Carbonate reservoirs have a significant proportion of the known petroleum reserves, with its characteristics of pores and fractures development. A series of laboratory testing have been performed. Using high pressure water jet cutting the artificial crack (different angles and different lengths for dolostone & limestone), in order to simulate the natural fractures. We have measured P-wave velocity and S-wave velocity on carbonate rock for original specimens and artificial crack specimens. Results from laboratory research are as follows: 1) as the fractures exist, P-wave velocity and S-wave velocity decreased, the fracture has more influence on S-wave velocity than P-wave velocity;2) under uniaxial compression, the curves of axial strain and the compression velocity can be divided into three stages: 3) the fracture has an important influence on mechanical parameters of carbonate rock. Increasing fracture angle and length will result in decreasing the strength parameters under uniaxial compression;4) under condition of confining pressure, P-wave velocity increases with the increasing of confining pressure. The growth rate of dolostone's P-wave velocity is larger than limestone. The research results can be used for better analysis the mechanical and acoustic wave characteristics of carbonate rock in deep drilling engineering and provide technology parameters for exploration in carbonate reservoirs. Quasi-Green’s function method for free vibration of clamped thin plates on Winkler foundation

The quasi-Green＇s function method is used to solve the free vibration problem of clamped thin plates on the Winkler foundation. Quasi-Green＇s function is established by the fundamental solution and the boundary equation of the problem. The function satisfies the homogeneous boundary condition of tile problem. The mode-shape differential equation of the free vibration problem of clamped thin plates on the Winkler foundation is reduced to the Fredholm integral equation of the second kind by Green＇s formula. The irregularity of the kernel of the integral equation is overcome by choosing a suitable form of the normalized boundary equation. The numerical results show the high accuracy of the proposed method.

A new shift-invariant non-aliasing Ridgelet transform was presented to avoid aliasing and shift-variant in old Ridgelet transform. Firstly, image size was expanded twice via interpolating zero values,so that the sampling rate in Radon transform domain was improved and the aliasing was reduced;Secondly, the one-dimensional discrete wavelet transform in the old Ridgelet transform was replaced by one-dimensional dual-tree Complex wavelet transform(DCWT) which had both shift-invariant and double directional analysis ability. On this basis, a new image enhancement method for linear features was proposed by using zero-mean Gaussian mode in the shift-invariant non-aliasing Ridgelet transform domain. Experimental result shows that the presented Ridgelet transform can avoid effectively the 'scratch around'phenomenon in reconstructed image and the visual effects of the image enhancement is improved obviously. © 2012 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

This paper deals with non-linear free vibration of double-deck reticulated shallow spherical shell by applying the non-linear theory of double-deck reticulated shallow spherical shell established by the author. Model function is supposed to be theory solution of small deflection. The proper equation of double-deck reticulated shallow spherical about time functions with two types of boundary conditions is derived by using Galerkin's method. At the same time, the analytical expression of ratio of non-linear vibration and linear vibration is deduced and the non-linear effect about amplitude is discussed. Numerical examples are given as well.

In order to solve the effect of time lag in the process of structural vibration control,Linear Quadratic Guassian Predicted controller(LQGPC) is deduced based on *** controller can forcaste the control force at next serveral steps according to to-be moment response of controlled *** the signal of control force at next serveral steps was set to control system accroding to time lag of control ***,A five -story smart isolated frame structure is analyzed by adopting the LQGPC in the case of different time *** results show that control effects of LQG and LQGPC have the favorable control efficiency and both two algorithms can decrease the response of the structure effectively in the case of no time lag,but LQGPC still has better ability of controlling structural response in the case of different time lag existing in system.

This study was to investigate the hydration characteristics and cementious properties of pyrolytic steel slag (PSS). Initially, PSS pastes were made to determine the hydration characteristics of PSS and the results indicated that the hydration activity of PSS with 6.4% gypsum content was stronger than that of paste with pure PSS. Afterwards, compressive strength of mortars were tested and the results showed that cement mortars with 0% to 30% replacement of PSS satisfied the requirements of activity index class of 80% at 28 days. As an activator, gypsum was supiror to calcium hydroxide in performance.

Structural damage detection remains as a challenging task in the field of structural health monitoring (SHM), which has occupied many scientific communities over the last two decades. As a new exploring attempt to the SHM problem, this paper proposes an ant colony optimization (ACO) based algorithm for continuous optimization problems on structural damage detection in the SHM field. First of all, the theoretical background of ACO is introduced for search of approximation best solution to discrete optimization problems and further to continuous optimization problems. Then four benchmark functions are used to evaluate the performance of continuous ACO (CnACO) algorithm. After that, the problem on the structural damage detection is mathematically converted into a constrained optimization problem, which is then hopefully solved by the CnACO algorithm. Meanwhile, effect of measurement noise on the algorithm is considered in all the damage scenarios. Upon extensive numerical simulations for single and multiple damages of a 2-storey rigid frame structure, the proposed method is extended to four damage patterns of a building model of 3-storey steel frame structure made in laboratory for further experimental verification of the proposed method. Illustrated results show that the proposed method is very effective for the structural damage detection. Regardless of weak damage or multiple damages, the identification accuracy is very high and the noise immunity is better, which shows that the proposed method is feasible and effective in the SHM field. © 2010 Elsevier Ltd. The dynamic stress concentration on quadratic and U-shaped cavities in half space, which are similar to the cross-section of the tunnels, is solved in this paper impacted by SH-wave. The analytical solution for the cavity in elastic half space is gained by the complex function method. In the complex plane, the scattering wave which satisfies the zero-stress condition at the horizontal surface can be constructed, the problem can be inverted into a set of algebraic equations to solve coefficients of the constructed scattering wave by least square method. For the earthquake-resistance researches, the numerical examples of the dynamic stress concentration around the quadratic and U-shaped cavities impacted by SH-wave are given. The influences of the dynamic stress concentration by the incident wave number and angle, the depth and shape of the cavity are discussed. It is showed that the interaction among the wave, the surface and the shallow buried tunnels should be cared in half space. In this situation, the dynamic stress concentration around the tunnel is greater obvious than the whole space.

Buckle propagation in subsea corroded pipelines is one of the most concerned problems in offshore industries, while locating the plastic hinges in the corroded pipeline is the crux in determining the buckle propagation pressure. This paper presents a methodology to determine the locations of plastic hinges in non-uniform shells subjected to external pressure. The non-uniform shell used 0 model the corroded pipeline has two Regions: Region 1 of reduced, inconstant thickness and Region 2 of nominal thickness. Analytical formulas for the bifurcation load, radial deformation, initial yield pressure and stress distribution in the non-uniform shell are derived from perturbation analysis using WKB expansion. The locations of plastic hinges are identified at the stress peaks by taking the derivative of the stress with respect to circumferential coordinate. Imperfection sensitivity of the non-uniform shell is assessed with an emphasis on the role of initial yield pressure and the locations of plastic hinges. Special case when the thickness of Region 2 is constantly reduced is examined. It is found that both the initial yield pressure and the locations of plastic hinges depend on the non-uniform conditions of the cylindrical shell.
