Domain terms play a crucial role in many research areas, which has led to a rise in demand for automatic domain terms extraction. In this paper, we present a two-level evaluation approach based on term hood and unit hood to extract Chinese domain compound terms automatically, which takes the character-level and word-level information into account. To achieve this, we incorporate semantic features by using the word segmentation to recognize single word terms, then leverage the improved C-value and heuristic methods such as word formation pattern and word formation power to evaluate candidates at both levels. By validating our approach with several existing dictionaries, a significant improvement of compound terms detection is achieved. Experiments in legal corpus show our method is superior over other compared methods. © 2011 IEEE.

SimRank is a well known algorithm which conducts link analysis to measure similarity between each pair of nodes (nodepair). But it suffers from high computational cost, limiting its usage in large-scale datasets. Moreover, Links between nodes are changing over time. It may be desirable to quickly approximate the similarity score between certain nodepair without performing a large-scale computation on the entire graph. In our approach we propose a method to efficiently estimate the similarity score using only a small subgraph of the entire graph. We call this novel algorithm "Local-SimRank". The experimental results conducted on real datasets and synthetic dataset show that our algorithm efficiently produces good approximations to the global SimRank scores. Meanwhile, we prove that the Local-SimRank score LS(a, b) is always less than original SimRank score S(a, b) mathematically. © 2010 IEEE.

Context-Aware Semantic Type Identification for Relational Attributes

Identifying semantic types for attributes in relations,known as attribute semantic type(AST)identification,plays an important role in many data analysis tasks,such as data cleaning,schema matching,and keyword search in ***,due to a lack of unified naming standards across prevalent information systems(*** islands),AST identification still remains as an open *** tackle this problem,we propose a context-aware method to figure out the ASTs for relations in this *** transform the AST identification into a multi-class classification problem and propose a schema context aware(SCA)model to learn the representation from a collection of relations associated with attribute values and schema *** on the learned representation,we predict the AST for a given attribute from an underlying relation,wherein the predicted AST is mapped to one of the labeled *** improve the performance for AST identification,especially for the case that the predicted semantic types of attributes are not included in the labeled ASTs,we then introduce knowledge base embeddings(***)to enhance the above representation and construct a schema context aware model with knowledge base enhanced(SCA-KB)to get a stable and robust *** experiments based on real datasets demonstrate that our context-aware method outperforms the state-of-the-art approaches by a large margin,up to 6.14%and 25.17%in terms of macro average F1 score,and up to 0.28%and 9.56%in terms of weighted F1 score over high-quality and low-quality datasets respectively.

Blockchain technologies pave a promising way for implementing the inter-organizational processes. Most of the current research works translate the execution logic in the process models into the smart contracts, which can run independently on the blockchain without the outside process engine. However, the works usually suffer from the execution and storage costs, since the translation needs to be done when the processes are deployed. In this paper, we customize a process engine for executing the inter-organizational business processes via a blockchain-style procedure, i.e., checking the validity of transactions, adding the valid transactions into the blockchain through the consensus mechanism, and then updating the process states according to the committed transactions. And then, we build a blockchain system by embedding the customized process engine into the blockchain nodes. Moreover, in order to realize the interactions between the inter-organizational processes running on blockchain and the services outside blockchain, we propose a blockchain-based approach for service registration, binding and invocation, and design a lease-based concurrency control protocol to logically isolate transactions from each other when invoking the services simultaneously. Finally, we implement a prototype system based on a permissioned blockchain platform Hyperledger Fabric and a process engine Activiti. The experimental results show the proposed blockchain system can execute the inter-organizational processes correctly and efficiently. © 2023 IEEE.

Sampling is a fundamental method for generating data *** many data analysis methods are developed based on probability distributions,maintaining distributions when sampling can help to ensure good data analysis ***,sampling a minimum subset while maintaining probability distributions is still a *** this paper,we decompose a joint probability distribution into a product of conditional probabilities based on Bayesian networks and use the chi-square test to formulate a sampling problem that requires that the sampled subset pass the distribution test to ensure the ***,a heuristic sampling algorithm is proposed to generate the required subset by designing two scoring functions:one based on the chi-square test and the other based on likelihood *** on four types of datasets with a size of 60000 show that when the significant difference level,a,is set to 0.05,the algorithm can exclude 99.9%,99.0%,93.1%and 96.7%of the samples based on their Bayesian networks-ASIA,ALARM,HEPAR2,and ANDES,*** subsets of the same size are sampled,the subset generated by our algorithm passes all the distribution tests and the average distribution difference is approximately 0.03;by contrast,the subsets generated by random sampling pass only 83.8%of the tests,and the average distribution difference is approximately 0.24.

Anonymisation technique has been extensively studied and widely applied for privacy-preserving data publishing. However, most existing methods ignore personal anonymity requirements. In these approaches, the microdata consist of three categories of attribute: explicit-identifier, quasi-identifier and sensitive attribute. In fact, the data sensitivity should be determined by individuals. An attribute is semi-sensitive if it contains both QI and sensitive values. In this paper, we propose a novel anonymisation approach, called local anatomy, to address personalised privacy protection. Local anatomy partitions the tuples who consider the value as sensitive into buckets inside each attribute. We conduct some experiments to illustrate that local anatomy can protect all the sensitive values and preserve great information utility. Additionally, we also present the concept of intelligent anonymisation system as our direction of future work. © 2021 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Large amounts of data are generated continually in the real world. The objects in the data and the relationships between them have become increasingly complex. Graph is a powerful tool for representing these data and the complex relationships between them. To effectively describe the entities and connections in these data, the concept of a knowledge graph was proposed, and knowledge graph has become one of the bases for storing graph data, and the importance of it is self-evident. Genealogy data is a kind of graph data where nodes are used to represent the person in the genealogy data, and edges are used to represent the relationship between the person. Moreover, in a genealogy graph database, the "critical" relationship that is unique for an entity is defined. In contrast, the abnormal data derive from the existence of multiple "critical" relationships between entities. In a genealogy graph, abnormal data will cause the wrong relationships and redundant entities. To avoid such abnormal data in genealogy graph database, the abnormal data are categorized into four different types, and the corresponding processing methods are proposed for each type of abnormal data, respectively. The experiment results demonstrate that the processing method can effectively solve these abnormal data.

A large amount of log data is generated every moment in many real-world applications. System logs, mobile application logs, web logs etc., all of which contain rich information and can be analyzed for valuable information. At the same time, genealogy attracts more and more attention in recent decades, especially for Chinese. People utilize the genealogy system to seek roots, find source of family, build a family tree and so on. Due to the complexity of genealogy data and specific features of genealogy system, how to extract and analyze the valued genealogy information effectively is a huge challenge. Motivated by this, we propose a novel analysis method using web logs in genealogy system for drawing user profile and providing personalized recommendations. More specifically, firstly, all web logs are extracted from genealogy system based on the enhanced logs which record the behaviors and data of user. Secondly, the extracted logs are formatted for analysis, and we analyze the logs to extract various user-related attributes for drawing user profile. Finally, personalized recommendations like interested people and family tree are provided for each user in system. The high availability and effectiveness of our proposed method is verified on genealogy system-Huapu system.

knowledge graphs (KGs) have been widely applied in many fields such as recommendation systems and knowledge reasoning. Embedding KGs into a continuous vector space has quickly gained significant attention. However, most traditional KG embedding models assume that all the facts in the existing KGs are completely correct, ignoring that KG construction usually involves automatic mechanisms. These automatic construction processes inevitably generate a lot of noises and conflicts, including low-quality errors (e.g., entity type errors). Moreover, these low-quality noises could greatly influence the quality of rule extraction, which may reduce the efficiency of Rule-Guided Embedding model (RUGE). To address this problem, an efficient method to eliminate those entity type errors in triples is proposed and applied to RUGE. Experimental results demonstrate that the filtering of low-quality noises can greatly improve the accuracy of knowledge representation learning as well as the quality of rules, further illustrating the effectiveness of our method.

In many areas, a lot of data have been modeled by graphs which are subject to uncertainties, such as molecular compounds and protein interaction networks. While many real applications, for example, collaborative filtering, fraud detection, and link prediction in social networks etc, rely on efficiently answering k-nearest neighbor queries (kNN), which is the problem of computing the most "similar" k nodes to a given query node. To solve the problem, in this paper a novel method based on measurement of SimRank is proposed. However, because graphs evolve over time and are uncertainly, the computing cost can be very high in practice to solve the problem using the existing algorithms of SimRank. So the paper presents an optimization algorithm. Introducing path threshold, which is suitable in both determined graph and uncertain graph, the algorithm merely considers the local neighborhood of a given query node instead of whole graph to prune the search space. To further improving efficiency, the algorithm adopts sample technology in uncertain graph. At the same time, theory and experiments interpret and verify that the optimization algorithm is efficient and effective.
