Facial affect analysis remains a challenging task with its setting transitioned from lab-controlled to in-the-wild situations. In this paper, we present novel frameworks to handle the two challenges in the 4th Affective Behavior Analysis In-The-Wild (ABAW) competition: i) Multi-Task-Learning (MTL) Challenge and ii) Learning from Synthetic Data (LSD) Challenge. For MTL challenge, we adopt the SMM-EmotionNet with a better ensemble strategy of feature vectors. For LSD challenge, we propose respective methods to combat the problems of single labels, imbalanced distribution, fine-tuning limitations, and choice of model architectures. Experimental results on the official validation sets from the competition demonstrated that our proposed approaches outperformed baselines by a large margin. In the construction of large-scale hydropower projects in China,enormous amounts of materials are *** by various factors,fluctuation of materials price is very common during the *** protect the benefits of the demander and the supplier,reasonable material price adjustment methods need to be set in the procurement bidding documents.A price adjustment model is established considering price fluctuation stratifying and risk sharing.A simulation-based method is proposed for determing parameters in the model,and the simulation process is optimized with the optimal computing budget allocation *** on the judgment of engineers and real data of a hydropower project in Sichuan,China,and simulation cases are generated and the experimental results are analyzed with the *** results show that the simulation-based method provides scientific and reasonable support for determing parameters of material price adjustment model,and the optimal computing budget allocation algorithm plays an optimizing role.

Perception and portability are critical issues for wearable gloves in hand assistive engineering. However, available wearable gloves either lack flexible sensing or are bulky. In this paper, we present a tendon-driven lightweight wearable glove with soft joint sensing, Sen-Glove. Sen-Glove is equipped with 14 soft strain sensors, which enables full bending motion monitoring of 14 joints of five fingers and greatly reduces the weight of the glove. Besides, modular design makes Sen-Glove more compact and weighs 161g in total, reducing the burden on hand. A series of mechanical tests are conducted to evaluate the characteristics of Sen-Glove. Experimental results show that Sen-Glove can withstand 500 bending cycles, assist the subject in grasping 21 multi-scale objects, and recognize 11 gestures. The classification accuracy of 11 different gestures reaches 98.6%, which verifies the efficacy of the strain sensors.

For strict-feedback systems with mismatched uncertainties, adaptive fuzzy control techniques are developed to provide global prescribed performance with prescribed-time convergence. First, a class of prescribed-time prescribed performance functions are designed to quantify the performance constraints of the tracking error. Additionally, a novel error transformation function is provided to eliminate the initial value limitations and resolve the singularity issue in previous research. To ensure the convergence of the tracking error into a prescribed bounded region within a prescribed time and satisfactory transient performance, controllers with or without approximating structures are established. Notably, the settling time and initial condition of the prescribed performance function are completely independent of the initial tracking error and system parameters, thereby improving upon existing results. Furthermore, the disadvantage of the semi-global boundedness of tracking error induced by dynamic surface control can be eliminated through the use of a novel Lyapunov-like energy function. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed strategies is validated through numerical simulations performed on practical examples.

nD-CS: A circularly shifting chaotic map generation method

Due to more complex behavior and larger number of control parameters, high -dimensional chaotic map generation methods may provide more satisfactory performance in various practical applications compared to low -dimensional counterparts. Designing n -dimensional (nD) chaotic map generation methods for generating chaotic maps in arbitrary dimensions with desired dynamics is an interesting but challenging task. In this paper, we propose a universal framework called the nD circularly shifting chaotic map generation method (nD-CS), which utilizes existing one-dimensional chaotic maps as seed maps to generate nD chaotic maps with complex and robust behaviors. Theoretical analysis proves that when specific criteria are met by its control parameters, our nD-CS can exhibit complex and robust hyperchaotic behavior in the sense of Lyapunov exponent. To demonstrate the effectiveness of our nD-CS, we first employ it to generate three examples of three-dimensional hyperchaotic maps. The results indicate high-performance indicators of these new chaotic maps. Furthermore, we compare the nD chaotic maps generated by our nD-CS to those produced by existing methods. The results demonstrate that our chaotic maps have a better overall performance.

A Visual Servo-Based Predictive control With Echo State Gaussian Process for Soft Bending Actuator

This article designed a soft bending actuator (SBA) and presented a neural-network-based tracking control strategy for such an actuator. To achieve high-precision control, a visual feedback system was established by using a high-speed camera to dynamically compute the corresponding central angle which described the curvature of the SBA. Considering its nonlinear features, the echo state Gaussian process, a fusion of echo state network and Gaussian process, was used to approximate the SBA's dynamics with a nonlinear autoregressive exogenous model. On this basis, a single-layer neural network was trained to calculate the control signal in light of the idea of predictive control, due to its simplicity and good approximation capabilities. The stability of the closed-loop system was guaranteed, and experimental results indicated that the proposed strategy showed relatively high tracking accuracy under various reference trajectories.

A hierarchical colored Petri net-based cyberattacks response strategy making approach for critical infrastructures

Critical infrastructures are essential for national security, economy, and public safety. As an important part of security protection, response strategy making provides useful countermeasures to reduce the impacts of cyberattacks. However, there have been few researches in this domain that investigate the cyberattack propagation within a station and the incident spreading process in the critical infrastructure network simultaneously, let along analyzing the relationships between security strategy making for a station and scheduling strategy for the critical infrastructure network. To tackle this problem, a hierarchical colored Petri net-based cyberattacks response strategy making approach for critical infrastructures is presented. In this approach, the relationships among cyberattacks, security measures, devices, functions, and station capacity are analyzed and described in a hierarchical way, and the system loss is calculated with the input of abnormal station capacities. Then, based on the above model, the security strategy making for a station and the scheduling strategy making for the critical infrastructure network are investigated in depth. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated on a simulated water supply system.

Consensus of Second-Order Hybrid Multiagent Systems by Event-Triggered Strategy

In this article, an event-triggered method is proposed to solve the consensus of the second-order hybrid multiagent systems (MASs), which contain discrete-time and continuous-time individuals. First, we give a selection criteria of the coupling gains, the eigenvalues of communication topology, and the event-triggered sampling interval to guarantee the hybrid consensus, which have an impact on system stability, due to the interaction and co-existence of discrete-time and continuous-time individuals. Second, the hybrid second-order consensus under the event-triggered strategy is proven, where the agents communicate with their neighbors and update their controllers only at the triggered instants. Finally, we give some simulation examples to prove the validity of the main results.

In this paper, a fully circuit implementation of Memristive Neural Network (MNN) is proposed. The forward calculation of the network is based on winner-take-all (WTA) mechanism. The weight updating is achieved through the difference of pre-spike and post-spike, which is more close to the biological weight adjustment mechanism. The network is implemented in a full circuit without additional control units. The designed circuit consists of four modules. The memristive crossbar array module with one-memristor (1M) unit structure can effectively calculate the vector-matrix multiplication with only one step. The switch S is replaced by the transistor in the designed leaky-integrate-and-fire (LIF) module, which can control the integration and leakage of the membrane voltage and realize the lateral inhibition between output neurons. Connecting the integrated monostable trigger and the difference circuit, the post-spike generating module can output the required post-spike. The signal switch module realizes the switching of signals connected to memristors by using voltage-controlled switches. The combination of two modules validly realizes weight updating. The functions of four modules are verified separately. We performed a simulation experiment of 5×3 pixels image classification based on the designed circuit in PSPICE. The circuit output results and the high classification accuracy prove the circuit can be effectively applied in pattern recognition. The noise experiment shows the robustness of the designed circuit. © 2021 IEEE.

Positivity and Stability of Delayed Timescale-Type Differential-Difference Equations

In this article, positivity and global exponential stability for a class of timescale-type differential-difference equations with bounded time-varying delay are considered. At first, a sufficient and necessary condition for the positivity of matrix-valued timescale-type exponential function is obtained. Based on this, an explicit criterion for the positivity of coupled timescale-type differential-difference equations with delays bounded above is acquired by timescale-type induction method. Besides, a sufficient and necessary condition of its positivity is obtained when the delay is both bounded above and below by two positive reals. Then, a concise criterion that guarantees the global exponential stability of the considered system is derived based upon analytical techniques of time scales and positivity constraint. On top of that, the theoretical results are applied to investigate the positivity and stability for a class of timescale-type neutral linear systems with bounded time-varying delays. Two numerical examples are given to illustrate the validity of the results.
