Wind power ultra-short-term prediction plays a key role in day scheduling of power systems and cross-provincial power trading. However, the randomness and non-stationary nature of wind power, and the mismatch between the training data and the predicted data have become the main obstacles for the improvement of prediction accuracy. This paper proposes a prediction algorithm based on variational mode decomposition(VMD) and clustering. Firstly, the original non-stationary sequence is transformed into several relatively stationary modes utilizing VMD. Secondly, key features can be conveniently selected for each mode, which has a central frequency. Then the k-means clustering method is used to cluster each mode into several typical patterns based on correlation coefficient based distance definition. Finally, the method of "offline training, online matching" is adopted to perform training and prediction process. The actual data of a wind farm in Jilin Province was used to verify the results. The results show that the proposed method can improve the accuracy of ultra-short-term in multi-step prediction of wind power.

Automatic discovery method of power system critical flowgates considering multiple security themes in power grid

Based on summarizing the features of selecting critical flowgates in actual power grid, an automatic discovery method of power system critical flowgates considering multiple security themes in power grid is proposed. Based on topological structure of power grid and online power flow, the electric partitioning of power grid is performed and different types of critical flowgates are selected according to different security theme: according to the demand on transient security theme the long-distance transmission channel composed by tie line between electric partitionings is chosen as critical flowgate;according to the demand on thermal stability theme, the transmission channel composed of high voltage transmission lines with high transmission capacity, which interact each other obviously, is chosen as critical flowgate;according to the thermal stability at load side the transmission channel composed of low voltage transmission lines with higher transmission capacity, which interact each other obviously, is chosen as critical flowgate. Taking Guangdong power Grid in China as testing example, test results show that the proposed method considers common security themes in power grid accurately and different kinds of critical flowgates can be attained;the obtained critical flowgates not only conform to a posteriori critical flowgate given by experts in the field of power grid operation, and new critical flowgates can be discovered, besides, the discovery results are reasonable and creditable.

Satellite cloud image data plays an important role in the ultra-short-term photovoltaic（PV） power forecasting. By calculating the cloud displacement vectors of two adjacent cloud images, it is possible to calculate the cloud cluster’s occlusion of the PV power plant for a period of time in the future, thereby forecasting the PV power. The satellite cloud image data provided by FY-4 A Satellite has large and unequal sampling time intervals, which brings difficulties to cloud displacement vector calculation. This paper proposes a method for calculating the displacement vector of the cloud edge block based on the cosine similarity and the adaptive adjustment of the matching spatial scale. The parameter equation is used to establish the relationship between the relative position of the cloud cluster and the PV plant over time, and to predict the future position. On this basis, this paper proposes an ultra-short-term forecasting method of PV power based on cloud displacement vector. The performance of the proposed model is verified through case analysis.

The construction of a new power system with new energy as the mainstay is conducive to accelerating the green transformation of the economy and society and high-quality development. However, in the new power system, the new load spiking characteristics are obvious, and the increase in peak-to-valley difference on the load side will cause a greater impact on the traditional power system. To achieve the goal of building a new power system with new energy as the mainstay, the demand response potential of users needs to be fully explored, and to a certain extent, the demand side will be prompted to provide equivalent regulation resources to the power side, which is of great significance to alleviate the tension between power supply and demand and promote the consumption of renewable energy. Therefore, this paper develops a multi-stage optimization model for new power system based on data mining algorithms. The model is based on a cluster mining method to extract the typical electricity consumption behaviour characteristics of users. Then the demand response potential of multi-cluster customers is analysed and the demand response characteristics of multi-cluster customers are studied. Finally, a multi-stage demand response optimization model under the new power system is established. © 2022 IEEE.

In order to study the effect of AC aging on space charge characteristics of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) films, an AC electric field of 50 kV/mm (peak value) was adopted for the accelerated aging test and space charge measurements of AC aged LDPE films were carried out subsequently. The results show that no significant space charge accumulation in the LDPE samples aged under a 50 kV/mm AC electric field. It can be seen that a significant positive space charge accumulation occurs inside the sample, when DC electric fields were applied to the AC aged LDPE samples. The long-term AC aging also causes more and deeper cracks on the surface of LDPE samples. Moreover, AC aging promotes the oxidation reaction of LDPE. The longer the aging time, the higher the degree of oxidation. On this basis, the probable relationship between space charge characteristics and material physicochemical properties of LDPE during AC electrical aging is clarified. © 2018 IEEE.

As a new kind of lightning protection, parallel gaps have simple structure, easy installation, good economy, and many other advantages. The traditional parallel gap due to the large short distance, can lead to lightning trip-out rate increases. Based on arc movement characteristics this paper presents a design of new type of parallel gaps and the analysis of the surface field strength, and the verification test, design a new kind of parallel gap are obtained.

Parallel gaps,as a new mode of "channel" type lightning protection,can do it with the sub insulator arc distance to effectively protect the insulator,but the corresponding line tripping rate will be affected because of this;Development method based on the leader in this paper the calculation method of the lightning path,the typical used tower of guangzhou trip rate change after the application of parallel gap situation has carried on the analysis,got a short distance and adopt reasonable reinforced insulation,the trip rates did not rise significantly.

Cleanliness of energy system requires both NO x reduction due to urgent air pollution control and CO 2 cutting due to long-term climate change pressure. In the urban heating sector, quick-win plans use to be popular that focus on the NO x reduction by replacing untreated scattered coal fired boilers to natural gas or combined heat and power generators (CHPs). Meanwhile, in the electrical sector, all these fossil fuel generators should be cut down in the long-term decarbonization process. There should be a need for coordination of short- and long-term targets, because two energy supply sectors are believed to work in a coupled way in the future. A three-layered collaborative planning model is proposed in this paper: the top layer focuses roadmap economic evaluation; the middle layer applies coupled production simulation aiming at verifying energy balance; and the bottom one checks real-time operational feasibility. Pathways are made from 2020 to 2040 based on Hebei, China. Results indicate that the pathway with quick win will have delayed construction of renewable power, resulting the slow process in emission control. The long-term strategy scheme greatly promotes the renewables for supply in both sectors, but the close operational link forces the decoupling, leading to rebound on emission and operation cost on decentralized heating for the long-term future. In conclusion, the tradeoff pathway, reducing CO 2 emission as much as possible with NO x emission controlled to acceptable level, is recommended with good performance on emission control and economy.

With the continuous advancement of the 'dual carbon' goal, problems such as the peak-to-valley fluctuation characteristics of the power system load and the frequent overloading of lines are gradually becoming more prominent. At the distribution network level, too low line utilization will lead to idle assets, and too high line transmission capacity will lead to heavy overload and make it impossible for distributed power output to be connected to the grid. Aiming at the above problems, this article proposes an optimized configuration model of distributed energy storage system considering factors such as power flow, energy storage operation, life loss, and utilization of distribution network equipment. This model considers the constraints of distribution network power flow constraints, energy storage operation, and equipment utilization constraints. Minimizing the total energy storage system investment is the optimization goal. A mixed-integer second-order cone programming model using the second-order cone relaxation technique, so as to solve the optimal configuration and operation strategy of the distributed energy storage system. The case analysis shows that the optimal allocation of distributed energy storage considering multiple factors such as line utilization efficiency can ameliorate the line utilization efficiency, grid load peak-to-valley difference and the overall utilization rate of distribution network assets. © 2022 IEEE.
