Wireless sensor networks have received considerable attention in many applications. The widely used multipath routing-based aggregation in wireless sensor networks typically suffers from the problem of duplicates. In this paper, we proposed FL algorithm to deal with the problem. The main idea of FL algorithm is to use sketch to represent the reading and transform the sensitive aggregation into insensitive aggregation. FL algorithm integrates FM-sketch and LC-sketch to compute the approximate aggregation results which satisfy the accuracy requirements. In order to verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, we implement extensive experiments through the simulation software. The results show that the proposed algorithm is feasible and effective.

Three-dimensional(3D) modeling of medical images is a critical part of surgical simulation. In this paper, we focus on the magnetic resonance(MR) images denoising for brain modeling reconstruction, and exploit a practical solution. We attempt to remove the noise existing in the MR imaging signal and preserve the image characteristics. A wavelet-based adaptive curve shrinkage function is presented in spherical coordinates system. The comparative experiments show that the denoising method can preserve better image details and enhance the coefficients of contours. Using these denoised images, the brain 3D visualization is given through surface triangle mesh model, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Due to the encephalic tissues are highly irregular, three-dimensional (3D) modeling of brain always leads to compli- cated computing. In this paper, we explore an efficient method for brain surface reconstruction from magnetic reso- nance (MR) images of head, which is helpful to surgery planning and tumor localization. A heuristic algorithm is pro- posed foi" surface triangle mesh generation with preserved features, and the diagonal length is regarded as the heuristic information to optimize the shape of triangle. The experimental results show that our approach not only reduces the computational complexity, but also completes 3D visualization with good quality.

Mining time series data has been revived in the last decade due to the increasing availability of time series datasets. This paper presents an online incremental learning algorithm for time series based on the self-organizing incremental neural network (SOINN) and fast dynamic time warping (FastDTW), referred to as OILFTS. The proposed method OILFTS adopts FastDTW distance as the similarity measure, meeting the requirements of most real-time applications. Moreover, OILFTS achieves online and incremental learning of data series which are of equal or unequal length. We test our method with UCR time series datasets, and experimental results show that, from the respect of classification accuracy, the proposed OILFTS is much better than the state-of-the-art similarity measure approaches and widely investigated kernel-based SVMs.

Character segmentation is an important topic to improve the overall performance of text recognition methods due to low resolution, complex background and lots of visual variations in video. This paper presents a novel idea for segmenting characters from arbitrarily-oriented text lines based on wavelet and Laplacian combination. Firstly, we explore wavelet which decomposes a given input image into sub-levels like a pyramid structure for segmenting words based on the fact that as decomposition level increases, the gap between characters decreases due to the reduction in the size of the input image, which results in a single component for each word. Secondly, for each segmented word, we propose Laplacian wavelet combination in a new way to extract text candidates. Thirdly, we propose horizontal and vertical sampling for character segmentation from words. The proposed method is tested on curved, non-horizontal and horizontal text lines of video and the ICDAR 2005 natural scene dataset to evaluate its performance. A comparative study with an existing method shows that the proposed method outperforms it in terms of precision and f-measure.

There is a need for effective web-document understanding due to the explosive progress of internet and network technologies. In this paper, we propose a new method for text detection in born-digital images by introducing a mass estimation concept. We propose to explore super-pixel information of different color channels to identify text atoms in images. The proposed method uses similarity graphs and spectral clustering to identify candidate text regions. We propose a new idea of mapping Gabor responses of a candidate text region to a spatial circle to study the spatial coherency of pixels. We introduce a mass estimation concept to identify text candidates from the pixel distribution in a spatial circle. The linear linkage graphs help in grouping text candidates to obtain full text lines. The same Gabor responses are used as features to eliminate false positives with an SVM classifier. We evaluate the proposed method for the testing on standard datasets, such as ICDAR 2013 (challenge-1) and the Situ et al. dataset. Experimental results on both the datasets show that the proposed method outperforms the existing methods.
