications and service. With conventional Internet under mounting pressure, a new future Internet architecture named as Flexible Architecture of Reconfigurable Infrastructure (FARI) has been developed and implemented in China. Aiming at designing a routing mechanism which is one of the most essential issue in any Internet architecture, this paper explores to establish an optimization-based atomic capability routing model that is able to optimally select or generate a routing protocol based on the current network quality of service (QoS) requirement. In experiments, the feasibility of this routing model is verified and results of complexity analysis are satisfying. ©Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2014.

Dedicated to overcoming weakness of current Internet architecture, some novel internet architectures have been proposed recently. Examples of these architectures contain Information Centric Networking (ICN), Name Data Networking (NDN), reconfigurable networking etc. As far as we know, the most efficient name based routing mechanism which suites the new architectures has not been found yet. This paper proposed a Semi-Centralized Name Routing (SCNR) protocol for reconfigurable network to enhance the routing efficiency. Results of this paper show that SCNR has good performance in ICN, which can be regarded as one of the many sub-networks in reconfigurable network. © Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2014.

Static cache partitioning can reduce inter- application cache interference and improve the composite performance of a cache-polluted application and a cache- sensitive application when they run on cores that share the last level cache in the same multi-core processor. In a virtu- alized system, since different applications might run on dif- ferent virtual machines （VMs） in different time, it is inappli- cable to partition the cache statically in advance. This paper proposes a dynamic cache partitioning scheme that makes use of hot page detection and page migration to improve the com- posite performance of co-hosted virtual machines dynami- cally according to prior knowledge of cache-sensitive appli- cations. Experimental results show that the overhead of our page migration scheme is low, while in most cases, the com- posite performance is an improvement over free composition.

The acquiring of sentence similarity has become a crucial step in graph-based multi-document summarization algorithms which have been intensively studied during the past decade. Previous algorithms generally considered sentence-level structure information and semantic similarity separately, which, consequently, had no access to grab similarity information comprehensively. In this paper, we present a general framework to exemplify how to combine the two factors above together so as to derive a corpus-oriented and more discriminative sentence similarity. Experimental results on the DUC2004 dataset demonstrate that our approaches could improve the multi-document summarization performance to a considerable extent. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
