Flexible tissue modeling plays an important role in the field of telemedicine. It is related to whether the soft tissue deformation process can be accurately, real-time and vividly simulated during surgery. Most existing models lack the unique biological characteristics. To enhance visual perception ability, a high-fidelity virtual liver model incorporating biological characteristics, such as the viscoelastic, anisotropic and nonlinear biological characteristics, is proposed based on the finite element model with the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method. When simulating the resection of diseased livers, the model undergoes a plastic deformation process where the model loses elasticity due to excessive deformation, but does not reach the cutting fracture threshold. To improve the fidelity of the liver model, this study is the first to introduce the viscoplasticity of biological tissues to the liver model. The 3DMax2020 and OpenGL4.6 were used to build a liver surgery simulation platform, and the PHANTOM OMNI manual controller was used to sense the feedback force during the operation. The proposed model was verified from three aspects of accuracy, fidelity and real-time performance. The experimental results show that the proposed virtual liver model can achieve real visual reproduction, with natural deformation effect, accurate simulation and high fidelity. © 2022, The Authors. A new scheme for producing semidiscrete self-trapped vortices ("swirling photon droplets") in photonic crystals with competing quadratic (χ(2)) and self-defocusing cubic (χ(3)) nonlinearities is proposed. The photonic crystal is designed with a striped structure, in the form of spatially periodic modulation of the χ(2) susceptibility, which is imposed by the quasi-phase-matching technique. Unlike previous realizations of semidiscrete optical modes in composite media, built as combinations of continuous and arrayed discrete waveguides, the semidiscrete vortex "droplets" are produced here in the fully continuous medium. This work reveals that the system supports two types of semidiscrete vortex droplets, viz., onsite- and intersite-centered ones, which feature, respectively, odd and even numbers of stripes, N. Stability areas for the states with different values of N are identified in the system's parameter space. Some stability areas overlap with each other, giving rise to the multistability of states with different N. The coexisting states are mutually degenerate, featuring equal values of the Hamiltonian and propagation constant. An experimental scheme to realize the droplets is outlined, suggesting new possibilities for the long-distance transmission of nontrivial vortex beams in nonlinear media. © 2023, CC BY.

Curcumin, a natural compound extracted from the rhizomes of Curcuma longa , has gained much attention due to its high food safety profile and broad biological activities, especial for anti-cancer activities. However, its clinical application is limited by poor bioavailability. In this study, we develop liver-targeted carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) nanoparticles named curcumin (CUR)-loaded dual ligand nanoparticles (DL NPs). CMCS is modified with deoxycholic acid (DCA), lactobionic acid (LA) and glycyrrhetinic acid (GA), which are regarded as safe common food. Transmission electron microscopy, 1 H NMR and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy are used for the characterization of DL NPs. As a result, CMCS possesses hydrophilic groups, and is pH-sensitive. DCA acts as the hydrophobic group and promotes the formation of self-assembled nanoparticles. LA and GA are used as the liver specific delivery of CUR. The drug-loaded DL NPs exhibit stronger cell internalization, and anticancer efficacies than the free CUR. Additionally, DL NPs improved the gut dysbiosis, and increased the abundance of Lachnospiraceae_ NK4A136 _group and the content of butyric acid, which further increased the expression of caspase 3 and induced apoptosis. Overall, it's proved that DL NPs would become promising pharmaceutical formulations for selectively overcoming hepatocellular carcinoma, with great potential for clinical applications.

Flux-switching permanent magnet motor (FSPMM) is a new stator permanent magnet brushless motor. It overcomes many shortcomings of the conventional permanent magnet motor having magnets in the rotor and has a well application prospect. The three-phase 12-slots/10-poles FSPMM is used as the control object. On the basis of the working principles, the mathematical models have deduced and the mechanical properties are calculated. The characteristics of the electromagnetic are analysed by setting up the steady and dynamic-state models of the FSPMM. Linear Active Disturbance Rejection control (LADRC) is designed in the speed loop of the FSPMM to realize the linear control of the nonlinear system. By using the Linear Extended State Observer (LESO), the total disturbances can be estimated and compensated in real time. The performance robustness is verified by the Monte Carlo experiments of the two control strategies, including the LADRC algorithm, and the traditional PI control strategy. The results show that LADRC strategy has a greater capability of disturbance rejecting and stronger performance robustness. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2019.

The induced draft (ID) fan is a significant piece of auxiliary equipment in thermal power plants. An early detection of possible faults in the ID fan may be used for effective predictive maintenance, thereby reducing the overall maintenance cost and improving the reliability and availability of thermal power plants. This paper proposed a genetic algorithm and long-short term memory network (GA-LSTM)-based condition monitoring approach using normal operation data of the ID fan. Furthermore, the LSTM network and the sliding window technique were introduced to construct double thresholds, which contains a dynamic threshold and a static threshold. The GA-LSTM-double thresholds method was applied to a coal-fired power plant to achieve early fault detection and diagnosis. The results demonstrates that the proposed method is capable of detecting minor anomalies in advance.

During the commissioning of Nuclear power plant unit, it is necessary to perform the transient condition test that the single pump operation of Main Feedwater (APA) pump triggers the rapid load rejection of steam turbine. Due to the sudden loss of a main water supply pump during the test, the level of the steam generator will change dramatically. If there is a signal of "SG level low plus steam / water flow mismatch" or a signal of "SG level low low", the reactor trip protection will be triggered. PI controller is used as the core controller of the main feed water pump control process. The optimal parameters of PI controller directly affect the level control performance of steam generator. At present, the units that have completed the test only verify that the control system meets the requirements of transient conditions, but it does not solve the phenomenon that the oscillation frequency of the feed water regulating system is too high under stable conditions. In this paper, the safety range of the control parameters under transient condition is determined by simulation model test, and then the steady-state performance of the parameters is improved by field test, so the optimization of the control parameters is completed, and the regulation performance of the feed water control system under single pump operation and steady-state condition of the main feed water pump is improved, and practical results are achieved. The results show that the optimization of the controller parameters in this paper can meet the requirements of transient conditions, and can effectively increase the stability of the control system. This research method has been successfully applied in generation II unit, and it is also useful for the generation-III unit.

RAPTOR: Robust and Perception-aware Trajectory Replanning for Quadrotor Fast Flight

—Recent advances in trajectory replanning have enabled quadrotor to navigate autonomously in unknown environments. However, high-speed navigation still remains a significant challenge. Given very limited time, existing methods have no strong guarantee on the feasibility or quality of the solutions. Moreover, most methods do not consider environment perception, which is the key bottleneck to fast flight. In this paper, we present RAPTOR, a robust and perception-aware replanning framework to support fast and safe flight, which addresses these issues systematically. A path-guided optimization (PGO) approach that incorporates multiple topological paths is devised, to ensure finding feasible and high-quality trajectories in very limited time. We also introduce a perception-aware planning strategy to actively observe and avoid unknown obstacles. A risk-aware trajectory refinement ensures that unknown obstacles which may endanger the quadrotor can be observed earlier and avoid in time. The motion of yaw angle is planned to actively explore the surrounding space that is relevant for safe navigation. The proposed methods are tested extensively through benchmark comparisons and challenging indoor and outdoor aggressive flights. As a new control method that does not need accurate information of model, active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) treats external and internal disturbance as a total disturbance under extended state observer (ESO) and in order to maintain system performance, a state feedback law is put forward to compensate the total disturbance. We proposed a novel design of ADRC for two- input-two-output (TITO) systems in this paper. The manipulated variables of the two loops are both input into the ESO for the purpose of improving decoupling performance as well as the control performance of ADRC controller. This design of ADRC is easy to understand and has excellent decoupling ability. To prove the effectiveness of proposed method, some simulation examples are conducted.
