One of the main objectives of this study was to activate the pozzolanic activity of sludge, produced by municipal sewage treatment plants (MSTP), which makes it become an admixture to replace a part of cement in cement-based materials. Nowadays, a significant quantity of MSTP sludge is obtained in China, and the disposal of sludge presents a rising challenge for the environment, which is the reason why this paper examines the possibility of adding this waste product to cement-based materials. MSTP sludge was activated by thermal (Incineration) and mechanical (Grinding) treatment. Meanwhile, the changes in the crystalline structure of MSTP sludge incineration ash (MSA) were evaluated using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and mortar strength tests were carried out on the mortars containing MSA to investigate the reactivity of the produced materials. The obtained results revealed that the optimal activation conditions of MSA were as follows: incinerated at 800 C for 2.5 hours followed by fast cooling in air and then ground until 60 minutes. Moreover, we have observed that MSA has an appreciable effect on the increase in compressive strength of the mortars and using of 20% MSA as a replacement of part of cement could be considered the optimum content. More importantly, the tests showed that extract toxicity of heavy metals in MSA were much lower than the national standard though some heavy metals existed in MSA. These results demonstrate the feasibility of recycling MSTP sludge has become an admixture in cement-based materials for construction engineering.

Ground-Source Heat Pump(PSHP) was verified by US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as one of the most efficient air conditioning systems on present market. It has a higher efficiency than other heating systems from 50% to 70%, and a higher efficiency than other cooling systems from 30% to 50%. The working principle of PSHP determines its low operating costs. By comparing the total energy efficiency, the existing groundwater heat pump total energy efficiency is the highest, about 115%. The total energy efficiency for soil-source heat pump is up to 100%. But traditional air conditioning is far less than the level. Articles present a research on Ground-Source Heat Pump system and its cost with a scientific and objective principles. Ground-source heat pump is a new central air conditioning system of Low-carbon energy saving. Due to the high technical content, function requirement, and installation difficulty, the average initial investment of ground-source heat pump is much higher than traditional central air conditioning. A series of one-dimensional consolidation tests and triaxial creep tests were performed on Nansha clays, which are interactive marine and terrestrial deposits, to investigate their time-dependent behaviour. Based on experimental observations of oedometer tests, normally consolidated soils exhibit larger secondary compression than overconsolidated soils;the secondary consolidation coefficient (C-a) generally gets the maximum value as load approaches the preconsolidation pressure. The postsurcharge secondary consolidation coefficient (C-a') is significantly less than C-a. The observed secondary compression behaviour is consistent with the C-a/C-c concept, regardless of surcharging. The C-a/C-c ratio is a constant that is applicable to the recompression and compression ranges. Compared with the stage-loading test, the single-loading oedometer test can evaluate the entire process of secondary compression;C-a varies significantly with time and is larger than the C-a obtained from the stage-loading test. Based on experimental observations of triaxial creep tests, the creep for the drained state differs from the creep for the undrained state. The behaviour can be predicted by a characteristic relationship among axial strain rate, deviator stress level and time.
