Lung diseases such as pneumonia and tuberculosis present significant global health challenges, leading to millions of deaths annually. Chest X-ray imaging is crucial for diagnosing these conditions, but interpretation often relies on specialized radiologists, creating barriers in resource-limited areas. This study introduces a novel framework integrating topological data analysis (TDA), deep learning with ResNet-50, and contrastive learning to enhance the accuracy and computational efficiency of chest X-ray analysis. TDA captures global topological structures, while ResNet-50 extracts detailed local features. Contrastive learning then optimizes the feature space, enhancing the model's discriminative power and generalization capabilities. Comprehensive evaluations on multiple datasets demonstrate the framework's robustness and effectiveness, showing substantial improvements in diagnostic performance and computational efficiency. These findings suggest that the proposed approach is well-suited for real-time clinical applications, especially in resource-limited settings. Future work will focus on further optimizing the model and exploring its application to other medical imaging modalities, broadening its clinical utility. © 2024 IEEE.

Gastric cancer is a serious health threat, and pathological imaging is important in detecting it. These images can assist doctors in accurately determining the location of the cancer, thereby providing an important reference for clinical decision-making. In the field of image processing, deep learning technology is leading to more and more excellent segmentation models. The Trans-Unet model has achieved success in the image segmentation. However, when applying this model to gastric cancer pathological section data, the segmentation boundary appears jagged. We propose three possible solutions. First, we designed an attention connection module to replace the skip connections in the model to enhance the prediction accuracy of the model. Second, we designed a prediction processing unit that takes the model's prediction results as input and uses a Conditional Random Field (CRF) for further prediction calculations. To enable the model to meet the requirements of multi-classification of images, we designed a dynamic weight selection module to enhance the model's accuracy for multi-classification tasks. After our optimization, the optimized model improved by 8% on the DSC evaluation index and 39% on the HD evaluation index. In addition, the jagged boundary problem in the prediction results has also been effectively improved. Through comparative experiments and erosion experiments, we found that the improved method enhances the accuracy of model prediction and reduces the jagged results at the boundary. © 2024 IEEE.

We present the MEEG dataset, a multi-modal collection of music-induced electroencephalogram (EEG) recordings designed to capture emotional responses to various musical stimuli across different valence and arousal levels. This public dataset facilitates an in-depth examination of brainwave patterns within musical contexts, providing a robust foundation for studying brain network topology during emotional processing. Leveraging the MEEG dataset, we introduce the Attention-based Temporal Learner with Dynamic Graph Neural network (AT-DGNN), a novel framework for EEG-based emotion recognition. This model combines an attention mechanism with a dynamic graph neural network (DGNN) to capture intricate EEG dynamics. The AT-DGNN achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance with an accuracy of 83.74% in arousal recognition and 86.01% in valence recognition, outperforming existing SOTA methods. This study advances graph-based learning methodology in brain-computer interfaces (BCI), significantly improving the accuracy of EEG-based emotion recognition. Accurate short-term electric load forecasting is crucial for ensuring the stability and efficiency of the power grid. This study proposes an innovative dual-branch electric load forecasting model that enhances the accuracy of predictions by processing global and local features in parallel. Global features are extracted through the Savitzky-Golay filter and a linear model to capture the overall trends of the load data. Local features are identified using the Convolutional Self-Attention Module, which integrates the local perception capabilities of Convolutional neural network with the self-attention mechanism of Transformers. By employing a Weighted Feature Fusion network, we effectively integrate global and local information to enhance the performance of load forecasting. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed model significantly outperforms existing models in predictive performance. The model presented in this study offers a new perspective on electric load forecasting and has the potential to become an effective tool for power system planning and scheduling. © 2024 IEEE.

Over the past few years, "Pre-training + Fine-tuning"has been highly successful in Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks, but it has limitations in few-shot tasks and zero-shot tasks. Recently, "Prompt-based Tuning + Pretrained Language models (PLMs)"has achieved great success in few-shot stage and zero-shot stage, including few-shot text classification. Prompt-based tuning wraps suggestive characters and [MASK] tokens into a raw input sequence. Additionally, Prompt learning uses a verbalizer to map the semantic information of the [MASK] position to the final classification prediction. The verbalizer contains manual verbalizer and automatic verbalizer, etc. However, manual verbalizers are too dependent on human experience and external knowledge, while automatic verbalizers still face significant challenges. In this work, we introduce a novel approach for constructing a verbalizer termed as 'virtual class representation'. This method entails assigning a fixed-length sequence of digits to represent each label in the dataset. We train a small-scale randomly initialized embedding mechanism to achieve preliminary semantic information for each class when virtual class representation is introduced into the embedding mechanism. The semantic information of each category is then further extracted by a convolution operation, and the final model regression value is obtained by calculating the similarity between the last hidden state of PLM and the semantic vector of the class. Our extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method on few-shot text classification tasks. © 2023 IEEE.

With the development of the digital economy and the advent of the big data era, the rapid growth of textual information in cyberspace has placed higher demands on information processing technology. This paper proposes an information extraction technique based on the Text-to-Text Transfer Transformer, known as T5, and keyBERT models, aiming to efficiently distill the key content from textual information in cyberspace. This method combines automatic summarization and keyword extraction to form information briefs. The experiments selected representative policy documents related to data elements as input data and employed information entropy and ROUGE scores as metrics to evaluate the automatic summarization model. The results were compared with the outputs of similar models. Experimental results indicate that the T5 model outperforms other models in terms of summarization effectiveness, and the proposed information extraction method shows significant advantages in readability and processing efficiency, demonstrating practical application value. © 2024 IEEE.

Federated learning (FL) is a distributed learning method that reduces data transmission and privacy risks. However, the existence of a central server may become a target of attackers, resulting in an increased risk of user privacy leakage. The emergence of Decentralized Federated Learning (DFL) is posited to enhance data privacy and system reliability by reducing reliance on central servers and enhancing local data control, especially in the medical field, where personal health data is protected. This research investigates the application of (DFL) in the medical domain, focusing on its limitations. This study employs a systematic literature review, adhering to PRISMA guidelines, to comprehensively understand DFL's current landscape and challenges in healthcare. The key findings highlight four principal obstacles faced by DFL: security and privacy, communication efficiency, data and model heterogeneity, and incentive mechanisms. It also explores the potential for DFL to facilitate personalized healthcare treatments by large datasets distributed across various medical institutions. This research fills a significant void by systematically reviewing DFL technologies in healthcare. It provides insights into applications, challenges, and future directions for participants seeking secure and efficient healthcare data handling. © 2024 IEEE.

Legal judgment prediction is one of essential tasks in legal practice. However, most existing models of legal judgment prediction struggle with long documents due to limitations in position encoding and pre-trained language models' capabilities. To address these issues, we propose a hybrid model for legal judgment prediction. The model uses BERT to captures deep semantic information of a legal text, position encoding to preserve its text structure, a graph convolutional network to analyse complex relationships between the entities in the text, and a decoupled attention mechanism to fuse the textual content and positional information. Our experiments show that the proposed model excels in legal judgment prediction tasks, outperforming existing technologies in accuracy and recall, with significant advantages in handling lengthy legal texts. © 2024 IEEE.
