Text-to-SQL, the task of translating natural language questions into SQL queries, plays a crucial role in enabling non-experts to interact with databases. While recent advancements in large language models (LLMs) have significantly enhanced text-to-SQL performance, existing approaches face notable limitations in real-world text-to-SQL applications. Prompting-based methods often depend on closed-source LLMs, which are expensive, raise privacy concerns, and lack customization. Fine-tuning-based methods, on the other hand, suffer from poor generalizability due to the limited coverage of publicly available training data. To overcome these challenges, we propose a novel and scalable text-to-SQL data synthesis framework for automatically synthesizing large-scale, high-quality, and diverse datasets without extensive human intervention. Using this framework, we introduce SynSQL-2.5M, the first million-scale text-to-SQL dataset, containing 2.5 million samples spanning over 16,000 synthetic databases. Each sample includes a database, SQL query, natural language question, and chain-of-thought (CoT) solution. Leveraging SynSQL-2.5M, we develop OmniSQL, a powerful open-source text-to-SQL model available in three sizes: 7B, 14B, and 32B. Extensive evaluations across nine datasets demonstrate that OmniSQL achieves state-of-the-art performance, matching or surpassing leading closed-source and open-source LLMs, including GPT-4o and DeepSeek-V3, despite its smaller size. Nature-inspired population-based stochastic search algorithms (SSA) have demonstrated effectiveness in solving many real-world dynamic optimization problems (DOPs), such as dynamic optimal power flow (DOPF) problems. The basic idea of solving DOPs using SSAs is to 'track the moving optima', rather than solving the changed problems from scratch. Its hidden assumption is that the problems are slightly changed in general, and it is expected that the search process can be accelerated by learning from past search experiences. However, the hidden assumption that the current search process can always benefit from previous search experiences might not be true for certain cases. For example, if the current problem is not similar to any of its previous problems, the historical solutions might not be helpful for the current search. To reduce such negative transfer, the following issues are worthy of study: how to choose which historical problems to learn from, and how to determine the degree of learning from historical problems. To solve the above problems, we propose a dynamic processing framework based on fuzzy rules from the perspective of incorporating human knowledge for optima tracking. The experimental results on the DOPF problems show that the SSA with the proposed optima tracking strategy outperforms other comparative algorithms. During software development, vulnerabilities have posed a significant threat to users. Patches are the most effective way to combat vulnerabilities. In a large-scale software system, testing the presence of a security patch in every affected binary is crucial to ensure system security. Identifying whether a binary has been patched for a known vulnerability is challenging, as there may only be small differences between patched and vulnerable versions. Existing approaches mainly focus on detecting patches that are compiled in the same compiler options. However, it is common for developers to compile programs with very different compiler options in different situations, which causes inaccuracy for existing methods. In this paper, we propose a new approach named PS3, referring to precise patch presence test based on semantic-level symbolic signature. PS3 exploits symbolic emulation to extract signatures that are stable under different compiler options. Then PS3 can precisely test the presence of the patch by comparing the signatures between the reference and the target at semantic level. To evaluate the effectiveness of our approach, we constructed a dataset consisting of 3,631 (CVE, binary) pairs of 62 recent CVEs in four C/C++ projects. The experimental results show that PS3 achieves scores of 0.82, 0.97, and 0.89 in terms of precision, recall, and F1 score, respectively. PS3 outperforms the state-of-the-art baselines by improving 33% in terms of F1 score and remains stable in different compiler options. © 2024 ACM.

Large-vocabulary object detectors (LVDs) aim to detect objects of many categories, which learn super objectness features and can locate objects accurately while applied to various downstream data. However, LVDs often struggle in recognizing the located objects due to domain discrepancy in data distribution and object vocabulary. At the other end, recent vision-language foundation models such as CLIP demonstrate superior open-vocabulary recognition capability. This paper presents KGD, a knowledge Graph Distillation technique that exploits the implicit knowledge graphs (KG) in CLIP for effectively adapting LVDs to various downstream domains. KGD consists of two consecutive stages: 1) KG extraction that employs CLIP to encode downstream domain data as nodes and their feature distances as edges, constructing KG that inherits the rich semantic relations in CLIP explicitly;and 2) KG encapsulation that transfers the extracted KG into LVDs to enable accurate cross-domain object classification. In addition, KGD can extract both visual and textual KG independently, providing complementary vision and language knowledge for object localization and object classification in detection tasks over various downstream domains. Experiments over multiple widely adopted detection benchmarks show that KGD outperforms the state-of-the-art consistently by large margins. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. Cloud-based AI services offer numerous benefits but also introduce vulnerabilities, allowing for tampering with deployed DNN models, ranging from injecting malicious behaviors to reducing computing resources. Fingerprint samples are generated to query models to detect such tampering. In this paper, we present Intersecting-Boundary-Sensitive Fingerprinting (IBSF), a novel method for black-box integrity verification of DNN models using only top-1 labels. Recognizing that tampering with a model alters its decision boundary, IBSF crafts fingerprint samples from normal samples by maximizing the partial Shannon entropy of a selected subset of categories to position the fingerprint samples near decision boundaries where the categories in the subset intersect. These fingerprint samples are almost indistinguishable from their source samples. We theoretically establish and confirm experimentally that these fingerprint samples' expected sensitivity to tampering increases with the cardinality of the subset. Extensive evaluation demonstrates that IBSF surpasses existing state-of-the-art fingerprinting methods, particularly with larger subset cardinality, establishing its state-of-the-art performance in black-box tampering detection using only top-1 labels. Graph Neural Networks with Learnable and Optimal Polynomial Bases

Polynomial filters, a kind of Graph Neural Networks, typically use a predetermined polynomial basis and learn the coefficients from the training data. It has been observed that the effectiveness of the model is highly dependent on the property of the polynomial basis. Consequently, two natural and fundamental questions arise: Can we learn a suitable polynomial basis from the training data? Can we determine the optimal polynomial basis for a given graph and node features? In this paper, we propose two spectral GNN models that provide positive answers to the questions posed above. First, inspired by Favard’s Theorem, we propose the FavardGNN model, which learns a polynomial basis from the space of all possible orthonormal bases. Second, we examine the supposedly unsolvable definition of optimal polynomial basis from Wang & Zhang (2022) and propose a simple model, OptBasisGNN, which computes the optimal basis for a given graph structure and graph signal. This paper presents a quadrant analysis of turbulent rotor wakes, placing a particular emphasis on the self-similarity in single-point turbulent statistics. The self-similarity analysis reveals that within the wake self-similar region, the distribution of the Reynolds shear stress −u′v′¯ and the turbulent kinetic energy k in different quadrants can also attain a state of self-similarity. The length scaling is the same for −u′v′¯, k, and their different quadrant contributions. However, the velocity scaling of the ejection contribution differs from that of −u′v′¯ and k. Additionally, the analysis of hole filtering and spectrum filtering effects on the self-similarity and scaling of the ejection contribution to −u′v′¯ reveals a strong connection between ejection events and large-scale coherent structures, as well as deceleration extreme events. This finding is further confirmed through quadrant analysis of the time evolution of velocity fluctuations. The present study can be helpful in improving our understanding of the turbulent wake self-similarity.

Micro Expression (ME) is the subtle facial expressions that people show when they express their inner feelings. To address the problem that micro-expression recognition is difficult and less accurate due to the small number of samples and uneven distribution of different categories, we propose a model framework to improve the accuracy of micro-expression recognition. The peak frames containing more key expression information in the micro-expression video sequences are extracted; SE-ResNeXt-50, an improved residual network with SE module, is used to extract features from the peak frames of micro-expressions, where the SE module can better learn the key information in the features, and ResNeXt simplifies the structure by replacing the dense structure with the sparse structure through group convolution, which improves the recognition efficiency. The recognition efficiency is improved by replacing the dense structure with the sparse structure by group convolution. At the same time, the Focal Loss loss function can better solve the model performance problem caused by the imbalance of micro-expression data. Simulation experiments are conducted on the micro-expression dataset CASMEⅡ, and it is found that the improved residual network and peak frame improve the accuracy and F1 value of micro-expression recognition. The improved residual network and peak frame can reduce the effect of small data set, make the model have good fitting effect, and improve the performance of different categories, improve the recognition accuracy of micro-expressions, and have better recognition performance for micro-expression recognition.

Rethinking data-Free Quantization as a Zero-Sum Game

data-free quantization (DFQ) recovers the performance of quantized network (Q) without accessing the real data, but generates the fake sample via a generator (G) by learning from full-precision network (P) instead. However, such sample generation process is totally independent of Q, specialized as failing to consider the adaptability of the generated samples, i.e., beneficial or adversarial, over the learning process of Q, resulting into non-ignorable performance loss. Building on this, several crucial questions — how to measure and exploit the sample adaptability to Q under varied bit-width scenarios? how to generate the samples with desirable adaptability to benefit the quantized network? — impel us to revisit DFQ. In this paper, we answer the above questions from a game-theory perspective to specialize DFQ as a zero-sum game between two players — a generator and a quantized network, and further propose an Adaptability-aware Sample Generation (AdaSG) method. Technically, AdaSG reformulates DFQ as a dynamic maximization-vs-minimization game process anchored on the sample adaptability. The maximization process aims to generate the sample with desirable adaptability, such sample adaptability is further reduced by the minimization process after calibrating Q for performance recovery. The Balance Gap is defined to guide the stationarity of the game process to maximally benefit Q. The theoretical analysis and empirical studies verify the superiority of AdaSG over the state-of-the-arts. Our code is available at https://***/hfutqian/AdaSG. Copyright © 2023, The Authors.
