Thermal management for a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) is actually temperature control, due to the importance of cell temperature for the performance of an SOFC. An SOFC stack is a nonlinear and multi-variable system which is difficult to model by traditional methods. A modified Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model that is suitable for nonlinear systems is built to model the SOFC stack. The model parameters are initialized by the fuzzy c-means clustering method, and learned using an off-line back-propagation algorithm. In order to obtain the training data to identify the modified T-S model, a SOFC physical model via MATlab is established, The temperature model is the center of the physical model and is developed by enthalpy-balance equations. It is shown that the modified T-S fuzzy model is sufficiently accurate to follow the temperature response of the stack, and can be conveniently utilized to design temperature control strategies. The study of the second order motion in biological vision is a new source of inspiration for algorithms and research directions in computer vision. In this paper, the second order motion can be divided into three typical group according to the modulation types: spatial modulate motion, temporal modulate motion and spatio-temporal modulate motion. Experiments are conducted on the first order motion perception based on correlation model and the second order motion perception by correlation model preceded with a nonlinear process called texture grabber. This paper presents new stability results for recurrent neural networks with Markovian switching. First, algebraic criteria for the almost sure exponential stability of recurrent neural networks with Markovian switching and without time delays are derived. The results show that the almost sure exponential stability of such a neural network does not require the stability of the neural network at every individual parametric configuration. Next, both delay-dependent and delay-independent criteria for the almost sure exponential stability of recurrent neural networks with time-varying delays and Markovian-switching parameters are derived by means of a generalized stochastic Halanay inequality. The results herein include existing ones for recurrent neural networks without Markovian switching as special cases. Finally, simulation results in three numerical examples are discussed to illustrate the theoretical results.

Convolution is an important and useful operation in the fields of digital signal processing. In this paper, based on the previous work of performing discrete Fourier transform (DFT) via linear sums of discrete moments, we have made development to eliminate multiplications in discrete Fourier transforms by performing appropriate bit operations and shift operations in binary system, which can be implemented by integer additions of fixed points; then using the convolution theorem with the DFT, we compute the convolution with two DFTs, a point-by-point product, and an inverse DFT. Our algorithm involves fewer multiplications and can deal with arbitrary length signals.

Discrete Hartley transform (DHT) is an important tool in digital signal processing. In this paper, based on our previous work of performing DHT via linear sums of discrete moments, we have made development to eliminate multiplications in discrete Hartley transforms by performing appropriate bit operations and shift in binary system, which can be implemented by integer additions of fixed points. An efficient and regular systolic array is designed to implement it, and the complexity analysis is also given. Different to other fast Hartley transforms, our algorithm can deal with arbitrary length signals and get high precision. The approach is also applicable to multi-dimensional DHT and DHT inverses.
