In recent years, diffusion models have achieved tremendous success in the field of video generation, with controllable video generation receiving significant attention. However, existing control methods still face two limitations: Firstly, control conditions (such as depth maps, 3D Mesh) are difficult for ordinary users to obtain directly. Secondly, it's challenging to drive multiple objects through complex motions with multiple trajectories simultaneously. In this paper, we introduce DragEntity, a video generation model that utilizes entity representation for controlling the motion of multiple objects. Compared to previous methods, DragEntity offers two main advantages: 1) Our method is more user-friendly for interaction because it allows users to drag entities within the image rather than individual pixels. 2) We use entity representation to represent any object in the image, and multiple objects can maintain relative spatial relationships. Therefore, we allow multiple trajectories to control multiple objects in the image with different levels of complexity simultaneously. Our experiments validate the effectiveness of DragEntity, demonstrating its excellent performance in fine-grained control in video generation. © 2024 ACM.

Tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) is a widely used technique for protein identification, post-translational modifications, immunotherapy, and other applications. As the amount of MS/MS spectra data increases, new computational methods are needed to efficiently search through these databases. This study introduces MS2VEC, a novel fingerprint embedding model designed to facilitate large-scale retrieval of peptide mass spectra. MS2VEC captures the relationships between distant peaks and incorporates position-aware fingerprint features from all peaks. To do this, dilated convolutions are used to capture remote relationships, and a novel position-aware multi-head attention pooling mechanism is used to abstract fingerprint features. The results demonstrate that MS2VEC achieves a top-1 retrieval accuracy of 0.810, outperforming existing methods by 5.1%. Interestingly, the precursor charge is not essential for the retrieval task, as the spectra itself contains enough information to accurately predict the charge. Additionally, the results suggest that weight-balanced fragment ions and water losses are important contributors to fingerprint features. © 2023 IEEE.

Inference acceleration of large language models (LLMs) has been put forward in many application scenarios and speculative decoding has shown its advantage in addressing inference acceleration. Speculative decoding usually introduces a draft model to assist the base LLM where the draft model produces drafts and the base LLM verifies the draft for acceptance or rejection. In this framework, the final inference speed is decided by the decoding speed of the draft model and the acceptance rate of the draft provided by the draft model. Currently the widely used draft models usually generate draft tokens for the next several positions in a non-autoregressive way without considering the correlations between draft tokens. Therefore, it has a high decoding speed but an unsatisfactory acceptance rate. In this paper, we focus on how to improve the performance of the draft model and aim to accelerate inference via a high acceptance rate. To this end, we propose a CTC-based draft model which strengthens the correlations between draft tokens during the draft phase, thereby generating higher-quality draft candidate sequences. Experiment results show that compared to strong baselines, the proposed method can achieve a higher acceptance rate and hence a faster inference speed. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. The task of retrieving and analyzing mass spectra is indispensable for the identification of compounds in mass spectrometry (MS). This methodology is of critical importance as it enables researchers to correlate observed spectra with established databases, thereby precisely determining the chemical composition of samples. The primary challenges to its efficacy lie in optimizing the balance between retrieval accuracy and processing speed. Empirical studies have demonstrated that by converting mass spectra into embeddings via deep learning, it is possible to achieve both high accuracy and speed in retrieval. Nevertheless, there are complex challenges associated with employing deep learning for spectral embedding, particularly within the domain of electron ionization mass spectrometry (EI-MS). In this paper, we introduce a novel representation learning technique termed EI-MS2VEC for EI-MS retrieval. Our spectrum retrieval methodology surpasses current state-of-the-art techniques such as FastEI. For the in-silico library, we attain hit rate@1 and hit rate@10 of 43.6% and 84.5%, respectively, compared to FastEI's 36.7% and 80.4%. Moreover, our retrieval approach operates with an order of magnitude greater speed than FastEI. The source code is available on Github (https://***/xfcui/EI-MS2VEC). © 2024 IEEE.

Mass spectrometry serves as a pivotal tool for the analysis of small molecules through an examination of their mass-to-charge ratios. Recent advancements in deep learning have markedly enhanced the analysis of mass spectrometric data, facilitating the prediction of novel small molecule structures without the necessity of extensive databases. Nonetheless, the paucity of annotated datasets impedes the efficacious training of molecular generation models predicated on MS2 spectra. To mitigate this limitation, we introduce ctMSNovelist, an avant-garde method that amalgamates pre-training, fine-tuning, and co-training techniques to construct a more precise model for the generation of molecular structures from tandem mass spectrometry data. This novel approach augments both the training regimen and the predictive accuracy of the MSNovelist model, thereby surmounting the obstacle of limited data. The methodology commences with the pretraining of a Variational Autoencoder (VAE) to generate molecular fingerprints derived from SMILES strings. Subsequently, it undergoes fine-tuning to emulate noisy fingerprints originating from mass spectrometry (MS) data. Concurrently, MSNovelist is co-trained utilizing these simulated fingerprints, inclusive of the highly noisy variants produced in the early stages of VAE training. The incorporation of a substantial volume of noisy data serves to enhance model accuracy and avert overfitting. We evaluated ctMSNovelist using the GNPS dataset and attained a SMILES prediction accuracy of 48.8%, representing a 4.1% enhancement over MSNovelist. It is pertinent to note that the sole distinction between ctMSNovelist and MSNovelist in this experiment was the training process. Text Sentiment Classification, a significant task in Natural Language processing, aims to comprehend user needs and expectations by categorizing the sentiments of texts posted on platforms. Despite their utility, existing models for this task do not fully account for the influence of contextual and syntactic text features on sentiment classification. To address these issues, a text sentiment classification model based on syntactic graph attention network is proposed in this study. The model begins by extracting the contextual features of a sentence using BiGRU. It then generates a syntactic graph through a syntactic analyzer, using the contextual features as the node features of the syntactic graph. A syntactic graph attention network is constructed to extract the syntactic features of the syntactic graph. These feature vectors are then input into a softmax function to achieve text sentiment classification. Experimental results indicate that the proposed model outperforms similar models on two public datasets in terms of classification accuracy, thus demonstrating its effectiveness. © 2024 ACM.

Recently, vision transformer based multimodal learning methods have been proposed to improve the robustness of face anti-spoofing (FAS) systems. However, multimodal face data collected from the real world is often imperfect due to missing modalities from various imaging sensors. Recently, flexible-modal FAS (Yu et al. 2023) has attracted more attention, which aims to develop a unified multimodal FAS model using complete multimodal face data but is insensitive to test-time missing modalities. In this paper, we tackle one main challenge in flexible-modal FAS, i.e., when missing modality occurs either during training or testing in real-world situations. Inspired by the recent success of the prompt learning in language models, we propose Visual Prompt flexible-modal FAS (VP-FAS), which learns the modal-relevant prompts to adapt the frozen pre-trained foundation model to downstream flexible-modal FAS task. Specifically, both vanilla visual prompts and residual contextual prompts are plugged into multimodal transformers to handle general missing-modality cases, while only requiring less than 4% learnable parameters compared to training the entire model. Furthermore, missing-modality regularization is proposed to force models to learn consistent multimodal feature embeddings when missing partial modalities. Extensive experiments conducted on two multimodal FAS benchmark datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our VP-FAS framework that improves the performance under various missing-modality cases while alleviating the requirement of heavy model re-training. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

Disaggregated memory (DM) is a widely discussed datacenter architecture in academia and industry. It decouples computing and memory resources from monolithic servers into two network-connected resource pools. Range indexes are widely adopted by storage systems on DM to efficiently locate and query remote data. However, existing range indexes on DM suffer from either high computing-side cache consumption or high memory-side read amplifications. In this paper, we propose CHIME, a hybrid index combining B+ trees with hopscotch hashing, to achieve low cache consumption and low read amplifications simultaneously. There are three challenges in constructing CHIME on DM, i.e., the complicated optimistic synchronization, the extra metadata access, and the read amplifications introduced by hopscotch hashing. CHIME leverages 1) a three-level optimistic synchronization scheme to synchronize read and write operations with various granularities, 2) an access-aggregated metadata management technique to eliminate extra metadata accesses by piggybacking and replicating metadata, and 3) an effective hotness-aware speculative read mechanism to mitigate the read amplifications of hopscotch hashing. Experimental results show that CHIME outperforms the state-of-the-art range indexes on DM by up to 5.1× with the same cache size and achieves similar performance with up to 8.7× lower cache consumption. © 2024 Copyright is held by the owner/author(s). Drug-target affinity (DTA) prediction is an important task in computer-aided drug design and drug repositioning, which can speed up drug development and reduce resource consumption. Researchers have explored some deep learning-based methods to improve DTA prediction in recent years, demonstrating the great potential of deep learning in DTA prediction. They have developed several molecular representation learning methods for drug compounds in deep learning-based DTA prediction methods. However, most of the existing deep learning-based DTA prediction models use one-hot encoding-based methods for protein representation learning, or use recursive neural network-based methods for learning feature representations from raw protein sequences. These may affect the ability of the DTA prediction model to learn the potential features of the protein, thus weakening the predictive power of the model. To tackle this problem, we developed a novel protein pre-training method (PTR) for protein representation learning, then proposed a DTA prediction framework, called Transformer-Graph drug-target affinity prediction (T-GraphDTA), based on PTR and hybrid graph neural network. The hybrid graph neural network is mainly responsible for molecular presentation learning of drugs. Extensive experiments were conducted on four benchmark datasets of drug-target binding affinity, comparing T-GraphDTA against state-of-the-art models. The experimental results show that T-GraphDTA achieves significantly better performance than state-of-the-art models on all four benchmark datasets. It indicates that T-GraphDTA is expected to be an excellent practical tool for predicting the affinity of drug-target pairs. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.
