In embedded Internet of Things(IOT) environment, there are the troubles such as complex background, illumination changes, shadows and other factors for detecting moving object, so we put forward a new detection service method through mixing Gaussian Mixture Model(GMM), edge detection service method and continuous frame difference method in this paper. In time domain, the new method uses GMM to model and updates the background. In spatial domain, it uses the hybrid detection service method which mixes edge detection service method, continuous frame difference method and GMM to get initial contour of moving object, and gets ultimate moving object. This method not only can well adapt to the illumination gradients and background disturbance occurred on scene, but also can well solve some problems such as inaccurate target detection, incomplete edge detection, cavitation and ghost which usually appears in traditional method. As experimental result showing, this method holds better real-time and robustness. It is not only easily implemented, but also can accurately detect moving object.

Identifying brain effective connectivity networks from functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data is an important advanced subject in neuroinformatics in recent years, where the learning method based on bayesian networks (BN) has become a new hot topic in the field. This paper proposes a new method to learn the brain effective connectivity network structure by combining ant colony optimization (ACO) with BN method, named as ACOEC. In the proposed algorithm, a brain effective connectivity network is first mapped onto an ant, and then the ant colony optimization by simulating real ants looking for food is employed to construct network structures and finally an ant with the highest score is obtained as the optimal solution. The experimental results on simulated and real fMRI data sets show that the new method can not only accurately identify the connections and directions of the brain networks, but also quantitatively describe the connection strength of the brain networks, which has a good clinical application prospects.

Wireless location is one of the core technologies of Wireless Sensor Network. In many applications, the accuracy of the location is the precondition of the useful of data information the node collected. Under the premise of cost limits, improving the accuracy of wireless sensor node position has crucial significance. After analyzing reasons of the location weakness of Dv-Distance algorithm due to errors caused by different paths, we propose an estimation algorithm that is based on the distance of different paths between node and the anchor node, thereby balancing the error of different paths to locate the node. This is an improved algorithm which is based on circle focal point positioning.

Quantum state tomography via local measurements is an efficient tool for characterizing quantum states. However, it requires that the original global state be uniquely determined (UD) by its local reduced density matrices (RDMs). In this work, we demonstrate for the first time a class of states that are UD by their RDMs under the assumption that the global state is pure, but fail to be UD in the absence of that assumption. This discovery allows us to classify quantum states according to their UD properties, with the requirement that each class be treated distinctly in the practice of simplifying quantum state tomography. Additionally, we experimentally test the feasibility and stability of performing quantum state tomography via the measurement of local RDMs for each class. These theoretical and experimental results demonstrate the advantages and possible pitfalls of quantum state tomography with local measurements.

With the development of Internet, various kinds of new applications appear constantly. They all have high requirements to the time delay, throughput, especially strong real-time applications such as mobile monitoring, video calls. This is a new challenge to the existing congestion control method. In order to solve this problem, we propose novel adaptive queue management intelligent algorithm in this paper. new active queue management algorithm adopts a new formula to calculate the discard packet rate. The discard packet rate can be calculated according to the changes of average queue and the nonlinear function. This new algorithm named ASRED (Adaptive Sigmoid RED) is based on the framework of RED (Random Early Detection). ASRED uses a new function to calculate the discarding probability. In addition, the adaptive adjustment of maxp mechanism is added into the algorithm.

The precise prediction of bus routes or the arrival time of buses for a traveler can enhance the quality of bus service. However, many social factors influence people's preferences for taking buses. These social factors may include heavy traffic cost, traffic congestion, poor air quality and so forth. Existing prediction techniques rarely consider social sensing when predicting the bus arrival time. Accordingly, this paper proposes a social sensing enhanced service for predicting bus routes, which integrates sensing ability and social networks to understand and measure the influence between social events and vehicle velocity. We focus on the analysis of two different attributions: PT service quality attributions PEAs and road condition attributions PRCAs. Both of them synthesize the social sensing in their evaluation of bus routes. PEA represents individual preferences and PRCA represents physical factors that significantly influence vehicle velocity. Bus relevant social events were further categorized into PEA events or PRCA events. PEAs of buses were scored according to the tendency of bus conditions reflected in social events. Furthermore, an artificial neural network prediction model is established to estimate the bus travel time. © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

As smart phones with GPS become popular, more and more textual documents with geographical locations are published on the Web. keyword-based location services like vehicle navigation, tour planning, nearby object querying, and location pattern discovering of spatial objects are becoming popular and important. However, processing both text and geographical locations brings more challenges to information-retrieval techniques. In this paper, we focus on the problem of finding textual topics of clusters containing spatial objects with text descriptions. The key is how to combine clustering techniques with topic-retrieval models to integrate both geo-location information and text information. We investigated methods that combine clustering methods with the Latent Dirichlet Allocation model to discover topics of clusters of documents with geo-locations. Six different methods of combination are investigated, each having outputs with different meanings, which can be further leveraged to answer different types of queries over spatial documents. Experiments are conducted on both synthetic and real data. The results show that the combination of the probabilistic topic model with clustering algorithms is an efficient and effective way to discover meaningful clusters in different facets and levels of documents with textual and geographical information. © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

In this paper, a new method is proposed to evaluate the performance of concurrent systems. A concurrent system consisting of multiple processes that communicate via message passing mechanisms is modeled by a Petri net, which is in turn represented by a set of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) of a restricted type. The equations describe the system state changes, and the solutions, also called state measures, can be used for the performance analysis such as estimating response time, throughput and efficiency. This method can avoid a state explosion problem encountered by the conventional methods based on Continuous-Time Markov Chains. Its application to an IBM business system is given as an example. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

In order to solve how to enhance the discovery efficiency and coverage, based on DHT (Distributed Hash Table), we put forward a new algorithm of service discovery for mobile application. In traditional DHT discovery algorithm, each node maintains the finger-table that store node information of adjacent node. By using Small-World Theory, we put forward adding a remote node into the finger-table and adding the corresponding remote index. It is different from selecting the remote connection node randomly. We select the remote connection node by calculating local node and it can assure not only the cove range of service discovery but also not increase the length of finger-table, which simplifies the calculation of the finger-table and maintenance work. The simulation proved that the algorithm can reduce the path length of service discovery effectively, improve success rate of service discovery.
