Automatic classification of Tibetan La case () is a challenging and significant task in Tibetan natural language processing. Compared with other short text classification tasks, the automatic classification of La case depend more on the semantic information of context and function words of La case. Based on the definition about La case classification task, this paper designs a semantic labeling algorithm for Tibetan La case function words by analyzing their usage and semantic features. When training La case classification model, calling this algorithm can integrate the semantic information about La case function words, thus increasing the diversity of input features and enriching the semantic information of embedded vectors. Experiments on eight commonly used short text classification models show that the classification accuracy (ACC) after fusing the semantic information on La case function words is improved by 2.1 percentage points on average, which verifies the effectiveness and universality of the algorithm. © 2023 IEEE.

Recent studies have shown that structural perturbations are significantly effective in degrading the accuracy of Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) in the semi-supervised node classification (SSNC) task. However, the reasons for the destructive nature of gradient-based methods have not been explored in-depth. In this work, we discover an interesting phenomenon: the adversarial edges are not uniformly distributed on the graph, and a majority of perturbations are generated around the training nodes in poisoning attacks. Combined with this phenomenon, we provide an explanation for the effectiveness of the gradient-based attack method from a data distribution perspective and revisit both poisoning attack and evasion attack in SSNC. From this new perspective, we empirically and theoretically discuss some other attack tendencies. Based on the analysis, we provide nine practical tips on both attack and defense and meanwhile leverage them to improve existing attack and defense methods. Moreover, we design a fast attack method and a self-training defense method, which outperform the state-of-the-art methods and can effectively scale to large graphs like ogbn-arxiv. In the field of autonomous driving, 3D target detection is an important technology. In view of the shortcomings of existing monocular 3D detection algorithms in terms of accuracy and real-time performance, we propose a lightweight 3D target detection algorithm based on the attention mechanism. In order to ensure the real-time performance of the model, we use depthwise separable convolutions in the backbone network. The feature maps of each scale are then connected to an EMA module, which can fuse spatial attention and cross-dimensional Coordinate attention is used to enhance the feature extraction capability of the network, and BiFPN is subsequently used for multi-scale feature fusion. Finally, experiments were conducted on the KITTI dataset, and the results showed that our algorithm was superior to other methods in both accuracy and speed. © 2024 IEEE.

In order to address the curse of dimensionality and reduce data processing costs, feature selection (FS) is an essential component. Since the process of selecting features is an optimization problem and prone to getting trapped in local optima, FS methods based on evolutionary computation (EC) can effectively tackle such problems. Therefore, this paper proposes a multi-population hierarchical differential evolution (MPDE) to solve the FS problem. In MPDE, inspired by the chicken swarm optimization (CSO) algorithm, a new multi-population communication mechanism is introduced, where individuals in each sub-population are hierarchically divided, and different levels of individuals adopt corresponding individual enhancement strategies to improve algorithm performance. MPDE is compared with five advanced EC-based FS methods on 18 datasets. The experiments demonstrate that MPDE can achieve higher classification accuracy while selecting fewer features, thus proving its effectiveness in solving the FS problem. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Genetic algorithms have been widely used in intelligent test paper generation systems. However, traditional genetic algorithms cannot ensure that the difficulty of test questions is normally distributed, and are prone to falling into local optimal solutions. To address the above problems, we proposed an intelligent test paper generation algorithm that combines normal distribution and parallel genetic algorithms. In the population initialization stage, we use the cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the normal distribution to initialize the population. In the subsequent genetic operations, we designed a directed mutation mechanism and added KL divergence as a penalty number in the design of the fitness function to ensure that the difficulty of the test questions is normally distributed. At the same time, in order to speed up the efficiency of the algorithm and escape from the local optimal solution, an adaptive migration strategy was introduced. Experimental results show that the difficulty of the test questions generated by this algorithm is normally distributed, and the algorithm performance is better than other algorithms. © 2024 IEEE.

Towards Privacy-Aware Causal Structure Learning in Federated Setting

Causal structure learning has been extensively studied and widely used in machine learning and various applications. To achieve an ideal performance, existing causal structure learning algorithms often need to centralize a large amount of data from multiple data sources. However, in the privacy-preserving setting, it is impossible to centralize data from all sources and put them together as a single dataset. To preserve data privacy, federated learning as a new learning paradigm has attached much attention in machine learning in recent years. In this paper, we study a privacy-aware causal structure learning problem in the federated setting and propose a novel federated PC (FedPC) algorithm with two new strategies for preserving data privacy without centralizing data. Specifically, we first propose a novel layer-wise aggregation strategy for a seamless adaptation of the PC algorithm into the federated learning paradigm for federated skeleton learning, then we design an effective strategy for learning consistent separation sets for federated edge orientation. The extensive experiments validate that FedPC is effective for causal structure learning in federated learning setting. © 2023 IEEE.

Short textual similarity has been more and more widely used in the field of natural language processing. However, people tend to pay more attention to the semantic similarity of sentences and ignore the word order similarity in sentences. For this reason, we propose a short text similarity computation model that fuses semantics and word order. In terms of semantics, we propose a adjacency-aware similarity model based on deep convolutional neural networks, which effectively exploits the adjacency relationship in sentences and extracts text features from multiple perspectives for similarity prediction. In terms of word order, a word order model incorporating an external knowledge base is proposed, which uses an external knowledge base with pointwise mutual information to construct word order dense vectors to assess word order similarity. Ultimately, we propose a comprehensive assessment model for short text similarity that incorporates semantic and word order information. We conducted experiments on the public dataset MRPC, and the experimental results show that our model outperforms existing models in terms of performance. © 2024 IEEE.

With the prevalence of various intelligent educational systems, it is imperative to uncover learners' proficiency in mastering knowledge points through their prior practice circumstances. Knowledge tracking is an extremely beneficial instrument in this regard. Among them, Convolutional Knowledge Tracking (CKT) has demonstrated excellent performance in numerous KT tasks, while it does not take into account the phenomenon of forgetting and the interconnection between knowledge points. In order to tackle these problems, we propose a model called FGE-CKT, which integrates forgetting behavior and graph embedding with CKT. Our model addresses the drawbacks of forgetting characteristics by modelling three key factors affecting students' forgetting behaviors through a fully connected neural net: repeated knowledge learning times, adjacent learning interval and interval between visits to repeat knowledge. At the same time, convolutional neural networks are used to simultaneously extract and incorporate connections between knowledge points into the model's input portion. It was confirmed by experiments on two well-established datasets that FGE-CKT achieved significant improvements in AUC performance. © 2024 IEEE.

Traceability is important for maintaining quality of logistics transactions and improving logistics efficiency. Implementing traceability for cross-border logistics is facing challenges when it lacks global centralized logistics information management services. Blockchain techniques enable a decentralized cross-border logistics management by publishing logistics transaction on blockchain transactions to support privacy protection and traceability. Logistics transactions involves complex interactions among participants. How to publish those interactions on a blockchain platform is a challenge. We propose a semantic overlay model that publishes a logistics transaction as a semantic link on a blockchain platform for supporting traceability. A semantic link schema model is designed and published on the blockchain platform to validate semantics links for ensuring the correctness of logistics transaction execution. The proposed semantic overlay on blockchain supports further extension of semantic computing in decentralized applications. © 2022 IEEE.
