In a real scenario, the image is often corrupted by complex degradation, and a lot of useful information is lost, which makes super-resolution (SR) reconstruction seriously ill-posed. To effectively solve such a problem, it is crucial to correctly exploit image prior knowledge. Although existing deep learning-based methods can obtain excellent results, they cannot deal with the complex degradation effectively, which would lead to the loss of texture details and the destruction of edge details. In this paper, an efficient multi-regularization method for SR is proposed, which can simultaneously exploit both internal and external image priors within a unified framework. The hybrid Tikhonov-TV prior and deep denoiser prior are introduced to constrain the reconstruction process. That is, the proposed model combines the superiority of the piecewise-smooth prior and deep prior. Moreover, an adaptive weight parameter is employed to make the hybrid component more detail-preserving. Experimental demonstrate that the proposed method achieves better performance in image detail protection than advanced methods.

Underwater images are often affected by problems such as light attenuation, color distortion, noise and scattering, resulting in image defects. A novel image inpainting method is proposed to intelligently predict and fill damaged areas for complete and continuous visualization of the image. First, in order to effectively solve the problem of color distortion caused by light refraction in underwater environments, the improved gated attention mechanism is used. This mechanism improves the local details by learning and weighting the important features of the image. Second, gated convolution automatically determines the degree of restoration for each pixel based on local features of the original image. It eliminates distractions such as low contrast and scattering, retaining more original detailed information. By doing so, image inpainting techniques improve the quality and visualization of underwater images.

This study proposes a cross-modal retrieval technique, which employs an Attention Embedded Variational AutoEncoder (AE-VAE) to tackle the problem of reduced retrieval accuracy resulting from data noise and data absence in cross-modal retrieval tasks. First, the variational auto-encoder(VAE) is used as an infrastructure to transform modal data into latent variables by encoding and decoding different modal features, thus preserving the semantic structure of the raw modal data and suppressing noise and missing information in the data. Secondly, to better capture the important semantic features of image and text modalities, an improved multi-attention module is introduced in the encoder. In addition, a cross-modal alignment module is designed to further align the latent variables of different modalities in the latent space to solve the confusion problem and improve the accuracy and robustness of cross-modal retrieval. Finally, experiments are conducted on four public datasets, CUB, SUN, AwA1 and AwA2, and the experimental results show that our proposed model is effective in improving the accuracy and robustness of retrieval.

To address the challenges associated with insufficiently extracting and utilizing features at different levels, overlooking the connection between label meanings and text, and facing problems of over-compression or information loss when extracting global information using recurrent neural networks in the field of multi-label text categorization, this paper introduces an innovative model known as MFFLEN (MultiFeature Fusion and label Embedding Neural network). First, a back-translated enhanced label set is constructed by back-translated splicing enhancement of the original label set. This set, together with the text, is then input into the embedding layer, which consists of the pre-trained model of bert-baseChinese, thus establishing the initial connection between the text and the labels within the same vector space. Then, to comprehensively extract multi-level semantic features, the model uses a convolutional layer to extract local features and an embedding layer to extract sentence-level features. A bidirectional attention embedded GRU (BAE-GRU) layer is used to extract hybrid finegrained features, which are then fed into the attention layer to further extract hybrid labeled features based on labeling information. Finally, these three different types of features are fused and multi-label text classification results are obtained using a classifier. The experiments proved that the MFFLEN model achieved 73.82% and 88.44% macro-F1 and 88.00% and 88.86% micro-F1 on the two datasets CAIL 2018 Small and CAIL 2018 Split, respectively, which is better than other baseline models.

Image-text retrieval refers to querying the text or image of another modality given an image or text, and its key lies in the ability to accurately measure the similarity between text and image. Most of the existing retrieval methods only utilize the intramodal relations of each modality or the intermodal relations of the two modalities to perform the retrieval task. To address the above problems, we integrate the intra-modal and inter-modal relations and propose a Semantic Relation-based Cross Attention network(SRCAN). In our proposed method, we first mine the possible intra-modal associations between regions in an image and between words in a text to obtain features with semantic relationships, and then capture the fine-grained associations between segments through the cross-attention mechanism. Finally, we balance the intra-modal and inter-modal relationships to improve the performance of the model. Our proposed method is experimentally validated on two datasets, Flickr30K and MS-COCO, and the experimental results show that our method achieves superior results.

Secure communication in consumer electronic devices, such as health monitoring systems, is essential as they process sensitive medical data. This paper proposes a Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Signcryption with Equality Test (CP-ABSC-ET) scheme to address these security challenges. The scheme controls who can access data and ensures both encryption and signature verification are done together, keeping the data secure. The integration of equality test enables secure ciphertext verification without decryption, ensuring both data integrity and confidentiality. Compared to existing schemes, the proposed approach reduces the computational overhead. Comprehensive security analysis and performance evaluations demonstrate the scheme’s suitability for dynamic and resource-constrained environments. The CP-ABSC-ET scheme ensures strong data protection, better access control, and efficient communication, making it ideal for consumer electronics like health monitoring devices. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

Machine learning is a key component of many applications, among which decentralized learning has attracted wide attention because of its cost-effectiveness and high efficiency. However, decentralized learning is vulnerable to various Byzantine attacks. Existing defense models face challenges in defending against complex attacks and are often constrained by strict network topologies. To address this issue, a parameter aggregation rule based on reputation evaluation (RPV) is proposed in this paper. This rule establishes a reputation model for neighboring nodes and continuously updates it based on their distance performance during each iteration. By applying the reputation model of neighboring nodes to the Beta distribution, their reliability is obtained. Based on the reliability of neighboring nodes, the set of reliable nodes for this iteration and select parameter values from them for aggregation are determined. Finally, we gradually eliminate the influence of Byzantine nodes. Our experimental results on the MNIST dataset demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is resilient to attacks from any number of Byzantine nodes and outperforms previous defense models in terms of network topology constraints, training accuracy, and computational costs.

Most Seq2Seq neural model-based medical question summarization (MQS) systems have a severe mismatch between training and inference, i.e., exposure bias. However, this problem remains unexplored in the MQS task. To bridge this research gap and alleviate the problem of exposure bias, we propose a novel re-ranking training framework for MQS called Multi-view Contrastive Learning (MvCL). MvCL simultaneously considers the similarity scores between medical questions and candidate summaries as well as the average similarity scores between candidate summaries and other candidates within the same group, and utilizes contrastive learning to optimize the model’s ranking ability. Additionally, we propose a new multilevel inference approach to adapt to this training strategy. The approach first filters out candidate summaries that are dissimilar to the original medical question, and then selects the summary with the highest average similarity to other candidate summaries from the remaining candidates as the final output. We conducted extensive experiments, and the results demonstrate that our proposed MvCL framework achieves state-of-the-art results on the majority of evaluation metrics across four datasets. 1

In many underwater application scenarios, recognition tasks need to be executed promptly on computationally limited platforms. However, models designed for this field often exhibit spatial locality, and existing works lack the ability to capture crucial details in images. Therefore, a lightweight and detail-aware vision network (LDVNet) for resource-constrained environments is proposed to overcome the limitations of these approaches. Firstly, in order to enhance the accuracy of target image recognition, we introduce transformer modules to acquire global information, thus addressing the issue of spatial locality inherent in traditional convolutional neural networks (CNNs). Secondly, to maintain the network’s lightweight nature, we integrate the transformer module with convolutional operations, thereby mitigating the substantial parameter and floating point operations (FLOPs) overhead. Thirdly, for the efficient extraction of crucial fine-grained details from feature maps, we have devised a channel and spatial attention module (C&SA). This module aids in recognizing intricate and fine-grained visual tasks and enhances image understanding. It is seamlessly integrated into LDVNet with nearly negligible parameter overhead. The experimental results demonstrate that LDVNet outperforms other lightweight networks and hybrid networks in different recognition tasks, while being suitable for resource-constrained environments.

Graph unlearning technology has become increasingly important since the advent of the 'right to be forgotten' and the growing concerns about the privacy and security of artificial intelligence. Graph unlearning aims to quickly eliminate the effects of specific data on graph neural networks (GNNs). However, most existing deterministic graph unlearning frameworks follow a balanced partition-submodel training-aggregation paradigm, resulting in a lack of structural information between subgraph neighborhoods and redundant unlearning parameter calculations. To address this issue, we propose a novel Graph Structure Mapping Unlearning paradigm (GSMU) and a novel method based on it named Community-centric Graph Eraser (CGE). CGE maps community subgraphs to nodes, thereby enabling the reconstruction of a node-level unlearning operation within a reduced mapped graph. CGE makes the exponential reduction of both the amount of training data and the number of unlearning parameters. Extensive experiments conducted on five real-world datasets and three widely used GNN backbones have verified the high performance and efficiency of our CGE method, highlighting its potential in the field of graph unlearning.
