Energy-aware routing for delay-sensitive underwater wireless sensor networks

The energy reduction is a challenging problem in the applications of underwater wireless sensor networks(UWSNs). The embedded battery is difficult to be replaced and it has an upper bound on its *** relay is a popular method to reduce energy consumption in data transmission. The energy minimum path from source to destination in the sensor networks can be obtained through the shortest path ***, because of the node mobility, the global path planning approach is not suitable for the routing in UWSNs. It calls for an energy-efficient routing protocol for the high dynamic UWSNs. In this paper, we propose the modified energy weight routing(MEWR) protocol to deal with the energy-efficient routing of delaysensitive UWSNs. MEWR is a low flooding routing protocol. It can tolerate the node mobility in UWSNs and achieve a low end-to-end packet delay. MEWR can provide lower energy consumption than the existing low delay routing protocols through the dynamic sending power adjustment. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of MEWR.

Hoisting system is the key part of the girder hoister, and its reliability determines the stability and security of the girder hoister directly. Hoisting system consists of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components. Owing to the multiple and complex failure modes and mechanisms of the components, the hoisting system's reliability evaluation is accomplished by Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) based on T-S model. Failure probabilities can be described as fuzzy possibilities and fault degrees are expressed in terms of fuzzy numbers, while events' relationships are described by T-S gates instead of conventional logic gates. A method to acquire knowledge about the premise and consequent events is given, in terms of fuzzy rules of T-S gates made up of fuzzy possibilities and fault degrees of components. Fuzzy possibilities of the intermediate events and the top event are computed by MATlab, in terms of information about field experiences and expert data. Considering the influence of fault degrees to the system at the same time, it offers reference to find and improve relevant weaknesses of the system, thus the dependability of the whole hoisting system is improved. © 2010 IEEE.

Clear imagery of retinal vessels is one of the critical shreds of evidence in specific disease diagnosis and evaluation, including sophisticated hierarchical topology and plentiful-and-intensive capillaries. In this work, we propose a new topology- and shape-aware model named Multi-branch Vessel-shaped Convolution Network (MVCN) to adaptively learn high-resolution representations from retinal vessel imagery and thereby capture high-quality topology and shape information thereon. Two steps are involved in our pipeline. The former step is proposed as Multiple High-resolution Ensemble Module (MHEM) to enhance high-resolution characteristics of retinal vessel imagery via fusing scale-invariant hierarchical topology thereof. The latter is a novel vessel-shaped convolution that captures the retinal vessel topology to emerge from unrelated fundus structures. Moreover, our MVCN of separating such topology from the fundus is a dynamical multiple sub-label generation via using epistemic uncertainty, instead of manually separating raw labels to distinguish definitive and uncertain vessels. Compared to other existing methods, our method achieves the most advanced AUC values of 98.31%, 98.80%, 98.83%, and 98.65%, and the most advanced ACC of 95.83%, 96.82%, 97.09%,and 96.66% in DRIVE, CHASE_DB1, STARE, and HRF datasets. We also employ correctness, completeness, and quality metrics to evaluate skeletal similarity. Our method's evaluation metrics have doubled compared to previous methods, thereby demonstrating the effectiveness thereof. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

In order to overcome the characteristics of uncertainty and incomplete information of fault attribute in searching for fault, a new fault search method based on the fault tree and grey fuzzy multi-attribute decision-making is proposed in this paper. Firstly, utilizing fault tree analysis (FTA) method to determine the initial fault alternative, fault probability and search cost of the fault alternative are considered as fault attributes simultaneously, the attribute value of fault alternative is described as grey fuzzy numbers, calculating the attribute weight by the information entropy method. Then, the grey relational grade between the fault alternative and the ideal alternative is calculated base on grey relational analysis method, and relative closeness of fault alternative is achieved. Finally, according to the relative closeness determine the search order of all fault alternatives. An engineering example of the hydraulic suspension system of a certain type truck is adopted to demonstrate the feasibility and accuracy of the proposed method. © 2011 IEEE.

An anti-saturation fault-tolerant adaptive torsional vibration control method with fixed-time prescribed performance for the rolling mill main drive system(RMMDS)was investigated,which is affected by control input saturation,actuator faults,sensor measurement errors,and parameter ***,we gave a continuously differentiable saturation function to approximate the control input saturation characteristic of the RMMDS,translating the saturation characteristic into the matched uncertainty and unknown time-varying gain in the ***,an RMMDS mathematical model with unmatched uncertainty and unknown time-varying gain was developed,taking into account the presence of control input saturation,actuator faults,sensor measurement errors,and parameter *** on the established mathematical model,an error transformation model of the roll speed tracking was constructed by the equivalent error transformation *** to the error transformation model,a barrier Lyapunov function and a novel adaptive controller were studied to ensure that the roll speed tracking error always evolves inside a fixed-time asymmetric ***,numerical simulations were performed in Matlab/Simulink to verify the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed control method in suppressing the RMMDS torsional vibration.

Job-shop scheduling problem is the core link and key technology to realize smart factory and develop smart manufacturing technology. Among them, the flexible job-shop scheduling problem (FJSP) which is more consistent with the actual production and processing mode has been focused. This paper proposes an improved seagull optimization algorithm(ISOA) for solving the FJSP. The ISOA uses chaos initialization and reverse learning to optimize initial population, and introduces Q-learning to change the fitting parameters to balance global search and local search. In addition, we propose a local search model that is adaptive iterative process to enhance the algorithm's optimization search capability. The results of the experiment proved that the algorithm is superior in terms of optimization speed and scheduling results. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper deals with the relaxation stability analysis and event-triggered controller design of discrete-time positive Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy networked control systems (FNCSs). The constraints of positive conditions in NCSs bring significant challenges to stability analysis and controller design. A 1-norm event-triggered scheme is proposed for the positive system, which can effectively reduce the frequency of network communication. Since the event-triggered T-S fuzzy controller (ETTSFC) can only observe the latest transmission state after the triggering action, the ETTSFC selects the premise variables different from the T-S fuzzy model, improving design and implementation flexibility. Using the linear copositive Lyapunov function (LCLF), the design criteria of the event-triggered controller to ensure the positivity and stability of the closed-loop system are derived. To relax the sum-of-squares (SOS) based conservative condition, we adopt the Taylor series membership functions (TSMFs) and introduce TSMFs and their approximation error into the stability conditions. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the design. © 2023 IEEE.

This study explores polynomial Markov positive fuzzy systems, formulating controllers for these systems by examining the prerequisites for positivity and stochastic stability. Initially, polynomials are incorporated into the Markov positive fuzzy system to represent nonlinear elements better and enhance its capacity to model nonlinear systems. Concurrently, the study discusses the non-convex scenarios encountered in the stability analysis of the closed-loop system once the positive fuzzy system controller is integrated and confirms the stability of the Markov polynomial positive fuzzy system. Ultimately, the effectiveness of the proposed approaches is demonstrated through a numerical simulation example. © 2024 IEEE.

The flexible job-shop scheduling problem (FJSP) is a famous combinatorial optimization problem. FJSP is widely used in process manufacturing industry, so it is of great significance to study FJSP to improve production efficiency. In this paper, a non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II based on a new decoding mechanism (NSGAII-NDM) is proposed. Firstly, the opposite-based learning strategy is introduced on the basis of NSGAII, and the sufficiency of global search is improved by generating the opposite value. Secondly, an improved adaptive crossover and mutation probability strategy is added, which can dynamically adjust the inherent crossover and mutation probability with the number of iterations and improve the convergence speed of the algorithm. Furthermore, based on fully active scheduling strategy, a new decoding mechanism is proposed, which can get a better scheduling scheme by arranging the machines and starting time of each process more reasonably. Finally, the improved algorithm is tested in a standard test case, which verifies the superiority of NSGAII-NDM in solving the flexible job-shop scheduling problem. © 2023 IEEE.

Adaptive Decentralized Output-Constrained control of Single-Bus DC Microgrids

A single-bus DC microgrid can represent a wide range of applications. control objectives of such systems include high-performance bus voltage regulation and proper load sharing among multiple distributed generators(DGs) under various operating conditions. This paper presents a novel decentralized control algorithm that can guarantee both the transient voltage control performance and realize the predefined load sharing percentages. First, the output-constrained control problem is transformed into an equivalent unconstrained one. Second, a two-step backstepping control algorithm is designed based on the transformed model for bus-voltage regulation. Since the overall control effort can be split proportionally and calculated with locally-measurable signals, decentralized load sharing can be realized. The control design requires neither accurate parameters of the output filters nor load measurement. The stability of the transformed systems under the proposed control algorithm can indirectly guarantee the transient bus voltage performance of the original system. Additionally, the high-performance control design is robust, flexible, and reliable. Switch-level simulations under both normal and fault operating conditions demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
