Activity instance oriented handling is a new means for vertical optimization of process cases. Unlike our previous batch processing mechanism in workflows, it focuses on the data characteristics of activity instances and utilizes explicit knowledge for planning. This paper introduces its concept and proposes activity instance pattern to model and represent the knowledge for execution optimization. A flexible and intelligent workflow enactment framework for activity instance oriented handling is also proposed and investigated.

Clustering is an important data analysis technique and it widely used in many field such as data mining, machine learning and pattern recognition. Ant colony optimization clustering is one of the popular partition algorithm. However, in mutidimensional search space, its results is usually ordinary as the disturbing of redundant information. To address the problem, this paper presents MD-ACO clustering algorithm which improves the ant structure to implement attribute reduction. Four real data sets from UCI machine learning repository are used to evaluate MD-ACO with ACO. The results show that MD-ACO is more competitive. © 2011 IEEE.

For services that have similar functionalities, if they are published by different cloud platforms, it is a challenge to evaluate them, for satisfying different end users' personal preferences. In view of this challenge, a method for web service ranking, named WSRank, is investigated in cloud environment in this paper. It aims at ranking different Web services published by different cloud platforms, taking advantage of Page Rank principle. At last, a case study and experiment are presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the method. © 2011 IEEE.

Users usually have different prospective even they input a same keyword to search Web services. It is a challenge to personalize web service search engine as more and more keyword-like Web services becoming available on Internet. User interest plays an important role in personalizing search result. Therefore, through interest extraction, Web service search engine is personalized. At last, an experiment is presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the method. © 2011 IEEE.

To solve the adaptive invoking problem of Web service implicit relationship, a constructing method for Web services implicit relationship graph from the perspectives of the invoking logics was proposed. In this method, Web service was simplified as a tri-tuple. The triple relationships corresponding to a set of Web services were decomposed into two types of binary relationships: output patterns set and input pattern set. Services links were the edges of Web services implicit relationship graph and was the result from the linking operation of output patterns set and input pattern set. Algorithms of constructing the pattern set and Web services implicit relationship graph were put forward. The effectiveness of the proposed method was verified by experiment.

The traditional approach of filtering pornographic videos on the Internet is based on visual features of keyframes. However, it cannot meet users' needs owing to the proliferation of low-resolution videos. To improve the filtering performance, we propose a novel framework of fusing audio-words with visual features for pornographic video detection. Our intention is not only to fuse the two modalities of visual images and audio signals, but also to narrow down the semantic gap between low-level features and high-level concepts by using the mid-level feature "audio-words". To further improve the performance, we present the segmentation algorithm based on units of energy envelope and the decision algorithm based on periodic patterns. The results show that our approach outperforms the traditional one which is based on visual features and achieves satisfactory performance. Moreover, the proposed segmentation algorithm is better than the conventional one using the same length and the proposed decision algorithm exceeds the conventional one using thresholds.

It have become very difficult that users can find the best, credible web service for some proposed semantic web service discovery methods, because web service environment has become open, autonomic, dynamic, and deceptive. This paper proposes a QoS-assured trust-driven semantic web service discovery method i.e. TDSWSD. This method, firstly, describes and labels web services by ontology technology, and then makes use of the existing keyword matching method to carry basic matching;secondly, function matching will be done by ontology-based concept semantic similarity calculation method;finally, QoS-assured trust measure method will be designed to carry credible QoS matching. Compared with existing methods, the experimental results show that this method can not only automatically find the service to meet user' requirements, but also ensure the validity and reliability of service discovery.

In hospitals, there are usually many legacy equipments and software systems, which may not provide standard interface for integration or even do not have its own API for outside accessing. This makes it very hard to integrate those legacy systems with health information system. It becomes a big challenge for health information integration if you want to provide a total Health Information System for hospitals. To solve this problem, this paper designs an effect and flexible health images data capture methods and apply it in certain hospitals. It uses windows Hook API to capture the output data or system operation behavior and submit to health information system. Finally, they can be renewed by a special algorithm developed by us.

A modified mountain clustering algorithm based on hill valley function

A modified mountain clustering algorithm based on the hill valley function is proposed. Firstly, the mountain function is constructed on the data space, with estimating the parameter by a correlation self-comparison method, and database's mountain function values are computed. Secondly, the hill valley function is introduced to partition the data distributed on each peak. If the hill valley function' value of two datum equal to 0, it means these two datum are on the same mountain and belong to the same cluster, otherwise they are not. Finally, the data in a cluster with maximum mountain function value is selected as the cluster centre of this cluster. The testing of four databases indicate that the proposed clustering algorithm can categorise the data numbers in each cluster and find all the cluster centres exactly, and no need priori parameters and stopping criterion correlating to the database. © 2011 ACADEMY PUBLISHER.
