BlockDance: Reuse Structurally Similar Spatio-Temporal Features to Accelerate Diffusion Transformers

Diffusion models have demonstrated impressive generation capabilities, particularly with recent advancements leveraging transformer architectures to improve both visual and artistic quality. However, Diffusion Transformers (DiTs) continue to encounter challenges related to low inference speed, primarily due to the iterative denoising process. To address this issue, we propose BlockDance, a training-free approach that explores feature similarities at adjacent time steps to accelerate DiTs. Unlike previous feature-reuse methods that lack tailored reuse strategies for features at different scales, BlockDance prioritizes the identification of the most structurally similar features, referred to as Structurally Similar Spatio-Temporal (STSS) features. These features are primarily located within the structure-focused blocks of the transformer during the later stages of denoising. BlockDance caches and reuses these highly similar features to mitigate redundant computation, thereby accelerating DiTs while maximizing consistency with the generated results of the original model. Furthermore, considering the diversity of generated content and the varying distributions of redundant features, we introduce BlockDance-Ada, a lightweight decision-making network tailored for instance-specific acceleration. BlockDance-Ada dynamically allocates resources and provides superior content quality. Both BlockDance and BlockDance-Ada have proven effective across various generation tasks and models, achieving accelerations between 25% and 50% while maintaining generation quality. This paper presents a novel category agnostic model for visual rearrangement task, which can help an embodied agent to physically recover the shuffled scene configuration without any category concepts to the goal configuration. Previous methods usually follow a similar architecture, completing the rearrangement task by aligning the scene changes of the goal and shuffled configuration, according to the semantic scene graphs. However, constructing scene graphs requires the inference of category labels, which not only causes the accuracy drop of the entire task but also limits the application in real world scenario. In this paper, we delve deep into the essence of visual re-arrangement task and focus on the two most essential issues, scene change detection and scene change matching. We utilize the movement and the protrusion of point cloud to accurately identify the scene changes and match these changes depending on the similarity of category agnostic appearance feature. Moreover, to assist the agent to explore the environment more efficiently and comprehensively, we propose a closer-aligned-retrace exploration policy, aiming to observe more details of the scene at a closer distance. We conduct extensive experiments onAI2THOR Rearrangement Challenge based on RoomR dataset and a new multi-room multi-instance dataset MrMiR collected by us. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method.

A constrained squared sine derived adaptive (CSSDA) algorithm is proposed in this paper, which provides better steady-state behavior than existing algorithms in impulsive-noise environments. The devised CSSDA is constructed via constructing a constrained cost function on the basis of squared sine functioned system estimate error. Theoretical analysis of the CSSDA is presented and compared with the simulations. The simulation results show that the theoretical analysis agrees well with simulations, helping to verify the effectiveness and correctness of the analysises. Also, the performance of the CSSDA is superior to the recent popular constraint adaptive algorithms for system identifications in a variety of environments with non-Gaussian impulsive-noises. © 2022, The Authors. In this paper, Q-value theory of conventional antennas is used to analyze reasons of low radiation performance of acoustics promoted antennas, where we modify the radiating structure of existing acoustics promoting antenna using the simulations to get the required improvement on radiation performance. The simulation experiments are carried out in the finite element simulation software Comsol Multiphysics to analyze the radiating performance. © 2023 IEEE.

Two sparse adaptive filtering (AF) algorithms based on Andrew's sine estimator (ASE) are presented to achieve improved performance for identifying sparse systems, where the ASE is derived within the least-square framework. Furthermore, zero-attracting (ZA) scheme is used in ASE to construct ZA-ASE and its re-weighting form (RZA-ASE) to combat non-Gaussian noises and use the sparse characteristics of the system. Their performance is investigated via simulations and compared with the least-mean square (LMS) and the maximum correntropy criterion (MCC) algorithms to show their superior performance. © 2022 IEEE.

Recently, the development of LiDAR in the field of vehicle has made the core micromirror with essential characteristics of large tilted angle and small size. We proposed a two-dimensional electrostatically actuated MEMS micromirror with a slender torsion bar. With the modified theoretical formula, two different torsional modes and corresponding torsional frequencies of the micromirror are obtained, which are then compared to the results by finite element simulation, and revealed a good agreement. The rotation angle of the micromirror is improved through optimizing the micromirror structure. Meanwhile, it is found that the driving voltage and the moment of inertia introduce the softening behavior of the spring, which will then affect the torsion frequency. To prevent the torsion bar stress is too large, with the sinusoidal driving voltage of 75V and 100V, the corresponding mechanical rotation angles are 14.8° and 15.3° at a driving frequency of 340.5Hz and 1500Hz, respectively. © 2022 IEEE.

SwinNet: Swin Transformer Drives Edge-Aware RGB-D and RGB-T Salient Object Detection

Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are good at extracting contexture features within certain receptive fields, while transformers can model the global long-range dependency features. By absorbing the advantage of transformer and the merit of CNN, Swin Transformer shows strong feature representation ability. Based on it, we propose a cross-modality fusion model, SwinNet, for RGB-D and RGB-T salient object detection. It is driven by Swin Transformer to extract the hierarchical features, boosted by attention mechanism to bridge the gap between two modalities, and guided by edge information to sharp the contour of salient object. To be specific, two-stream Swin Transformer encoder first extracts multi-modality features, and then spatial alignment and channel re-calibration module is presented to optimize intra-level cross-modality features. To clarify the fuzzy boundary, edge-guided decoder achieves inter-level cross-modality fusion under the guidance of edge features. In this work, a Gong-Si-shaped circularly polarized (CP) array with power driver for 5G is proposed. The radiator of the constructed CP array consists of two Chinese-like characters ' and '' with the similar size and pronunciation of 'gong' and 'si', Two L-shaped feeding probes of the same size are connected to the designed power driver printed on the bottom layer of ground plate, and the array can radiate circular polarization electromagnetic waves by changing the positions of the L-shaped probes and the angle of the horizontal parts of the L-shaped probes. From the simulating and optimizing, it is finally obtained that the -15 dB bandwidth of modeled Gong-Si-like CP antenna lies in 2.49 - 2.81 GHz and the presented Gong-Si-like CP antenna has a axial bandwidth covering 2.36 - 2.82 GHz, which meets the n41 5G band implementing at 2.515 - 2.675 GHz. © 2022 IEEE.

Knowledge tracing (KT) is a crucial task in online learning, aimed at tracing and predicting each student's knowledge states throughout their learning process. Over the past decade, it has garnered widespread attention due to it provides the potential for more tailored and adaptive online learning experiences. Although most current KT methodologies emphasize optimizing network structures to enhance predictive accuracy for future student performance, they often neglect anomalous interactions in students' learning processes, which may arise from low data quality (i.e., inferior question quality) and abnormal student behaviors (i.e., guessing and mistakes). To this end, in this paper, we propose a novel framework, termed HD-KT, designed to enhance the robustness of existing KT methodologies with Hybrid learning interactions Denoising approach. Specifically, we introduce two detectors for anomalous learning interactions, namely knowledge state-guided anomaly detector and student profile-guided anomaly detector. In the first detection module, we design a sequential autoencoder to identify anomalous learning interactions by detecting atypical student knowledge states. In the second module, we incorporate an attention mechanism by modeling a student's long-term profile to capture irregular interactions. Extensive experiments on four real-world benchmark datasets have decisively shown our HD-KT markedly boosts the robustness of numerous prevailing KT models, consequently increasing the accuracy of future student performance predictions. Additionally, our case studies highlight the versatility of HD-KT in addressing diverse downstream tasks, such as exercise quality analysis and learning behavior-based student clustering. © 2024 ACM.
