Object detection using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) has emerged as a criti cal application across diverse domains. However, the wide-angle views of drones often result in images containing a high density of small objects, posing chal lenges for object detection such as few learnable features, significant occlusion, and an imbalanced distribution of positive and negative samples. To address these issues, this paper introduces AGLC-YOLO, an enhanced version of the YOLOv7 architecture specifically designed for detecting small objects in UAV images. AGLC-YOLO integrates global and local context information through a Attention guide Global-Local Context Information Extraction (AGLC) module. This module employs parallel dilated convolutions to capture local context infor mation and a transformer-based structure to extract global dependencies, which are then fused using an improved attention mechanism. The network also adds an additional small object detection head to enrich the small object information in the model. Additionally, AGLC-YOLO utilizes an auxiliary bounding box in con junction with the Inner-Wise Intersection over Union (Inner-WIoU) loss function to accelerate the bounding box regression process and improve detection accu racy. Experimental results on the VisDrone and ManipalUav datasets demonstrate that AGLC-YOLO achieves significant improvements over the baseline YOLOv7 model, with anincrease of 3%inAP50and2.7%inAP95ontheVisDronedataset, and 1.9% in AP50 and 2% in AP95 on the ManipalUav dataset. © 2025, The Authors. Traditional visual-inertial SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) systems predominantly rely on feature point matching from a single robot to realize the robot pose estimation and environment map construction. However, in complex scenarios, these traditional systems struggle with issues such as tracking failures due to illumination changes, rapid movements, and low-texture environments, and they perform poorly in terms of mapping efficiency and global consistency. To address these challenges, we propose a centralized collaborative SLAM system that employs both point and line features for tracking in the robot and map fusion in the cloud. The proposed system leverages the fusion of point and line features across all instances in the process, which allows our method to achieve higher localization accuracy in structured, low-texture scenes. With the aid of classifying gravity-aligned vertical lines and spatial parallel lines, the proposed system can deliver faster and more accurate odometry in complex scenes. Furthermore, we developed intra-robot and inter-robot loop closure detection methods based on point and line features, generating a globally consistent sparse point cloud and structured scene map in the cloud. Our method is able to build richer maps while improving accuracy compared to existing methods. Experimental results on public datasets and in real-world environments show that, compared to existing advanced methods, our approach demonstrates better performance. © 2014 IEEE.

This paper discusses the H consensus problem of leader-follower multi-agent systems. The controller for each agent is crafted to utilize comprehensive information from all connected agents, while an innovative event-triggered strategy is incorporated to minimize communication costs. Based on the Lyapunov function theory, an H controller is proposed that can ensure both system stability and a prescribed disturbance attenuation level γ. Finally, a numerical example validated the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Directional Beamforming for High-Speed Railway Communications with Frequency Offset Precorrection

This paper considers a multi-antenna transmission strategy for high speed railway communications. In order to achieve better performance than conventional space-frequency block coding schemes, we propose a directional beamforming strategy for the High-speed railway (HSR) communication by exploiting some characteristic of the railway system including predetermined moving tracks and real-time positioning information. Moreover, for alleviating the effect of Doppler shift due to the moving train, a frequency offset precorrection method is also incorporated with direction beamforming. Theoretical Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) gain of the proposed beamforming scheme over traditional HSR communication schemes is also derived for illustrating the performance enhancement. Numerical results verify the effectiveness of our proposed scheme even with some kind of imperfect position information available at the transmitter.

The stability of perovskite solar cells （PSCs） is a major problem limiting their ***,we proposed a feasible solution using bis（2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl） sebacate（HALS-770） as top protection layer of ***-770 interlayer can not only improve the antioxidant ability of perovskite by removing superoxide (O) with help of hindered amine groups,but also suppress the internal and external degradation path of perovskite due to the co-existence of hydrophilic and hydrophobic ***,it can block volatilization of organic cation and the migration of Agand I,thus improve thermal stability of perovskite and alleviate destruction of Ag *** addition,the heterocycles N atom and carbonyl group in HALS-770 interact with the under-coordinated Pb,reducing the interface *** a result,the unencapsulated device maintains excellent stability over95%of its initial efficiency after 30 days in ambient condition with about 25–50%humidity,and possesses remarkable continuous operation stability with projected T80>1400 h at maximum power point tracking in glove box,much higher than those of the pristine ***,HALS-770 enable the PCE of 21.88%for PSC （0.06 cm）,which is among the highest efficiencies for MAPbI based PSCs with p-i-n structure,and the PCE of 19.07%for PSM （4 cm）.And it is also suitable for FAMA-based devices with n-i-p structure,enabling an efficiency of 23.03%（0.06 cm） and excellent stability.

In this study, double-physical-fields null medium, i.e., a subwavelength air channels surrounded by a carefully arranged metal plates, is utilized to design an electromagnetic-acoustic beam compressor capable of simultaneously compressing electromagnetic waves and acoustic waves. Numerical simulation results verify its ability to simultaneously produce the expected compression ratios for both electromagnetic waves and acoustic waves. Moreover, the compression ratio precisely matches the geometric size ratio of the input and output planes of the compressor. This work may have potential applications in electromagnetic-acoustic coupling systems and electromagnetic-acoustic processing/detection.

In the era of artificial intelligence generated content (AIGC), conditional multimodal synthesis technologies (e.g., text-to-image) are dynamically reshaping the natural content. Brain signals, serving as potential reflections of how the brain interprets external information, exhibit a distinctive one-to-many correspondence with various external modalities. This correspondence makes brain signals emerge as a promising guiding condition for multimodal synthesis (e.g., image, text, and audio), which is crucial for developing practical brain–computer interface systems and unraveling complex mechanisms underlying human perception. This survey comprehensively examines the emerging field of brain-conditional multimodal synthesis, termed AIGC-brain, to delineate the current landscape and future directions. To begin, related neuroimaging datasets and generative models are introduced as the foundation of AIGC-brain decoding and analysis. Next, we present a comprehensive taxonomy according to AIGC-brain methodologies, followed by task-specific representative work and implementation details to facilitate in-depth comparison and analysis. Quality assessments are then introduced for both qualitative and quantitative evaluation. Finally, this survey explores insights gained, outlining current challenges and prospects of AIGC-brain. As a pioneering survey, this article paves the way for future advances in AIGC-brain research. © 2020 IEEE.

In previous study, many single-function static/quasi-static magnetic devices, such as cloak and concentrator, have been designed base on transformation optics. However, few have explored devices capable of simultaneously generating two different functions on the static/quasi-static magnetic field. In this study, we propose a dual-function quasi-static magnetic device, which can create a concealed region and concentrated region for quasi-static magnetic field simultaneously. The dual-function quasi-static magnetic device is designed via twice extreme spatial stretching transformation and magnetic null medium, which can be realized by using arrays of superconductors and ferromagnetic materials in specific arrangement. The simulated results verify the performance of the proposed dual-function quasi-static magnetic device, which can simultaneously achieve cloaking and concentrating effect for the magnetic field from DC to 1000 Hz. The quasi-static magnetic field can be enhanced 9 times than the background magnetic field when the side lengths of the internal square pillar and external square pillar of the proposed structure are selected as a = 10 mm and b = 90 mm, respectively. Moreover, the concentrating ratio obtained from theoretical calculation fits well with the results obtained through numerical simulation. The dual-function quasi-static magnetic device designed in this study may have essential application in medical testing for special occasions.

Inconel 718, a nickel-based superalloy, is widely used in the key parts of aero-engine owing to its high performance at elevated temperatures. Meanwhile, Inconel 718 is a typical difficult-to-cut material which is hard to obtain ideal surface integrity by conventional machining (CM). Laser-assisted machining (LAM) has a good potential to improve the machinability. In order to study the processing mechanism in the LAM of Inconel 718, the in-situ and ex-situ studies were presented in this paper. In the in-situ analysis, LAM and CM experiments were carried out based on in-situ observation and digital image correlation (DIC) technology. The Von Mises strain and equivalent plastic strain rate in the primary shear zone (PSZ) and cutting force were measured. According to the DIC results, under the experimental conditions of this paper, the average Von Mises strain and average equivalent plastic strain rate of PSZ in LAM increase by about 10% and 20% respectively due to the softening of Inconel 718 by laser heating, compared with CM. In-situ analysis shows that Inconel 718 in LAM is more prone to plastic flow, resulting in lower cutting forces. As for the ex-situ characterization, the surface roughness, residual stress and tool wear were measured. The measured results show that LAM can significantly reduce surface roughness and tool wear, and cause compressive residual stress on the machined surface. © 2022 The Authors.

Performance-Aware control of Modular Batteries For Fast Frequency Response

Modular batteries can be aggregated to deliver frequency regulation services for power grids. Although utilizing the idle capacity of battery modules is financially attractive, it remains challenging to consider the heterogeneous module-level characteristics such as dynamic operational efficiencies and battery degradation. In addition, real-time decision making within seconds is required to enable fast frequency response. In order to address these issues, this paper proposes a performance-aware scheduling approach for battery modules to deliver fast frequency response (FFR) support. In particular, the conduction loss and switching loss of battery packs as well as converters are captured within a mix-integer quadratic constrained program (MIQCP). The cycle-based aging model identifies the aging cost of battery modules during frequent cycling by introducing the aging subgradient calculation and linearization. Case studies based on real-world battery data show that the proposed scheduling approach can effectively reduce power loss cost by nearly 28%-57% and battery aging cost by 4%-15% compared to conventional methods, which can also enhance the SoC balance. © 2010-2012 IEEE.
