In this paper, we present a new construction of maximal distance separable (MDS) array codes with three parity columns. We present an efficient encoding algorithm for our new codes and show that our new codes have lower encoding complexity than all the existing MDS codes under the same parameters. The essential reasons of obtaining lower encoding complexity for our codes are of two-folds: (i) our codes are well-designed in a cyclic polynomial ring with only cyclic shifts and XORs being involved in the operations; (ii) our codes are designed based on the efficient schedule algorithm that can minimize the number of operations in the coding procedure. Moreover, our codes can support much more parameters compared with the existing MDS array codes, such as the EVENODD codes and STAR codes. We also present an efficient decoding method for the proposed codes.

Fuzzing is an effective technique to find security bugs in programs by quickly exploring the input space of *** further discover vulnerabilities hidden in deep execution paths,the hybrid fuzzing combines fuzzing and concolic execution for going through complex branch *** general,we observe that the execution path which comes across more and complex basic blocks may have a higher chance of containing a security *** on this observation,we propose a hybrid fuzzing method assisted by static analysis for binary *** basic idea of our method is to prioritize seed inputs according to the complexity of their associated execution *** this purpose,we utilize static analysis to evaluate the complexity of each basic block and employ the hardware trace mechanism to dynamically extract the execution path for calculating the seed inputs’*** key advantage of our method is that our system can test binary programs efficiently by using the hardware trace and hybrid *** evaluate the effectiveness of our method,we design and implement a prototype system,namely *** evaluation results show SHFuzz discovers more unique crashes on several real-world applications and the LAVA-M dataset when compared to the previous solutions.

As an emerging distributed technology, Federated learning enables model training while protecting privacy without sharing local data. However, the heterogeneity of geographic locations and devices leads to response delays from stragglers. Client grouping in federated learning can tolerate stragglers from a global perspective, but differences in data distribution within groups may result in local performance bias. To address this issue, we propose a federated learning method called FedSimRep, which selects representative clients based on data distribution similarity. FedSimRep performs group training by collecting readiness signals from topological communications and maintains synchronization tables and graphs to track training progress. Additionally, it selects representative clients by leveraging the relationship between local optimization similarity and data distribution similarity to optimize the global model. Experiments and theoretical analyses on public datasets such as MNIST, CIFAR-10, and UEU-Fed demonstrate that FedSimRep achieves significant advantages in terms of accuracy and efficiency.

This study introduces a novel Supervised Info-enhanced Contrastive Learning framework for EEG based Emotion Recognition (SI-CLEER). SI-CLEER employs multi-granularity contrastive learning to create robust EEG contextual representations, potentially improving emotion recognition effectiveness. Unlike existing methods solely guided by classification loss, we propose a joint learning model combining self-supervised contrastive learning loss and supervised classification loss. This model optimizes both loss functions, capturing subtle EEG signal differences specific to emotion detection. Extensive experiments demonstrate SI-CLEER's robustness and superior accuracy on the SEED dataset compared to state-of-the-art methods. Furthermore, we analyze electrode performance, highlighting the significance of central frontal and temporal brain region EEGs in emotion detection. This study offers an universally applicable approach with potential benefits for diverse EEG classification tasks. © 2024, CC0.

In the field of industrial production, anomaly detection is crucial for ensuring product quality and maintaining production efficiency. With the continuous advancement of computer vision technology, it has shown tremendous potential in industrial applications. However, the scarcity of labeled anomaly samples in real-world operating environments poses significant challenges for traditional anomaly detection techniques. To address this, we propose MemADet, a novel anomaly detection model that employs an unsupervised approach and leverages a representative memory bank. It employs a dynamic decision mechanism to control the representativeness of the features stored in the memory bank, and employs a weighted anomaly score calculation mechanism to further enhance the performance of image anomaly detection. Our evaluations indicate that MemADet performs robustly in industrial image anomaly detection across three datasets, with particularly no-table detection accuracy on the MVTec AD dataset. Its efficacy is further validated by competitive results on two additional datasets, highlighting its consistent and effective performance in various settings.

This paper explores the fairness of large music models in generating culturally diverse musical compositions, emphasizing the need for inclusivity and equity in AI-generated music. By analyzing popular datasets such as the Million Song Dataset and the Lakh MIDI Dataset, we identify a significant underrepresentation of non-Western musical elements. To address this, we adapt existing models to incorporate non-Western scales, rhythms, and instruments. The adapted models demonstrate a substantial improvement in generating culturally diverse music. Using AI-based synthetic listeners, we evaluate the impact of these adaptations on listener perception and engagement. Results indicate that music from the adapted models scores higher in terms of enjoyment, novelty, cultural resonance, and overall engagement compared to the original models. Our findings highlight the importance of cultural diversity in enhancing the user experience and ensuring ethical AI practices. The study also discusses challenges, such as dataset limitations and model adaptation complexity, and suggests directions for future research to further promote fairness and inclusivity in music AI. This work contributes to the development of more culturally aware and representative music generation systems, aiming to enrich the global musical landscape and foster greater appreciation of diverse musical traditions.

Sequential recommendation has been developed to predict the next item in which users are most interested by capturing user behavior patterns embedded in their historical interaction sequences. However, most existing methods appear to exhibit limitations in modeling fine-grained dependencies embedded in users’ various periodic behavior patterns and heterogeneous dependencies across multi-behaviors. Towards this end, we propose a Filter-enhanced Hypergraph Transformer framework for Multi-Behavior Sequential Recommendation (FHT-MB) to address the above challenges. Specifically, a multi-scale filter layer equipped with multi-learnable filters is devised to encode behavior-aware sequential patterns emerging from different periodic trends (e.g., daily or weekly routines), and then a hypergraph structure is devised to extract heterogeneous dependencies across users’ multiple types of behaviors. Extensive experiments on two real-world e-commerce datasets show the superiority of our proposed FHT-MB over various state-of-the-art methods. 1

Query embedding (QE) is designed to embed entities and first-order logic (FOL) queries in low-dimensional spaces, it has demonstrated considerable effectiveness in multi-hop reasoning over knowledge graphs. Recently, the practice of embedding entities and queries using geometric shapes has emerged as a promising approach, given the natural ability of these shapes to represent query answer sets and the logical relationships between them. However, existing geometry-based models, such as those employing point and box embeddings, cannot handle logical negation operations. Additionally, these models typically focus only on entities and relations, overlooking the rich semantic information available in knowledge graphs. To address these limitations, we propose the Type-aware Enhanced Cylinder Embedding (TECE) model. This model leverages three-dimensional geometric representations, integrating entity relationship type information. TECE covers a spectrum of essential First-Order Logic (FOL) operations, such as conjunctive, disjunctive, and negative. TECE improves the representation of entities and relationships in queries by incorporating semantic information. Moreover, it strengthens the model’s ability in generalization, along with deductive and inductive reasoning. Our experiment results demonstrate that TECE achieves significantly superior performance compared with existing SOTA methods on standard datasets.

Few-shot class-incremental learning (FSCIL) aims to continually learn new classes using a few samples while not forgetting the old classes. The key of this task is effective knowledge transfer from the base session to the incremental sessions. Despite the advance of existing FSCIL methods, the proposed knowledge transfer learning schemes are sub-optimal due to the insufficient optimization for the model’s plasticity. To address this issue, we propose a Random Episode Sampling and Augmentation (RESA) strategy that relies on diverse pseudo incremental tasks as agents to achieve the knowledge transfer. Concretely, RESA mimics the real incremental setting and constructs pseudo incremental tasks globally and locally, where the global pseudo incremental tasks are designed to coincide with the learning objective of FSCIL and the local pseudo incremental tasks are designed to improve the model’s plasticity, respectively. Furthermore, to make convincing incremental predictions, we introduce a complementary model with a squared Euclidean-distance classifier as the auxiliary module, which couples with the widely used cosine classifier to form our whole architecture. By such a way, equipped with model decoupling strategy, we can maintain the model’s stability while enhancing the model’s plasticity. Extensive quantitative and qualitative experiments on three popular FSCIL benchmark datasets demonstrate that our proposed method, named Knowledge Transfer-driven Relation Complementation network (KT-RCNet), outperforms almost all prior methods. More precisely, the average accuracy of our proposed KT-RCNet outperforms the second-best method by a margin of 5.26%, 3.49%, and 2.25% on miniImageNet, CIFAR100, and CUB200, respectively. With the development of the digital economy and the advent of the big data era, the rapid growth of textual information in cyberspace has placed higher demands on information processing technology. This paper proposes an information extraction technique based on the Text-to-Text Transfer Transformer, known as T5, and keyBERT models, aiming to efficiently distill the key content from textual information in cyberspace. This method combines automatic summarization and keyword extraction to form information briefs. The experiments selected representative policy documents related to data elements as input data and employed information entropy and ROUGE scores as metrics to evaluate the automatic summarization model. The results were compared with the outputs of similar models. Experimental results indicate that the T5 model outperforms other models in terms of summarization effectiveness, and the proposed information extraction method shows significant advantages in readability and processing efficiency, demonstrating practical application value.
