Image saliency detection is an active research topic in the community of computer vision and multimedia. Fusing complementary RGB and thermal infrared data has been proven to be effective for image saliency detection. In this paper, we propose an effective approach for RGB-T image saliency detection. Our approach relies on a novel collaborative graph learning algorithm. In particular, we take superpixels as graph nodes, and collaboratively use hierarchical deep features to jointly learn graph affinity and node saliency in a unified optimization framework. Moreover, we contribute a more challenging dataset for the purpose of RGB-T image saliency detection, which contains 1000 spatially aligned RGB-T image pairs and their ground truth annotations. Extensive experiments on the public dataset and the newly created dataset suggest that the proposed approach performs favorably against the state-of-the-art RGB-T saliency detection methods. Anomaly detection of time series in wireless sensor networks has gained significant attention. Researchers employ representation techniques to reduce the dimensionality of time series. The Piecewise Aggregate Pattern Representation (PAPR) method vertically divides the time series and represents as patterns. However, the computational cost of the PAPR method for anomaly detection is high. To overcome this issue, we propose a time series representation method for anomaly detection called Skeleton Pattern Representation for anomaly detection (SPR-AD). An improved Perceptually Important Point (iPIP) identification algorithm is devised to transform the subsequence into a skeleton with PIPs. Then the skeleton is divided into several equal-sized subspaces in the amplitude domain. Statistical information of the PIPs located in subspaces is constructed to represent the skeleton as a pattern. Based on the two-phase representation scheme, anomaly is determined by anomaly scores which are based on the of similarity among pattern. The experimental results demonstrate the performance of the SPR-AD method is better in terms of computational cost and detection accuracy than the PAPR method. © 2019 IEEE.

In view of the difficulty of identifying the microseism signals, the present invention proposes a microseism signal recognition algorithm based on data mining. Firstly, ST is used to filter, and then using the space–time anomaly detection isolated noise signal and the seismic signal, using data mining to extract the feature information of seismic signals, finally using space–time forecast and classification model to recognize the seismic signal. Experiment result shows that the recognition accuracy of DM is slightly greater than that of LCD and LMD. However, the recognition rate of microseism signal based on DM is significantly smaller than LCD and LMD. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2019.

Encoding individual facial expressions via action units (AUs) coded by the Facial Action Coding System (FACS) has been found to be an effective approach in resolving the ambiguity issue among different expressions. While a number of methods have been proposed for AU detection, robust AU detection in the wild remains a challenging problem because of the diverse baseline AU intensities across individual subjects, and the weakness of appearance signal of AUs. To resolve these issues, in this work, we propose a novel AU detection method by utilizing local information and the relationship of individual local face regions. Through such a local relationship learning, we expect to utilize rich local information to improve the AU detection robustness against the potential perceptual inconsistency of individual local regions. In addition, considering the diversity in the baseline AU intensities of individual subjects, we further regularize local relationship learning via person-specific face shape information, i.e., reducing the influence of person-specific shape information, and obtaining more AU discriminative features. The proposed approach outperforms the state-of-the-art methods on two widely used AU detection datasets in the public domain (BP4D and DISFA).

Iterative methods for solving fixed point problems and pseudomonotone equilibrium problems have been considered. An extragradient algorithm has been presnted for finding a common element of the fixed points of pseudocontractive operators and the solutions of pseudomonotone equilibrium problems in Hilbert spaces. Chinese SRL(Semantic Role labeling) is a cutting-edge technology in the field of Chinese information processing. Now it has become one of the hottest research areas in Chinese information processing research. In this paper, based on the analysis of the previous SRL theory, the Chinese SRL technology, the comparison of advantages and disadvantages, this paper classifies and discusses the basic algorithm ideas of Chinese SRL. At the same time, the thinking on the SRL system is formed and a Chinese SRL system based on the binary strategy is proposed. The system adopts a binary strategy SRL method, combined with a statistical method based on linear feature combination research, fusion of Chinese short-sentence analysis of the study, to achieve a binary strategy-based Chinese SRL system design and construction. Through the experimental comparison, it is proved that the SRL system based on the binary strategy has a good annotation effect. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Humanoid robot has a wide application area and thus attracts a large number of researchers to study it. In this paper, we designed and implemented a human-arm-like manipulator with seven Degrees of Freedom (DOFs) according to the human-arm model of KIT motion capture database. DOF configurations of the robot are similar to those of human-arm, and the mechanical structure is designed to make the motion of every DOF, which is actuated by a pair of antagonized pneumatic artificial muscles (PAMs), independent from each other. Bowden cables are elaborately deployed to make the motion of adjacent DOFs decoupling from each other in favor of the control of the robotic arm. As a result, the robot can achieve motions as the same as those of the human arm. We validate it via simulations using the KIT human motion capture data, and suggest that this design scheme of the robotic arm can be used to improve the performance of humanoid robot in the human-centered environment as a cooperative robot or in the tele-manipulation application as a homogeneous slave robot.

Aqueous magnesium-air batteries (AMABs) are considered highly promising candidates for sustainable energy storage, but suffer from severe hydrogen evolution and chunk effect caused by uncontrolled Mg corrosion. Herein, we propose trifluoroacetamide (TFA) as a multifunctional electrolyte additive to address these challenges via dual solvation-interfacial regulation. Theoretical and experimental analyses reveal that TFA reconstructs the Mg primary solvation sheath by replacing active HO molecules, weakening hydrogen-bond networks, and reducing free HO activity. Concurrently, TFA chemically adsorbs on Mg surfaces via electron-rich amide groups, forming a corrosion-resistant solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI) that suppresses the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER rate reduced by 57 %) and guides planar Mg stripping. The optimized 0.2 M TFA-containing electrolyte enables an ultrahigh Mg anode utilization efficiency of 70.6 % and extends the Mg-air batteries' lifespan to 145.61 h (2.3 × improvement) at 10 mA cm. Remarkably, the TFA-enabled pure Mg system achieves a discharge voltage of 1.84 V, exceeding the highest value documented in existing literature, and delivers the pure Mg-based battery to achieve a power density of 2271.19 mWh·g at 10 mA·cm. Simultaneously, TFA ensures stable operation of the battery under extreme environments of -20 °C and 50 °C, demonstrating exceptional wide-temperature adaptability. This work provides atomic-level insights into electrolyte engineering strategies for durable multivalent metal-air batteries.

Fault-Tolerant Cooperative Motion Planning of Connected and Automated Vehicles at a Signal-Free and Lane-Free Intersection

Compared with a conventional intersection, a signal-free and lane-free intersection enables the vehicles to drive more flexibly, thereby to promote the throughput and to reduce congestions. This work proposes a fault-tolerant cooperative motion planning method for a number of connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) which are passing through a signal-free and lane-free intersection. Partial loss of actuator effectiveness is considered as the fault type. Even a subtle fault may significantly affect the overall team performance. Thus correctly judging whether each faulty/healthy CAV can still achieve its original goal is impossible until a corresponding motion replanning problem turns out to be solvable or not. To maximize the completeness of the original task, we propose a parallel computation framework, wherein the fault-recovery motion replanning problems in multiple levels of task completeness are tried simultaneously. Concretely, i) each faulty/healthy CAV should accomplish its original goal; ii) only each healthy CAV is required to accomplish its original goal; and iii) all the faulty/healthy CAVs try to stop safely without the need to achieve any original goals. Problems iii), ii), and i) are ranking with increasing computational difficulty. Among all the three problems, the achievable solution to the most difficult one is implemented as the fault-recovery strategy. © 2018
