The traditional method based on moving average filter can remove the baseline wander in electrocardiogram signals, but also causes the loss of motive ECG signals, which makes distortions of filtered ECG signals. In this paper, a modified moving average filter is proposed to selectively capture the low-frequency baseline wander noise and remove it from the detected signals in order to recover true ECG. The interval sampling data is taken into consideration when calculate the moving average in order to reduce the loss of useful ECG signals and distortions. The algorithm is developed for computer implementation using MATlab. To validate the proposed methods, the recording from MIT/BIH database is used. Experimental results demonstrate the improvement of the proposed moving average filter over the traditional one in removing baseline wander without introducing distortion to the ECG signals.

Localization in mobile sensor networks is more challenging than in static sensor networks because mobility increases the uncertainty of nodes' positions. Most existing localization algorithms in mobile sensor networks use Sequential Monte Carlo (SMC) methods due to their simplicity in implementation. However, SMC methods are very time-consuming because they need to keep sampling and filtering until enough samples are obtained for representing the posterior distribution of a moving node's position. In this paper, we propose a localization algorithm that can reduce the computation cost of obtaining the samples and improve the location accuracy. A simple bounding-box method is used to reduce the scope of searching the candidate samples. Inaccurate position estimations of the common neighbor nodes is used to reduce the scope of finding the valid samples and thus improve the accuracy of the obtaineed location information. Our simulation results show that, comparing with existing algorithms, our algorithm can reduce the total computation cost and increase the location accuracy. In addition, our algorithm shows several other benefits: 1) it enables each determined node to know its maximum location error, 2) it achieves higher location accuracy under higher density of common nodes, and 3) even when there are only a few anchor nodes, most nodes can still get position estimations. © IEEE.

Apparently, this function of nomadic service is suitable for mobile services. But when nomadic service for computing task is realized among PC, laptop, or PDA, there are several difficult problems to be solved, such as how to supply the continuity and adaptability. In order to realize nomadic service, we design and improve relative approach. In this paper, firstly, formal description of task and its type have been given, then, classification of Agent and transferring granularity of task have been suggested, and then efficient mechanism of nomadic service based on agent for pervasive computing has been presented and designed, the description of suggested management platform supporting nomadic service.

Context-awareness is a key issue in pervasive computing. Context-aware applications are prone to the context consistency problem, where applications are confronted with conflicting contexts and cannot decide how to adapt themselves. In pervasive computing environments, users are often willing to accept certain degree of context inconsistency, as long as it can reduce the consistency maintenance cost, e.g., query delay and battery power. However, existing consistency maintenance schemes do not enable the users to make such tradeoffs. To this end, we propose the Probabilistic Consistency Checking for Pervasive Context (PCCPC) algorithm. Detailed performance analysis shows that PCCPC enables the users to check consistency over arbitrarily specified ratio of context. We also conduct experiments to study the cost reduced by probabilistic checking. The analytical and the experimental results show that PCCPC enables the users to efficiently make tradeoffs between context consistency and the associated checking cost. © 2008 IEEE.

For active application of many cases, context-aware computing with uncertainty includes forming model, fusing of aware context, managing context information and so on. Approach research on computing of aware context with uncertainty for making dynamic decision is focused in this paper. We compare dynamic context-aware computing with improved Random Set Theory (RST) and extended D-S Evidence Theory (EDS). We give new modeling mode based on RST for aware context and our computing approach of modeled aware context, extend classic D-S Evidence Theory after considering context's feature. Then compare relative computing methods, enumerate experimental examples and give the evaluation. By comparisons, the more validity of new context-aware computing approach based on RST than EDS with uncertainty information has been tested successfully.

During decision making procedure of active application, the primary signals with noise, which got from each sensor, were sent to a decision making center, the fusion center, through the distributed or centralized computer network. The fusion center then formed a final decision based on the primary decisions received from low-level sensors. But multi-sensor heterogeneous information fusion is an extremely challenging problem because of the complex and highly irregular nature of environment. We have designed a kind of new decision fusion method based on sensor evidence for active application in this paper. A fusion model, approach and relative lemma for multi-sensor heterogeneous information has been presented. For decision fusion, we have utilized the approaching relative efficiency performance measure. This method has been tested successfully by our active application projects.

In application-level DDoS attacks, attackers mimic legitimate client behavior by sending proper-looking requests via bots. The previous DDoS solutions focus on bandwidth flooding attacks, and have encountered significant difficulty in deployment. This paper presents a deployable architecture that counts the application-level DDoS attacks against web servers by combining overlay and IP anycast. In this architecture, when a protected web server is under attacks, the traffic to the server will be redirected to an overlay via IP anycast. The overlay nodes provide effective protection to the server by the distributed filter, the distributed traffic control, and also by building a temporary collaborative edge web cache. We demonstrate that this novel architecture has strong incentives to deploy and is able to be deployed by a single ISP without any modifications to implementation of routers and end host. We then discuss its properties and design challenges.

This article gives a capsule view of research on rough set theory and applications ongoing at universities and laboratories in China. Included in this capsule view of rough set research is a brief description of the following things: Chinese research groups on rough set with their URLs for web pages, names of principal researchers (supervisors), numbers of graduate students, and topics being investigated. Statistical summaries showing the growth in the research on rough set theory and application in China are included. In addition, an introduction summarizing the research interests of Chinese researchers is included in this article.
