Fourier ptychographic microscopy technique combines the concept of phase retrieval algorithm and synthetic aperture, which can solve the problem that large field of view and high resolution cannot coexist. However, describing the linear transfer process of the imaging system by coherent transfer function in conventional calculations leads to ringing artifacts. Gaussian apodization coherent transfer function constraints is proposed and embedded into the software platform, and a high-resolution Fourier ptychographic microscopy imaging system is constructed together with the designed hardware. The proposed algorithm can reduce the ringing artifacts and ensure the accuracy and resolution of the reconstructed results by simulating experiments and acquiring real images. © 2023 SPIE.

A compact, wideband circularly polarized (CP) patch antenna based on the metasurface (MS) is presented. The antenna composed of a truncated corner square patch with four L-shaped axial ratio (AR) tuning stubs is sandwiched between the metasurface (MS) and the ground plane. The MS is composed of a lattice of 4 × 4 periodic metal plates. When surface waves on the MS are stimulated within the antenna structure, it will broaden the impedance bandwidth and AR bandwidth of the antenna. The proposed antenna adopts a stacked layout with an overall size of 40mm × 40mm × 4.5mm (0.71λ 0 × 0.71λ 0 × 0.08λ 0 , at 5.3 GHz). The simulation results show a |S 11 | < -10 dB bandwidth of 4.24-6.38 GHz (40.3%) and 3 dB AR bandwidth of 4.42-5.45 GHz (20.9%). Additionally, it achieves a peak gain of 8.67 dBi.

Alignment-free RGB-Thermal (RGB-T) salient object detection (SOD) aims to achieve robust performance in complex scenes by directly leveraging the complementary information from unaligned visible-thermal image pairs, without requiring manual alignment. However, the labor-intensive process of collecting and annotating image pairs limits the scale of existing benchmarks, hindering the advancement of alignment-free RGB-T SOD. In this paper, we construct a large-scale and high-diversity unaligned RGB-T SOD dataset named UVT20K, comprising 20,000 image pairs, 407 scenes, and 1256 object categories. All samples are collected from real-world scenarios with various challenges, such as low illumination, image clutter, complex salient objects, and so on. To support the exploration for further research, each sample in UVT20K is annotated with a comprehensive set of ground truths, including saliency masks, scribbles, boundaries, and challenge attributes. In addition, we propose a Progressive Correlation Network (PCNet), which models inter- and intra-modal correlations on the basis of explicit alignment to achieve accurate predictions in unaligned image pairs. Extensive experiments conducted on two unaligned three weakly aligned three aligned datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our method. This paper proposes a metasurface-based left-handed circularly polarized (CP) sequential rotating metasurface-based (MTS) antenna array for C-band. The array comprises a cluster of 4 × 4 periodically aligned MTS cells, which exhibit excellent performance at a low profile of 0.08 λ 0 . The antenna array is constructed on a Rogers RO4003 dielectric board in two layers. The upper surface of the upper layer is the MTS, the floor has a gap between the upper and lower layers, and the lower surface of the lower layer is the sequential feed network. The simulation conducted in HFSS software yielded an integrated bandwidth (IBW) of 95% (3.79-8.54 GHz) and an antenna radiation bandwidth (ARBW) of 49.8% (3.77-6.26 GHz), respectively. The dimensions of the antenna are 1.33λ 0 × 1.33λ 0 × 0.08λ 0 . This configuration results in a miniaturized, compact, and low-profile antenna array. This antenna configuration is applicable to satellite communications using circularly polarized waves through MTS units.

In this paper, a SIR-coupled dual-band bandpass filter is proposed, which has lower insertion loss, better out-of-band rejection. The bandpass characteristics of the dual-band are obtained by bending the SIR and coupling it, and loading the shaped branches. By changing the shape of the shaped branches, a transmission pole is added in the first passband, which reduces the insertion loss of the filter and improves the rejection effect of the stopband. The simulation results show that the dual-frequency bandpass filter has a center frequency of 6.26GHz, an insertion loss of 0.17dB, a return loss of less than -27.8dB, and a relative bandwidth of 15.5% for the low band, and an insertion loss of 0.67dB, a return loss of less than -15.8dB, and a relative bandwidth of 11.6% for the high band, at a center frequency of 9.26GHz.

Since the marine diesel engine is one of the most popular power equipments for modern shipping, accurate and timely diagnose the faults occurred in diesel engine is extraordinary important for long service life and high reliability. Note that Fisher discriminant analysis (FDA) has been widely applied in fault diagnosis field. However, it is quite susceptible to the small sample size (SSS) problem, which is very common in the running process of diesel engine. In response to the problem, this study pro-poses a new fault classification criterion based exponential discriminant analysis (EDA) scheme for diesel engine fault diagnosis, in which the exponential transformation is carried out first to enlarge the margin between different classes, thus the different fault classes are further separated and the diagnosis capability is enhanced. In addition, the theorems of matrix exponential guarantee that the matrix exp (Sw) is always full-rank, even though the Sw is singular. That means, the novel methodology is still appli-cable when confronts with the SSS problem. Finally, based on the more reasonable fault classification criterion, the simulation results on a real-world two-stroke six-cylinder low-speed marine diesel engine indicate that the EDA based diagnosis scheme achieves higher fault diagnosis accuracy with good robustness and practicability in real-world engineering applications. © 2022 IEEE.

A 38×38×4mm3 wideband circularly polarized (CP) antenna with Hybrid Metasurface (MTS) for wearable devices is proposed. The proposed antenna achieves CP radiation by cutting corners on a square microstrip patch. A hybrid MTS is placed above a square patch with cut corners, achieving broadband radiation performance. The working mechanism of hybrid MTS is analyzed by characteristic mode analysis (CMA). The simulated -10dB bandwidth is 40.1% (4.61-6.82 GHz) and the 3dB axial ratio bandwidth is 25.2% (5.16-6.55 GHz) with a peak gain of 8.1 dBi. In addition, the antenna has a front-to-back ratio of approximately 20 dB, which makes it suitable for wearable applications.

A binary linear code is called asymptotic frame error rate (AFER)-optimal if it achieves the maximum possible value of the minimum distance while having the smallest value of the corresponding error coefficient. Over the additive white Gaussian noise channel and under maximum-likelihood decoding, AFER-optimal codes attain the best possible asymptotic frame error rate at high signal-to-noise ratio. In this paper, we present several bounds on the smallest error coefficients of binary linear codes and give several constructions of AFER-optimal binary linear codes. Many examples confirm that our bounds are sharp on numerous occasions. In addition, we give two families of AFER-optimal codes that respectively attain the proposed bounds with equality. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

A wideband GCPW-SIW fed slots antenna in millimeter wave band is designed in this paper. The structure is composed of four inclined slots which are placed on the one side of the SIW with three shorting vias and fed by GCPW transmission line. The simulated results show that the operating frequency band of the proposed antenna is 24.15-27.59GHz (13.23%), the antenna has a stable gain with a maximum value of 9.67dBi and high radiation efficiency.

Microphone array techniques are widely used in sound source localization and smart city acoustic-based traffic monitoring, but these applications face significant challenges due to the scarcity of labeled real-world traffic audio data and the complexity and diversity of application scenarios. The DCASE Challenge's Task 10 focuses on using multi-channel audio signals to count vehicles (cars or commercial vehicles) and identify their directions (left-to-right or vice versa). In this paper, we propose a graph-enhanced dual-stream feature fusion network (GEDF-Net) for acoustic traffic monitoring, which simultaneously considers vehicle type and direction to improve detection. We propose a graph-enhanced dual-stream feature fusion strategy which consists of a vehicle type feature extraction (VTFE) branch, a vehicle direction feature extraction (VDFE) branch, and a frame-level feature fusion module to combine the type and direction feature for enhanced performance. A pre-trained model (PANNs) is used in the VTFE branch to mitigate data scarcity and enhance the type features, followed by a graph attention mechanism to exploit temporal relationships and highlight important audio events within these features. The frame-level fusion of direction and type features enables fine-grained feature representation, resulting in better detection performance. Experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method. GEDF-Net is our submission that achieved 1st place in the DCASE 2024 Challenge Task 10. © 2025 IEEE.
