Aimed at power system large-scale blackouts, the paper firstly analyzes the existing problems of current protective relaying and emergency control in power grid. A novel system protection based on local information, protecting both the equipment and power system secure is then proposed, which scheme consists of: identification of fault flow transferring identification, adaptive overload protection and active load shedding strategy. The processes and system structure are introduced, and the following research points are also discussed in this paper.

Synchronized phasor measurement unit (PMU) plays a very important role in the smart grid, and a great deal of PMUs have been installed in China. The requirement of PMU in the smart substation is different from traditional substation. This paper introduces that the PMU is suitable for smart substation, there are several details that need to be complemented in IEC 61850 standards, and the paper gives some suggestion to improve it.

Vulnerability assessment is the key to the security and stability analysis of power system. During the operation of power grid, the fault risk of electrical equipment is not fixed because of the influence of system operating conditions, operating environment and equipment itself, so the vulnerability of power system will also be changeable. Based on the existing research results of complex network theory, a vulnerability assessment method considering operational reliability is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the basic idea of reliability weighted vulnerability assessment is introduced. Then HITS algorithm and PageRank algorithm will be used to analyze the basic vulnerability of power grid topology. Moreover, the vulnerability index of power grid considering reliability weighted is calculated. Finally, numerical analysis focusing on the difference between basic and improved assessment method is tested in IEEE RTS-79 system, and the preventive planning suggestions will be given based on the vulnerability assessment results.

This paper proposed a novel hybrid power converter topology based on cascaded H-bridge (CHB) and matrix converter (MC) in order to improve the performance of the conventional energy management systems in EV/PHEV application. The power demand by the load is supplied by the generator and batteries, which are connected to the primary winding of the medium frequency transformer (MFT) by the matrix converter and the cascaded H-bridge respectively. The power transfer between the sources and load can be controlled and isolated by using the MFT. The cascaded H-bridge, as the energy control unit, can be used to balance the voltage/SOC of battery packages individually, significantly improve the modularity, stability and safety of EV system.

Considering the effect of LNG supplying risk on the combined gas and electricity system's operation under the multi-gas-source supply background, the optimization planning model of the combined system's LNG reserve is developed in this paper. The optimization objective of this model is minimizing the annual cost of combined system, considering operation simulation of several typical scenarios along 52 weeks in a whole year and the annualized investment of LNG tanks. The operation objective of each scenario is determined by LNG's arrival and the operation mode of LNG terminals. A test system of IEEE-39 test system and Belgian 20-node system is formulated. The optimal LNG reserve of the test system is solved, and the effect of load level and operation mode on the reserve planning is also analyzed.

This paper studies the dynamic operation of a residential electric energy system with distributed renewable *** streams among the power grid, local renewable plant, storage unit, and demand are considered;the temporal volatility of renewable generation is described by an uncertainty set, and the optimal operation problem gives rise to a multi-stage robust optimization. To deal with the non-anticipativity issue, the robust model is solved via robust dual dynamic programming(RDDP)approach. The the cost-to-go function is approximated by iteratively updating the upper and lower bounds, which can be obtained from forward-pass and backward pass procedures. Case studies validate the performance and advantage of the proposed method.
